Emotional Question
(A/N: First of all, hAVE YOU GUYS SEEN THIS ANIMATION ON TUMBLR!? It's amazing and pretty sad. So, I changed it around a little.)
The sun was slowly disappearing behind the sea as Toothless calmly flew over the island, Hiccup and Astrid sitting on his back.
The blonde had her arms wrapped around her boyfriend's waist and her head was laying on his shoulder. One of Hiccup's hands was placed over hers and his thumb was slowly moving over the back of her hand.
Astrid hummed from time to time and buried her nose into his neck, his hair tickling her in the face.
Hiccup smiled and turned his head softly. Astrid pulled her head away from him and looked at him. Hiccup looked at her with a sincere look before putting Toothless' tail into auto and turning towards her. He placed his large hand under her chin and leaned in slightly, his nose brushing hers.
He leaned his forehead against hers and closed his eyes for a few seconds before pulling back.
Placing his other hand on her cheek, he smiled and caressed her cheek with his thumb. "You're so beautiful, milady," he whispered and leaned in, pressing a small kiss to the corner of her lower lip before pulling away and turning forwards, unlocking the tail.
Astrid smiled and wrapped her hands around him, leaning forward and placing a kiss on his yaw, whispering, "You're my perfect boyfriend, babe. I love you," before laying her head on his shoulder.
The rest of the flight was quiet. Sometimes, Toothless would grumble or yawn but else, there was nothing.
Suddenly, Hiccup directed Toothless for a slow and easy dive. Soon, they landed on a cliff with a single tree. Hiccup got off and then turned towards Astrid. He bowed before holding out his hand for her to take. Astrid smiled and got off Toothless, her hand in Hiccup's. He pulled her against him, one of his arms around her waist as the other one was laying around her neck. Astrid laughed softly and wrapped her arms around his back.
"Is there a reason to why you took me here and why you're thing clingy?" Astrid asked, her head laying on his shoulder. Hiccup shook his head, lying.
"I'm sorry, Astrid."
The blonde pulled away, looking at her love. "...Hiccup?"
"I'm sorry. I'm not the boyfriend you deserve. You deserve someone better. I'm not there for you when you need me and that makes me upset. I'm not the one for you...we've been through much and I loved every moment of it but...I can't do this to you anymore. You deserve someone better. I'm not the person for you. I'm not there when you need support. You need someone who's there for you. I'm not the one. I think...to make things better for you...maybe we should...go separate ways..." Hiccup finished, turned away from her.
He glanced back at Astrid and saw her with tears flowing down her cheeks. "Hiccup-" He interrupted her. "No, Astrid. I'm making things easier for you. You deserve better then me."
"Hiccup! Listen to me! I need you. You've been there for me when no one else was and I don't want anyone else then you. You're perfect! When I first got to see you, I wanted to get to know you. You were this interesting person who had a mind of his own and followed his own will. No one would tell him what to do because, even if they would, he wouldn't listen. I wanted to get to know you so bad. I wanted to be friends with you. Eventually, I started to like you. But, I had to push my feelings away because of the others. They told me, "It's him or us. Just know that if you choose him, you'll never be welcome to be with us," I had no other choice then to go with them. I'm so sorry for hurting you and ignoring you when we were smaller. When you and Toothless "kidnapped" me, I realized what you truly meant to me. I wanted to be with you. I was so scared when you and Toothless fought against the Red Death. I though you had died. I don't know what I would do if you were actually gone. Hiccup, you're my everything and I don't wanna be with anyone else then you," Astrid said and slowly walked towards him. She placed her hands on his shoulders.
"You're beautiful and you've always been there for me. Even if you're not actually there, with me at that second, you're there. We've been through so much and I'm not ready to give it up. Ever. I'm not gonna stop fighting for us. I'm fighting for you and me and us. I've always been. You're my boyfriend. I love you. My feelings just grow stronger and stronger every day. You're perfect. Don't you ever doubt yourself. You're here when I need you and I love you no matter what happens. I will always love you," She said and softly turned him around. Teas were flowing down his cheeks and she placed her hands on his cheeks.
"Hiccup, look at me. You're perfect. You've always been. I love you endlessly. I don't want anyone else then you in my life. I want us to become more then just boyfriend and girlfriend. I've been since I was eighteen. I don't wanna loose you. I almost have all of those times. I don't want that to happen. I want you. I need you, babe. I don't know what I would do without you. You're beautiful. You've never hurt me with being yourself. You always make me happy. Even if you're like this, I'm always happy. Because, you're here. You're in my arms. I'm never gonna let you go. I love you, Hiccup. I want us to be more then what we are now...I want us to get married and to start a family. I want to have kids with you. Small copies of you running around the house, reminding me that I have you and that we made it this far. You're my everything. I love everything about you, Hiccup. And, I can't loose you. I just can't. You keep me together. I'm myself when I'm with you. I'm not Astrid Hofferson the fighter. I'm Astrid Hofferson, the chief's girlfriend. I need you, Hiccup. Don't go. You can't leave me. If you wanna make me happy, stay. I know you don't wanna leave. So don't. Everything will be okay. Just...please, don't go...don't go..." The last part came out as a whisper as Astrid hugged him around his waist, crying into his chest.
Hiccup sighed.
"Please..."
He took a deep breath before slowly wrapping his arms around her. "I'm sorry, Astrid. I'm sorry for the way I acted. Forgive me...I'm not going anywhere. I'm gonna stay right here. I'm always going to be here, milady. I promise," Hiccup said and pulled back slightly, placing his hand on her chin and softly lifted her head to look at her.
