Dangerous Reuniting
(A/N: In which Hiccup is a motorcycle rider and Astrid works at the ambulance. The backstory is that Astrid had to move away due to education and hasn't met her past best friend in five years. Enjoy.)
Ah, perfect day to take the bike out for a spin around town, Hiccup thought as he opened his garage door, motorcycle helmet in hand.
"My gods, I don't think I'll ever get over how beautiful this bike is," He said, running a glowed hand through his hair. There was one thing he always promised to wear when going motorcycling and that was; gear. Full body gear if he could.
He had an accident involving his past bike where a car ran a red light and crashed into his left size. His leg had been shattered beyond repair and he had to undergo surgery to remove it; he's a left, below knee amputee but Hiccup knew that was better than to die so he accepted that.
"Okay, lets just roll you out..." Hiccup continued as he drained the handlebars and put the kickstand up. He groaned at the slight weight of it before getting it rolling and moving it out of his garage.
He put the kickstand down to close the garage door and locking it before walking back to his bike. Pulling his phone out of his pocket, he put it onto the phone holder he had mounted onto the bike. Turning his SENA [1] on, he connected it to his phone and began playing his go-to music when he was out riding.
Rolling his shoulders lightly, he adjusted the riding vest under his jacket into a comfortable position before throwing his leg over the bike and grabbing his helmet. He put it on and was pleased to hear the music softly playing in it.
Clasping it shut, he put the key into the ignition and started the bike. Finally, putting his kickstand up, he checked the garage and the bike one last time before slowly starting to drive down the road that led out of his neighborhood.
After his accident, people told him not to ride anymore but, he hadn't listened. How could he? His heart burned for motorcycles and he was an adrenaline junkie, - hence the reason for his bike being able to top 250 mph. [2]
Smiling when he saw there was no cars around, he turned out of his neighborhood and into the road, slowly going to head to the city to just look around.
While the Kawasaki Ninja H2R 1000CC was a beast on a straight track, he knew it was a great bike to take for a small ride around town.
His riding buddies sometimes joked that his bike had an airplane engine and not a motorcycle engine but he laughed it off. It was fun to ride such a fast bike.
Hiccup sighed when he saw a red light ahead. Slowly downshifting, he stopped and waited for for the light to turn green. It took longer than he expected and while waiting, he noticed a guy in a white Chevrolet truck taking pictures of him.
He laughed and did the only thing he thought about doing at that moment; he dabbed.
The guy gave him an, "Eyy!" Before putting his phone down when he saw the light turn green. Hiccup accelerated and drove up to the guy in the truck. He had picked up his phone again to record him and he thought he might as well put on a show.
Pulling a hand away from the handle, he reached up to give the guy a fist bump. Removing his hand from the steering wheel for a second, he gave him a fist bump and Hiccup brought his hand up to his forehead before saluting him.
Putting his hand back on the handle, he accelerated and drove off quickly, the area around him echoing due to the engine.
Hiccup laughed and enjoyed the speed of the bike has he headed towards the highway. He slowed down before continuing his cruising.

Hiccup knew he shouldn't have done that. He was screwed. Accelerating to fast and trying to break wasn't a good idea. His front break locked up and he flew out of his seat at 50 mph, doing a full 180° and landing on his right shoulder.
Oh, fucking hell, Hiccup thought. A searing pain burst through his collar and shoulder, aching down his arm and slightly down his side. "Ow, ow, ow," He groaned and laid still on the road. Moving his head towards his bike, he realized it was only laying a few feet away from him and hadn't skidded more than a few yards after him. He analyzed the damage and realized the only real damage was the front breaks and only a few scratches here and there. No big deal.
"Oh my gods, are you okay?" A person said as he stepped out of his car. Hiccup groaned. He was dizzy, - he probably had a small concussion. "I'm gonna call an ambulance," He said as he kneeled down beside him. A woman appeared above him and asked the same thing as the man did.
Hiccup turned his head towards her and looked at her. She kneeled down beside him and looked at him. "Are you hurt? Anything in pain?"
"I'm okay. I just hurt my arm," He said and lifted his left arm to lift his visor. "Your arm? Where?" She asked. "There's not much pain-" he lied, "-my shoulder hurts a little and my side. Some Advil would be great right now," Hiccup joked.
The woman laughed at him for his joke before shaking his head. "I don't think Advil would help so much," She said before looking up at the man before her. "He complains about his shoulder hurting," She informed.
"Is there somebody you want to call while we wait for the ambulance to arrive?" She asked.
"Ghostbusters."
Another laugh. "At least my humor is still intact," He said before turning his head towards the guy when he spoke. "Ambulance is here in about five minutes," He said.
The woman looked down at him. "Don't try to move or breathe so much," she said. "Not breathe? Good luck to me staying alive," He said with a chuckle but regretted it and groaned. "I told you," She said with a laugh.
"Is my bike okay?" He asked.
The woman looked up and looked at it. "I mean, I can't see it leaking but your right mirror is loose and shattered."
"Great," He deadpanned. "All I care about is it being drivable-" He said but was interrupted by sirens. "They're here," The man said and stood up. The woman looked at him. "I have to go now. I hope you'll feel better," She said. "Yeah, thanks. And thank you for stopping," Hiccup said.
A woman in bright yellow appeared over him. Her hair was blonde that was braided into a pretty unique braid, - one he had never seen before - and her eyes were bluer than the sky above them.
Somehow, he felt like he knew her but, maybe, he had just seen her once or twice when going on a ride. "Hey. How are you?" She asked as her co-worker kneeled down beside him. "I'm okay. My right shoulder is hurting but I can feel everything," he said, already knowing the things they'll ask.
