We'll See (Day 7)

(A/N: Future Hiccstrid.)

She looked back at him, her eyes glittering and a smile on her face. Her long, golden hair was loose and flowing behind her as she ran.

Her laugher was heard like an echo, returning to him even when she wasn't laughing.

The grassy field in front of her was covered with wild flowers and a forest wall. He had no idea where they were but he didn't care.

No sight of danger as long as his eyes could see.

Astrid turned around in her slow run, stopping and laughing, her voice echoing as she spoke. "Remember this?" She asked and the landscape behind her faded into winter and trees and steep slopes.

He saw her sitting on the back of Stormfly, twisting and turning around trees and rocks, looking back at him from time to time.

Dragon sledding. How could he forget?

"Try to catch up, lazy," She laughed and looked back at him, a wide smile on her face. He didn't feel anything except for the excitement and happiness.

He slid up next to her and suddenly, they stood in Great Hall, her in front of him, wearing a white dress.

"I do," She said, her hands gripping his tightly. A tear rolled down her cheek and he lifted a hand to wipe it away. "I do," He heard himself say before she came leaning towards him.

Just as he was about to kiss her, she moved and now, he saw her half sitting, half laying in their bed, a small bundle in her arms. "It's a boy, babe," Her voice echoed to him. "Destin," he heard himself say and he saw his hand land on her cheek, his thumb caressing it.

A sharp sound broke him out of the moment and he saw her sitting on the floor, a medical box beside her and their eight year old son in her arms. She hushed Destin and patched up the small cut on his arm.

"As good as new," She smiled, pressing a kiss against the boys forehead.

Astrid rose from the ground, Destin no longer in her arms. She stood in front of the fireplace, her hands on her pregnant belly. "Anytime now," He heard himself whisper into her ear, his arms around her as he pressed kisses onto her neck.

"I know. I love you,"

"I love you too."

His eyes flew open and he looked up at the ceiling. The morning sun barely shining its light through the small cracks in the building.

He saw the light dust floating in the air and he smiled, taking a deep breath and rubbing his eyes.

He heard a movement beside him and he looked over, seeing the beautiful lady he first started to love when he was only five years old.

Forty five years later, he's still madly in love with her.

Hiccup slowly turned towards her, placing his hand in her shoulder. Astrid hummed and her eyes opened slowly. She looked around before turning towards her husband slightly.

"Good morning, beautiful," Hiccup whispered, leaning down and pressing a kiss to her cheek. "I'm not beautiful," She protested but she knew she couldn't win that fight.

"Yes, you are. You're still the beautiful young woman I married thirty years ago. Happy Anniversary, M'lady."

"Mmm," She hummed and slowly sat up, rubbing her eyes as she rose. "Happy Anniversary, babe," She whispered and pulled her hand away from her eyes, looking at the golden ring on her finger.

She sighed.

"What's wrong, Astrid?" Hiccup asked, scooting closer to her and sliding his hand under hers, squeezing it. "It's been thirty five years since we got together. Time flies..." She trailed off and he knew something else was bothering her.

"Continue..." He said softly. "Time flies," She continued. "I don't want this to end. I don't want us to end. Ever."

Hiccup laughed and pulled her in, wrapping his arms around her shoulders and kissing the side of her head. "I don't want us to end either but, one day, one if us will go before the other. However, you have to remember that everyone will go to the same place. We'll meet even after we're gone and from there, there's no leaving. I promise," Hiccup said, looking down at her.

"I know. I'm grateful for that at least," Astrid whispered and scooted as close to him as she could, wrapping her arms around his middle lazily and laying her head on his shoulder.

They stayed there for Thor knows how long before finally deciding to get up and deal with another day for being chief and chieftain, parents, grandparents and riders.

(A/N: Chapter begun like a vision when they were around eighteen until Hiccup woke up.

Shitty chapter.)
