(A/N: Request by: @Dance_andFangirl. Prompt: "Could you possibly make a chapter about Hiccup making Astrid's HTYYD2 axe?" I changed up a few things. You'll notice.)
The forge was hot as the early morning sun was rising over the horizon. A new day meant another opportunity to be done with a special thing he had been working on for the last couple of days.
Usually, a double-sided axe would've taken him roughly four hours to make.
But, he wanted this one to be perfect.
A perfect weapon for the perfect lady.
Hiccup smiled. It would be their four year anniversary tomorrow and he wanted to surprise her with a gift. He just hoped that Astrid would like it.
Of course she'll like it. She's Astrid. And, she has been telling me that her axe hasn't been in the best conditions lately. All full and cracking on the edges. She desperately needs a new one... Hiccup thought, his hand running along the cold metal of the axe.
Now, all he had to find was a perfect piece of wood for the shaft and then it was just details left.
A knock interrupted him and he turned his head towards the door to his old study.
He smiled.
Golden waves and blue eyes.
"Hey there, Hiccup," Astrid said softly, yawning. "Good morning, M'lady," Hiccup responded with shining eyes and stretched out a hand.
Astrid walked in and he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, bringing her against him and pressing his nose into her hair. "What are you doing up so early?" He mumbled into her hair.
"You know I always wake up this early..."
"Yeah."
Silence fell over them.
Astrid sighed and her eyes drifted down to the head on the axe laying on the table. "Who is this for?" She asked. Hiccup's mind was screaming to not lie but he did it anyway. "Oh, dad wanted a new axe because the other one broke completely," The nineteen-year-old said and pressed his lips to her head.
"Oh," Astrid managed before closing her eyes and leaning against her boyfriend. "M'lady?" Hiccup's soft voice brought her out of her thoughts.
"Yes?"
He lifted the hand he had moved from the axe to the edge of the desk and placed it on the left side of her face. The side he couldn't see.
He gently turned her head towards him and leaned down, pressing a minuscule kiss onto her lips.
Astrid kissed back immediately, her body slowly turning in his grasp so she could access more.
Her arm trailed up his chest and fastened around his neck, pulling him closer.
"Ahem!"
The two flew apart from each other and with horrified looks, stared at the person at the door. "Aye, Astrid. Your parents are wondering where you are..." Gobber said before disappearing.
Needing me? But, they were asleep when I left... Astrid thought and sighed. "I'll see you soon," She said and leaned on, pressing a small kiss to the corner of his mouth.
"Yeah. I'll see you soon."
Just before she disappeared, Hiccup stopped her. "Hey, Astrid?"
The blonde looked back at her boyfriend with a smile. "Yeah?"
"I love you."
A smile spread across her face and her eyes lit up. "I love you too, babe." Then, she disappeared.
Oh, gods. She's so perfect.

Toothless' wings spread out to lessen the speed before landing on the soft ground of the Cove.
Hiccup got off and turned towards the girl sitting in the saddle. He reached out a hand and Astrid laughed at him. "Hiccup, I know how to get off myself..." She said but took his hand anyway.
He smiled and pulled her closer to him, leaning down to place a kiss on her lips. Astrid smiled and let go of his hand, wrapping her arms around his waist. Hiccup broke away and said, "Happy four year anniversary, M'lady."
Her smile widened and she pulled her hands away from his waist, hooking them around his neck. She stood on her toes and pressed a kiss to his forehead. "Happy four year anniversary, babe."
Hiccup smiled, his arms hugging her middle.
The sun was bright and warm on them, warming even the most frozen bits of them after the flight.
Toothless grumbled and warmed the ground underneath him before laying down for a nap.
Astrid pulled away and looked around. "I haven't been to this place in so long..." She said. "Me neither. Still, it feels like it was only yesterday that you found out about Toothless and me and what we were doing," Hiccup said, slowly backing of towards the sleeping dragon to take out her present.
"I feel the same way. But, I regret nothing. Because, now, I have you. And, I couldn't have been...happier..." Her voice faded as she turned around and say the axe he'd been working on yesterday, laying in his hands.
"Hiccup?"
He smiled. "I know you've been complaining so much about you needing a new axe because the old one was just getting worn out and breaking so I made you this..." His voice also trailing off as she walked towards him, her fingers grazing the center of it where the two axes met and formed one.
"I...thank you. It's perfect," She whispered and slowly grabbed it, lifting it up. Surprisingly, it was easy and the detail was so precise.
Hiccup smiled. "I made the actual blondes and head of Gronkle Iron and normal iron. The handle is made out of the same material as your older one and I filed it down so you won't get any splinters. I handmade and added colored leather to match it to Stormfly and the leather around it isn't slippery. Also, i stole your saddle yesterday and added bars to the very back of it to be able to hold it without the axe falling out or hurting you and Stormfly," Hiccup explained.
Astrid looked up from the axe to her boyfriend with watery eyes and carefully would her free arm around him, hugging him.
"Thank you so much, babe. What did I ever do to deserve you?" She questioned him, her voice in a whisper. Hiccup pulled away and placed his hands on her cheeks. "You were yourself. I love you, M'lady."
She smiled and leaned in at the same time he did and they shared a passionate kiss, the axe, - forgotten for a moment.
She made sure to remember to give him the best present he'd ever gotten when they had their five year anniversary.
