Stable (Day 5)
(A/N: Favorite Hiccstrid moment. Recreation of a recreation.)
The sun was slowly setting behind the sea, shining its orange, purple and pink light over the sky and the small island in the middle of nowhere.
Nothing special was happening, really. Just another ordinary day after Drago's attack.
It's been a few months since the tragic incident when the islands chief had passed, saving his only son. Hiccup blamed himself for a very long time. He always told himself that, if he hadn't left when they had talked out him being chief, he wouldn't have found the Dragon Hunters and then, he wouldn't have wanted to find out where the leader to the Dragon Hunters where and because of it, Stoick wouldn't have been dead.
Hiccup felt bad because of it for a long time but, he had an amazing girlfriend who reminded him who he was and what his father did for him.
She reminded him that she was there for him no matter what he did because she would be. They had been together for five years. During that time, they had been through heaven and hell but they managed and they loved each other more then anything.
A smile appeared on the blondes face as she laid eyes on the forge ahead of her.
Months had passed since Drago's attack, sure, but, Berk was strong and with an amazing chief, the island recovered quickly and got stronger then ever.
And, just a few weeks ago, Hiccup has asked her the most life changing question ever. If she wanted to marry him. After five years of being together, they were finally going to get married. Of course, she had said, "Yes." She'd been dreaming about marrying him since they kissed at the stables on Dragon's Edge way back.
Astrid slowly entered the forge and looked around, noticing that no one was there. Well, Hiccup had told her that he would be in the forge before going home at sunset and, it was sunset and he wasn't home so he should be in the forge.
Astrid walked over to the door to his old study and found him there, sitting on the bench, leaned over the desk, scribbling stuff on the paper.
"Babe," Astrid spoke up. Hiccup jumped and almost fell off the bench. Although, the charcoal pen flew out of his hand and landed on the floor.
Astrid started laughing. Hiccup looked at her with an amused face before standing up and walking up to her. "Very funny, M'lady," He whispered, leaning down and burying his nose into her neck.
His arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her into a hug. Astrid wrapped her arms around his shoulder and laid her head on his collar, staying there for as long as he wanted.
"Astrid?" Hiccup suddenly asked, pulling back his head. He looked at her. "Yes?" She asked as she pulled back too, looking up at him.
"I love you," He whispered to her, intending on leaning in. Astrid beat him to it and put a hand behind his neck, pushing him towards her.
She pressed her lips against his and stayed there, kissing him.
Hiccup's eyes were wide for a millisecond before closing and wrapping his arms around her waist, holding her there and kissing back.
Astrid pulled back and leaned her forehead against his. "I love you too, Hiccup."
He squeezed her for a second before letting her go. "What do you say, M'lady? Go home?" He asked. Astrid hummed and grabbed his hand.
"Yes."
