The Question
Hiccup was in the forge, sitting in his old and small study, looking at something he made a few days ago.
It had been a few months after Drago's Attack with the Bewilderbeast and the ice was gone thanks to the dragons.
He, Gobber and a few other man that could build, repaired all the destroyed houses so now, Berk was back to it's normal self.
But then, Hiccup had faced a problem. Since he was the chief, he needed to have a wife, and a heir.
And the only one that he wanted to marry was Astrid. But he didn't know if she would agree. Yeah, they had been together for five years but they where just Boyfriend/Girlfriend.
At the beginning of their relationship, it had started off with a few silly dates but they stayed together. Their relationship was and it still is strong. Astrid is the only thing that Hiccup could think about nowadays.
'How am I going to ask her? I mean...she's beautiful, smart, caring, tough, brave and courageous. An what am I? Just a lanky chief. I'm not even sure if she would accept it. But...if we stayed together for five years, then she would agree? Wouldn't she? I need to decide. And I need to do it quick...maybe a nice picnic in the cove and then a-'
"Hiccup?" Her voice asked, bringing him out of his thoughts. Astrid walked in and saw the ring in his hand before he hid it in his pocket.
"Hey Astrid! Hey...hi, hey Astrid! Hey!" Hiccup said nervously. 'Fran it!'
"Hiccup? Was it...a ring?" Astrid asked with a confused voice. "What, no...no, I wouldn't do a ring! Why would I need a ring?"
The woman's face saddened. "Oh? I just came here to talk to you about us but...maybe, you just don't want to go further?" She asked before she left, crying.
Hiccup walked after he but she was gone.
He signed and rubbed his face. "What have I done?"
Meanwhile, Astrid was flying towards the Cove with Stormfly. "How would I even be so dumb? Of course he just wanted us to be boyfriend and girlfriend! He wouldn't want anything else! And I thought that he loved me!" Astrid cried into her dragons neck as she slowly flew towards the Cove.
The neck few days, the two didn't even talk. Or...at least Astrid. Hiccup tried to talk to his girlfriend, if he even could call her that anymore, but she just ignored him.
But, Hiccup had made up his mind. He was going to ask Astrid. As I she didn't want to get married, then they wouldn't. He just wanted to get his Astrid back.
The Astrid that always where there by his side. The Astrid that always cared about him. The Astrid that would love him, no matter how much he screwed up.
So, one early morning. He fixed everything. He even shaved one extra time for Astrid because he knew how she hated full grown beards. He fixed his armor and took the small box with the rig from his desk.
It was an early morning, probably about an hour before sunrise so it was still a bit dark. Hiccup walked out of the house in silence not to awake his mother and dragon.
When he was out of the house, he walked towards Astrid's rather fast. He opened the door in silence and closed it behind him. He walked upstairs and into her room.
Astrid laid there, sleeping peacefully. Hiccup didn't want to wake her up but he had to. He carefully walked over to the bed and sat down slowly. He took out the box from his pocket and opened it.
Hiccup laid it in front of Astrid's face, a few inches away. He then leaned down and placed a sweet and soft kiss on her cheek. Astrid groined and her eyes fluttered open.
Hiccup straightened himself and looked at Astrid.
The blondes sapphire eyes landed on the box in front of her. Astrid just looked at it before she heard something else breath beside her. She turned her head and saw Hiccup sitting on the edge of the bed with a nervous smile.
"Good morning, M'lady..." Hiccup said softly before taking the box and standing up. He walked towards the middle of her room and got down on one knee. Astrid's breath caught in her throat.
"Astrid, you are the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen. I'm so sorry for what happened. I shouldn't have lied. I'm sorry. I was just nervous about you saying that marriage isn't your thing. I'm sorry for everything. I love you Astrid. And I will always love you. I want to wake up every morning beside you. I want to protect you even I you can do it on your own. I want you in my life again Astrid. Not just as a girlfriend, but a wife. I want to see small child's, looking like you, running around the house. I want it all with you. I would do anything to make you happy. So, Astrid Hofferson, will you marry me?"