"Right shoulder? Okay," A man said, also wearing yellow. "You wanna tell us what happened?" The girl asked.
"Well, I was just driving when my front break suddenly locked up and I flipped off of it. I landed on my shoulder so, either I dislocated it or I broke my collarbone because this shit hurts," He confessed.
The girl nodded. "Do you know what speed you were going?"
"I don't think I was going over 50 when I looked at my speedometer."
"Okay. On a scale of 1 to 10, how bad is the pain?" The girl asked, placing her hand on his left bicep to let him know she was there. "Probably a 5-6 at the moment," Hiccup said. "5-6? Any back or neck pains?"
"No, not really. My side hurts a little but it's probably just a bruise."
"Okay. Well, we're going to get you on a stretcher and take you to the hospital. Unless, you can walk on your own? Does your legs hurt?" She asked. "No, not really. My prosthetic is loose though," He said, not ashamed to confess that he was an amputee.
"Prosthetic?"
"I was in an accident more than a year ago. A car ran a red light and before I noticed, it ran right into me. Shattered my leg and I had to get it amputated. It's my left leg, from knee and down."
"O-oh. Well take care of that," She said and smiled at him.
Well, the process of getting into the stretcher wasn't fun but, once he was in the ambulance, it was okay and he was glad it was over. "Maybe we should take your helmet off?" The girl asked. "I guess. I can't really do that with one hand though," Hiccup said and bent his neck a little, allowing her to unbuckle the clasp.
She pulled it off slowly, making sure not to hurt him. "You okay...?" She asked but trailed off when she saw him.
Beautiful, bright green eyes, shaggy auburn hair, freckles and thin lips that curved into a small, lopsided smile that showed off his crooked and somehow, cute, uneven teeth.
A name popped into her head but she wasn't sure if she wanted to ask him and maybe making a fool of herself if she was wrong.
"Is there something wrong?" Hiccup asked and looked at her. "N-no, you...you just look familiar to a friend I had a few years ago," She confessed. "Oh? What was he like?" Hiccup asked.
"I don't want to bother you," She said as her co-worker closed the door to the ambulance and walked over to the driver side to drive to the hospital.
"It's a long way to the hospital. We have time. And, I'm curious," Hiccup said with a smile.
"Okay. He was a shy little kid when I first met him. I thought he was really weird because he read books and drew dragons and he didn't like stuff the other guys did but, when I got to know him, he was a really sweet guy and I really liked him. However, barely a year or so after that, I had to move away due to education and it broke my heart because I didn't know when I would be back and when I could meet him again. It's been five years now and, I feel like I'll never meet him again. I didn't get a chance to confess to him and I didn't get a chance to get his number and I guess I just really miss him. I tried dating other guys but...he was still in my mind and I'm sorry for rambling on about this. You just really look like him and it reminded me of him. Sorry," She apologized, looking away.
"Hey, it's okay. What was his name?"
"Everyone knew him as Henry but I called him Hiccup because that was his real name..."
Bing.
Astrid Hofferson had moved away when he was a teen and he'd lie if he said he had fallen head over heels for her. She was absolutely amazing in everything she did and he thought they had a chance but she had moved away and he hadn't met her since then. Well, until now. Until this weird situation brought them together.
"Fate does weird things, huh?" He asked and looked at her, the corner of his mouth tugging into a smile. The blonde eyed him in confusion before looking at him. "Huh?" She asked, dumbfounded.
"Astrid, it's me," He said with an eye roll and a smile.
Her face changed in a second and she almost jumped onto him. "No way..." She said before leaning over him and hooking one arm around his neck, careful with his injured shoulder.
Hiccup hesitated but wrapped his arm around her neck, hugging her back. "It's been a while, hasn't it?" He asked, his nose buried into her neck. "I missed you so much," Astrid whispered into his shoulder. "I know, I've missed you too. You have no idea how bad I regretted not asking you out."
Astrid just nodded against his shoulder, not wanting to let him go.
During the rest of the ride, they exchanged everything from phone number to Snapchat username and Astrid promised she'd visit him after her shift was over.

"I still can't believe I met you," Astrid said as she was sitting beside him on the couch at his place. She twisted around and placed her hand on his chest, placing her chin on it and looking up at him.
Hiccup chuckled and slid his arm around her, laying his hand on her waist. "I know, but, I'm glad you did," He said and pressed his lips against her forehead and stayed there. "I mean," He began after pulling away. "I'm kinda glad I got into that accident," He said.
Astrid gasped and pulled back, slapping his chest. "Don't dare saying that!"
Hiccup laughed. "It's true though." Astrid grabbed the remote and paused the movie. "I know but, still, don't say that..." She said as she swung her leg over his and sat down in his lap. She scooted up slightly to not sit so far away from him (and to not put more weight on his leg) and her stomach bumped his. She slid her arms around his shoulders and trailed a hand into his auburn locks, tangling her fingers into his hair.
Hiccup looked up at his girlfriend, smiling and halos his arm around her waist, his other hand trailing up and down her hip.
"The important thing is that I got to meet you. And that you're doing better," Astrid said before leaning down and pressing her lips against his.
(A/N: Aaand, I'm ending it there because I'm mean. Okay, so, I marked two things. 1, SENA is a Bluetooth connection device that goes onto bicycle and motorcycle helmets to listen to music to and to talk to other people that have SENA installed. 2, the Kawasaki Ninja H2R 1000CC goes at 250 mph which is 400 km/h.)
