The cold morning temperature felt great for him. The chilly breeze blew him in the face and he inhaled deeply, taking in the moment as he and Toothless soared though the air over Berk, doing their usual morning fly-over to check that everything is okay.

Ever since he became Chief, things had been stressing him to the point of him just having to escape for an hour or two to calm down.

Toothless had been more then happy to get away too. After defeating the Bewilderbeast, the dragons choose him to be Alpha and even a dragon would get stressed from time to time.

Hiccup had woken up earlier then usual, even if he had gotten to bed later then usual because of one special blonde girl whom he loved endlessly.

The last few months since the battle against Drago had been hectic and stressful. The ice was thankfully gone and the houses were all rebuilt but, Hiccup was still grieving after his fathers death.

They had fought twice against Drago. Once outside of Hiccup's long-lost mother's, - Valka's - dragon sanctuary and once on Berk when they were actually able to win.

However, the battle at Valka's sanctuary has taken their passes chiefs life.

The story behind that was because Drago's Bewilderbeast had taken control of Toothless, ordering him to kill Hiccup but his father had saved him, taking the shot and saving his son.

After that, he had become chief and he had pushed everyone away because of the grief, - even his beloved girlfriend, Astrid, who hadn't taken it too grey.

The black Night Fury suddenly grumbled happily and it snapped Hiccup out of his thoughts. "M'lady," He said softly, smiling. Astrid laughed softly and greeted him. "Good morning, babe," She said, maneuvering Stormfly to fly slightly above Toothless.

She stood up on the saddle and jumped down, landing on the saddle behind Hiccup. She sat down, wrapping her arms around his waist and laying her head on his shoulder.

They didn't say anything for a while after that. Hiccup just let go of the saddle bars with one of his hands and placed it on Astrid's, rubbing her cold hands.

The sun slowly rose at the horizon, spreading its orange color across the sky.

Astrid spoke up again. "You know, I missed you beside me when I woke up today. I would've wanted to kiss you and cuddle you before getting ready for today's work," Astrid whispered into his neck, her nose buried under his hair.

Goosebumps ran across Hiccup's body when he felt her breath on his neck. It warmed him even in the coldest mornings.

"I didn't want to leave bed today but, I felt like I had to get away for a little like I do every now and then," He said softly, turning his head towards her.

They gazed into each other's eyes before Astrid raised herself slightly and kissed him. Hiccup smiled into the kiss and pulled back.

"I love you, M'lady."

"I love you too, amazing husband of mine."
