Not So Viking (part two)

(A/N: Followup on, "Not So Viking," in my completed book, "Hiccstrid One-Shot." Hope you like it.

Four years.

Four years had passed since he last saw her. He blames himself for her disappearance. Last time he saw her, they were in that cave, hidden from the storm. He told her that he loved her, - he still does, more then ever - and he's sad everyday.

However, he's a chief. And, he has to take care of his village.

A chief protects his own.

That's what his father said a few hours before he died.

It all started with a Dragon Race on the island. Hiccup had decided to go on a fly with Toothless instead and they stumbled, - more like, crashed - into an island. From there, they went further because they saw smoke, met dragon trappers, found his mom, met Drago, got into a battle with him and his Bewilderbeast who took control over Toothless. Stoick saved him.

Berk's future chief. His and his wife's only son.

So, his father is dead and his mother is found.

"Toothless...it's all my fault. She's gone. We've been searching for her for years. What if..." Hiccup trailed off, bowing his head. Toothless grumbled and turned his head slightly to look at his rider.

He crooned, as if he was reassuring his best friend that everything would be okay. Hiccup sighed and laid down onto Toothless' back.

They just flew slowly.

Hiccup's POV.

It's all my fault. How can I ever forgive myself? I made her leave. I confessed my feelings for her and she left. I thought...she at least liked me.

I love her. I love her more then anything. I wish I could find her. To be able to hold her in my arms. If I get that chance, I'm never letting her go. I can't do it without her.

She...she was there when no one else was. She believed in me. She supported me when I did stupid things. She was everything I had along with Toothless.

I miss her so much.

I wonder how she looks like. I bet she's beautiful. Just like she was when we were younger.

It's all my fault...I wish I could have her back...

Author's POV.

Toothless grumbled and Hiccup sat up. An island in front of them. They had been flying for hours and Toothless needed a rest, so, they decided to land.

Once they reached the island and landed, Hiccup started walking around, exploring. A new island.

Toothless walked after Hiccup. Who knows what could be on the island.

Walking deeper into the island, they discovered evidence that people had been there. And dragons.

Deadly Nadders and Monstrous Nightmares.

Wait, fresh foot prints?

Hiccup pulled out his Inferno and placed his finger on the button, to be prepared in case something jumped out to attack them.

A brush shook and a few seconds later, out came a...

Person?

She was fairly tall, blonde hair in a side braid, blue eyes and slim figure. He just said it.

But, there was no chance it could be her, right?

"A...Astrid?"

The blondes mouth opened slightly and she dropped the wood she'd been holding in her arms. They rolled beside her.

"How..." She trailed off and, her brows un-furrowing and her eyes wide. She looked at the Night Fury beside the guy.

"No way...Toothless?"

His head snapped up and he looked at the girl, grumbling.

Astrid looked at the guy. "Hiccup..." She breathed out and stared at him in disbelief. He dropped his Inferno and rushed up to her, his arms wrapping around her frame.

Never let her go.

"Astrid. I...I missed you so much. I'm so sorry for everything I said and did that day you flew away. I'm so sorry. Forgive me..." He cried into her shoulder, his arms around her back and waist, holding her tightly against him. Astrid smiled, her arms around his neck and her nose buried into his hair.

"Hiccup, I'm so sorry for not coming back. I tried so many times but I never found Berk. I'm lost and I don't know where I am anymore. I've been living here for three years. I have no idea where to go. Take me back with you."

Hiccup pulled back his head and looked at her, his face inched away from hers. "I will never leave you. I'll never let you go," He said and smiled, his nose touching hers. He moved his hands from her waist to her cheeks. He brushed his thumbs over her now puffy cheeks.

"Astrid, come home with me. Be with me. I need you. You have to me my mom," Hiccup whispered against her cheek, his eyes closed and his forehead pressed against hers.

Astrid pulled away. "Your mom? What happened?"

He sat down on the ground and pulled her down with him. He explained everything. From the day she disappeared to that exact second they were in right now. "Oh, I'm so sorry, Hiccup. But, you're chief. Berk must be so proud of you," She said and placed her hands on his cheeks, her thumb moving over his bottom lip. "I'm proud of you. I'm sorry for running away four years ago. I just didn't know what to do. I'm so sorry. I love you too. I cried so much when I couldn't find my way home again. I'm so sorry."

He hugged her. They sat there, on the ground, hugging before Hiccup pulled back his head, locking his eyes with hers. "You're so beautiful, milady. I love you," He whispered before slowly leaning in.

Their lips met and it was the best moment of their life.

Who knew that only a month later, he would cry, seeing her in white, walking down the isle towards him. To be his wife. His companion. His beloved everything.

The women he would love for as long as he lived. Berks chieftess and soon, their unborn baby's mother.