"I'm not going anywhere, Astrid. I promise."
The blonde looked at him, directly into his eyes and knew that he spoke the truth.
They stood there for a while, gazing into each other eyes before Hiccup leaned down, pressing his lips against hers. Astrid wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled herself closer to him, kissing him harder. Their mouths opened slightly and their tongues met, starting a slow fight. Hiccup pulled away for a second, whispering, "Jump," before kissing her again.
Astrid hummed and a few moments later, she jumped and her legs wrapped around his waist. Hiccup's hands slid down her back, down to her thighs. His hands on her thighs kept her up and he smiled into the kiss.
They stayed there for a good five minutes, taking small breaths sometimes. Astrid slid down from him and stood up. Pulling away, she leaned her forehead against his shoulder. Hiccup wrapped his arms around her waist and pressed kisses to the side of her head.
"I love you, Astrid. I'm sorry for how I acted. I don't know you felt that way. I'm sorry. I love you. I always will. I realize how bad I need you. I'm not gonna go anywhere. I'm always going to be here. I promise. I love you, milady. Therefore, I have a question I've been thinking about. I didn't know if I should ask you but now I know."
Hiccup let her go and walked over to a sleeping Toothless. He opened the saddle bag and reached in. Pulling out a small sodden box, he heard Astrid gasp quietly. When he turned towards her, her hands were covering her mouth and nose. He smiled and went down on one knee in front of her.
"Astrid, from the first day I saw you, I knew I was in love with you. I knew I wanted to get to know you but...I was scared. I always fumbled over words and I shouldn't speak right when I was around you. I was nervous I would screw up something and that you would hate me forever. When you kissed me after I woke up, I felt like I was in heaven. It was the best day of my life. You've been there throughout all of these years and I want to thank you. You've been there when I needed you the most. I wasn't sure if you really wanted this but...after what you just said, I'm sure of this. I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I know I want marriage and kids and all of that. I want everything. With you. Only you. So...Astrid Hofferson, will you do me the huge honor of calling you my wife? Will you marry me?"
When Hiccup was finished, he opened the wooden box, revealing a simple silver ring. Astrid sobbed and cried in happiness. "Yes...of course I'll marry you," She said though the sobs. Hiccup stood up, took the ring out of the box and slipped it onto her finger.
Phew. It fit.
Astrid smiled, looking down at her finger before looking up at her fiancé.
"Thank you for everything, Hiccup. I love you so much," She said and gazed into his eyes. "For you, my darling, anything. I love you too, milady."
She let out a single, small laugh before wrapping her arms around his neck and pressing her lips against his for a second before burying her face into his neck.
"Thank you for everything," Astrid whispered. Hiccup smiled and pulled his head back a little. He pressed his lips against her yaw and then he kissed her neck. Pulling away, he placed his lips at her ear and whispered, "As I said, for you, my darling, anything. I love you, wifey wife."
Shivers ran down her spine and she pulled back, looking at him. "Did you...are we really engaged now?"
Hiccup broke out laughing and pulled away. "Yeah, we're engaged now, milady," Hiccup said though the laughs before placing his hands on her waist, looking at her. They didn't realize that the sun had already set and that the stars were out.
"Mm, I don't wanna go yet. I wanna stay here..."
Hiccup smiled and looked back, towards the Night Fury. "Well, he's out cold so we can't go anywhere tonight. I've got a few blankets and food in the bags. I was planning on a picnic but, we might as well stay here all night," Hiccup said and pulled her against him tightly in a sudden move.
"I'd love that," Astrid said.
Hiccup pressed a kiss to her forehead before pulling away and getting the things.
Astrid smiled and looked at him go. He's so perfect. I can't believe he's going to be my husband soon. I'm so lucky to have him. I can't describe how much I love him. It's endless. Undesirable. We've been through so much and we've made it so far. We'll going to be through so much more but I know that I'm always going to be here to support him. And, I know he's going to be there for me too. I know he's going to doubt himself from time to time. It's how he is. I don't want him to change. He's perfect the way he is and I love him because of that. He's not trying to be something he's not. He's himself and he's perfect the way he is. I love him so much.
"You okay, milady?" Hiccup asked. "Yeah, of course. Everything better when you're around," She said with a smile. Hiccup put the blankets and the food down before walking over to her.
"You're so beautiful," He said softly before wrapping his arms around her and pulling her against him, leaning his forehead against hers. Astrid placed her hands on his chest and felt his heart beat steadily.
She smiled and closed her eyes, loving the feeling of being close to her fiancé. "You're perfect, babe."
Hiccup smiled and tightened his grip on her, pulling back to kiss her cheek. "I love you," they said in unison. Pulling away, they walked over to the things and laid out the blankets, getting ready for the night.
A few minutes later, they laid down. Astrid's fur hood, spike skirt and shoulder pads were removed along with Hiccup's chest armor, inferno and prosthetic leg to make things more comfortable.
Astrid snuggled into her fiancés chest and smiled, pressing a small kiss to his skin that was showing between the strings on his shirt.
They dozed off slowly, Hiccup pressing kisses to her hair as they did.
Little did they know, they would wake up with smiles on their faces because of what happened the night before.
Everything would be okay. They had each other. And, as long as they had each other, they were happy. Things would get hard but they knew that, with their love, they could defeat anything. No matter what it was.
(A/N: This chapter is for you, hiccupness856 I love you endlessly. I always will. You're perfect. You're everything I've ever wanted and never got. We've been through more then many people can thing but it's okay. We have each other. I have you. And, for as long as I have you, I'll be okay. I'm not gonna stop fighting. Ever. I promise.
I love you.)