The blonde looked at Hiccup. "After what you've done? You swore to me once that we won't lie to each other, ever again, but you did. Can you imagine me, sitting here on my bed, crying like a child because I thought that it was the end of us? Hiccup! Mice been waiting so long for you to ask me and then, you suddenly lie? Can you get this though your head, when I say...that I'm sorry to for burying out on you. I will marry you! I've been waiting forever but then, this happens. No thanks. I don't want this anymore. I will marry you!"
(A/N: Sorry if it's confusing, Astrid is trying to confuse Hiccup. Get what I mean? No? Alright!)
Tears where streaming down her face when she finished speaking. Hiccup looked at her. "It's alright if you don't want to marry m- wait? You said that you will?" Hiccup asked stunned.
Without any reply, Astrid jumped out of the bed and threw herself into him. She hugged him around his neck and cried onto his hair. Hiccup managed to shut the bock before they fell to the ground. Hiccup laughed and hugged Astrid around her waist with all his force.
"I've missed you..." She said. "I've missed you to..." Hiccup said and pulled away his head. He pressed a sloppy kiss on her lips before pulling away. Astrid placed her hand on Hiccup's cheeks.
But, her brows furrowed. "What's the matter?" Hiccup asked. "You shaved?" Astrid asked. "Yeah..."
"Hiccup...you know that I hate full grown beards but stubble...it is the most sexiest thing I know."
Hiccup's eyes widened before a smile crept onto his lips. "Just wait for a few days, it will grow back..."
"Don't you think that I know?" Astrid asked. "I mean...I shave my legs, armpits and...um, down there..." She said and blushed. Hiccup looked at her with confused eyes. "Down there? You girls have if to? I thought that it only where us, guys."
Astrid face palmed. Of course! Wow, you know everything about dragons but nothing about woman!" Astrid joked. "I mean, I know almost everything about you..."
"Yeah, sure."
"It's true. You have a birthmark on the right side of your ribs, which you hate. You have few scars on your arms after working in the forge. The scar you got on your chin is from Cloudjumper. You are ashamed of your freckles, - don't be, I love them... - and you hate the scar on your stump."
Hiccup signed. "True..."
"But why do you hate it? I don't get it! I mean, your freckles are cute. Your birthmark must be adorable. I love you scars, all of them" She said and pecked the small scar in his chin.
"By the way, I said it a few times before and I say it now to. I will marry you. I'm also sorry for how it played out. I didn't mean to freak out at you. I should have listened. I'm sorry" Astrid said and knotted her hands in his hair.
Hiccup smiled and looked at her. "I love you, future wifey..."
Astrid laughed. "I love you to, future hubby. I love you to" She said the last sentence with a whispered as she leaned it.
Hiccup got it and captured her lips. It became a heated make-out session right away. Tongues tangled with each other. Astrid's hands moved from his hair to the side of his face. She held it tightly, brushing one of her hands though his hair every now and then.
Hiccup smiled before pulling away. He noticed their current position. He was sitting cross-legged on the floor. Astrid was sitting in his lap, her legs on either side of his, straddling him.
She wanted to get off, not to hurt Hiccup with her spikes skirt but he just shook his head and wrapped his arms around her waist.
Astrid smiled and laid her head on his shoulder. Hiccup leaned the side of his head against hers and stroke her back under the hoodie.
They stayed there a few more minutes before Astrid got off of Hiccup. The two stood up and walked outside of the house.
"Should we tell them?" Astrid asked. "I think we should!" Hiccup said happily as they started to walk towards Great Hall.
That day, the village was the happiest because they got a wife for the chief and soon, they would get a heir.
(A/N: Ow, this is far the longest chapter that or written 'till now. When I do a bottomline on some word, that is how many words there is right now. It's exactly 1645. Hope you liked it, comment and let me know your thoughts!)
