Letter To Stoick
(A/N: Inspired by the video, "Letter To Stoick," by Kylie Griffee on YouTube because its 1:13 AM right now and I'm outta my mind. I changed it a bit.)
After a long day of working and helping people all around the island, he threw himself in the bed, arms behind his head and eyes closed.
It felt good finally relaxing. Astrid would be home pretty soon. She loved to take a lap around the island before coming home. Sometimes, she had Destin with her.
Oh, well...
Hiccup opened his eyes and looked at his desk with the papers and charcoal pens. Sitting up, a thought rushed through his mind and he smiled slightly.
Standing up, he stretched and yawned before talking over to his desk and sitting on in the chair. He looked at the paper and picked up a charcoal pen.
After thinking for a while, he finally slightly leaned over the desk and started writing.
"Hi dad.
I just wanted to say that we're fine. Everything's fine. I don't know why I'm writing this but I'm here now.
Astrid and I got married two years ago. I couldn't have been happier. You should've seen her. She was beautiful, well, more then usual.
Mom was crying during the wedding. Maybe because it all reminded her of when she married you.
About a year ago, Astrid told me that she was pregnant. I couldn't stop smiling. Me, a father? Oh Thor...
We had a few disagreements but everything was perfect because she was there. She was there as my wife. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
She was perfect throughout it all. Five months ago, your grandson, Destin was born. I couldn't thank her enough for that. I had everything I never even could wish for wanting.
She's bearing my second child now. If it's another boy, we're gonna name him after you.
Thank you for always being there, even when I was more reckless then ever.
I love you, dad.
- Hiccup."
The chief took a deep breath and sobbed once, letting that one teardrop roll down his cheek and land on the edge of the paper, leaving a little wet patch.
"He loves you too. More then anything," Astris's soft voice came from the door leading into the room.
Hiccup jumped slightly and turned around, seeing his wife and child. Destin's hair was slightly wind blown but he was sleeping soundly in her arms.
He stood up and walked over to her, placing his large hands on her waist. "I know," He whispered and leaned in, making sure not to lean onto little Destin, and placed his lips on his wife's, staying there for a while.
After pulling away, he looked her in the eyes. "I love you, milady," He whispered softly, smiling slightly. "I love you too, babe."
Hiccup pulled back and looked down, moving one of his hands from Astrid's waist to place it on Destin's head. His large thumb stroked the little baby's head.
A small smile came from the boy and they both smiled. "Thank you, Astrid," Hiccup said and looked at her. "Why?" She asked and looked at him.
"Thank you for being here. For being my wife and for giving me this amazing life that I live in right now. If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have had this. I wouldn't have been married and I wouldn't have had a born baby and one on the way. Thank you for everything," He said and tightened the hand he had on his waist.
Astrid smiled and pulled out of his grasp, walking over to the crib beside the bed and laying down the sleeping baby. She turned back to her husband and walked over to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and gazing him in the eyes.
Her eyes travelled from his to his lips to his eyes again. "If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have been as happy as I am today, Hiccup. I wouldn't have a beautiful son who's looking like his father, I wouldn't have another one on the way and I surely wouldn't have this ring around my finger. To be honest, this ring is just something that shows other people that we're married. I know that without the ring, you're still my husband. You'll always be. Remember the vows? "In sickness and in health until death do us apart?" I meant that. I love you, Hiccup," Astrid said and hugged him.
"I...I have no idea what to say."
"Don't say anything, just kiss me."
That's what he did.

Later that evening, a few hour before midnight, Hiccup walked over to the beach he with the letter in his hand.
After taking a last look at it, he folded it into a boat and put it in the water.
Standing up, he looked up at the stars and said, "Thank you, dad. For everything. I love you," before turning around and walking home.
Where his wife, mother and son would wait at him.
(A/N: Is it just me or am I in tears because of my own story? I'm such a weak person.)
