Concert

(A/N: What about some Hiccstrid action at an NF concert?)

The sound of smooth piano notes started playing in the speakers and everyone cheered, knowing exactly what song was about to be sung.

Lights started flashing to the growing beat of the song and Astrid cheered, finally being able to attend a concert of her favorite rapper.

She had waited so long to be where she was right then. After accidentally listening to one of his older songs from his album, Therapy Session, she had fallen in love with the music and message he was sharing.

Jumping and singing along to the song, Astrid was quite enjoying herself, even though she came alone.

Somebody get the body bags, working with beats and put the MC's in 'em, season 'em, put 'em on a beat with me, then I'm eating 'em.

Get away from the table, you rappers ain't hungry enough, you rappers ain't hungry like ah, they talk about me like I'm here, they talk about you like you was-

Her happy moment was interrupted by the back of a guy blocking her vision and she grunted, trying to look past him.

Raising her hand and running it through her hair, she inhaled and was about to confront the guy when he turned around.

First thing she noticed was how drop dead gorgeous he was and her anger dulled down to a slight irritation.

"I'm sorry, can you still see?" He asked and looked down at her before putting his hand on his forehead and answering himself. "God, I'm stupid, of course you can't. I'm like six feet tall," He said and shook his head at himself.

Astrid cracked a smile, not even angry at the guy. She laughed, although it was barely heard as the songs beat picked up.

"Here," He started and grabbed her shoulders, dragging her to the space in front of him and "parking" her. "You can stand in front of me, I can see over your head," He said and then went quiet as he went back to watching the concert. [1]

Astrid was blown away at this random guy's gesture but she thanked him. He probably didn't hear it as the song neared it's drop but she made sure to find him after the concert to thank him properly, - maybe even getting to know that stranger.

Strap a grenade to my head, pull out the pin
My music is mind blowin', ain't nobody do it like I do it.

You ain't never been on my level, I gotta part 'em out the way, to keep 'em talking and acting like everybody gonna get up in a sleep with your eyes open.

You wanna know what I noticed?

Astrid cheered as NF sang the next part and pointed out to the crowd. Knowing almost every one of his songs, she rang along like most people in the crowd.

"I look around at my fanbase and they ready!
That last album was heavy, that last album was gritty! How you gon' match that? Just let me do what I do best, you're better off playing Russian roulette then comin' in a booth with me cause I get a little bit intense, I'm like, "Who's next?"!"

She heard the stranger laugh behind her and she joined him. Later, they sang along at the songs they knew together and killed NF's new song, "The Search."

During some part of the concert, they even managed to take a selfie, both looking happy and like they'd known each other for a lifetime.

When the concert ended, she looked everywhere for him without success and drove home, disappointed to have missed the opportunity to find out what his name was.

Maybe it was supposed to be like this? Two complete strangers meeting at a concert, sharing the same taste in music and instantly connecting and then never seeing each other again.

God, anxiety was weighing down on her. Laying on her stomach on her bed and looking at the picture they'd taken (one for each phone) two weeks ago made her feel so sick inside.

She couldn't have already started liking him?

They'd only barely spend two hours together, rapping along and...laughing and enjoying each other company. She wanted to cry. Maybe it was her hormones acting up cause she had never felt this bad about not knowing someone's name.

A messenger notification popped up and she sighed, opening it. Her friend, Heather, was texting her, sounding all excited.

Astrid called her, not bothering with texting. Before she could even ask what was up, Heather practically yelled at her through the camera. "You won't believe what I found!"

The blonde rolled her eyes. "What now?" She asked, headache coming in. "That guy at the concert," Was all Heather said before her phone vibrated.

Astrid looked at her. "What...?"

"Yeah! You know that guy I'm dating right now? Ferris...he knows the guy you met at that concert. Look at what I sent you in the chat!!" Heather said, voice pitching higher the more excited she got.

Astrid quickly swiped away from the call, closing it from her screen but still hearing Heather's squealing. She saw a link with the same picture she had on her phone.

Quickly clicking on it, it brought her to a Facebook profile and post.

"Henry Haddock?" She questioned. She heard Heather humming in agreement. "Read it!"

"Okay, okay!" She said before inhaling.

"I'm looking for the blonde girl on the picture. I met her at an NF concert on the 14th of this month, - July - and I was dumb enough to forget asking for her name. I miss her and I would like to meet her again. Please share so I can find her, - Henry."

"Girl, he's in loveeee," Heather sing-sang on the other end of the call before laughing.

Astrid didn't say a word, looking at the picture and then at his name. "Oh my god, text him already! I know you want to!"

"Of course I want to but it's soon midnight! I don't want to bother him..." She said and tapped on the call, Heathers face appearing on her phone screen again.

"Astrid, he went out of his way and wrote a fucking Facebook post searching for you. He obviously wants to know you and I don't think he'll mind if you text him now. Shoot him a DM," Heather said, pep talking her.

"Okay, fine!" She gave in, swiping away from the call and opening Facebook, tapping on his name and opening messenger.

Her fingers paused over the keyboard. "What the hell should I write though?" She asked.

She could hear Heather's shrug. "I don't know. Just tell him it's you from that concert?"

"Maybe..."

Astrid thought about it a little before starting to write.

"How does, "Hey stranger, it's the girl from that NF concert," sound like?" Astrid asked, her fingers hovering over the "send" and "delete" button.

"It sounds good. SEND IT," Heather said in a manly voice that made both of them laugh.

Astrid took a deep breath, calming down and sending it.

"I sent it."

Heather howled and cheered excitedly, hopeful that this guy would be the one for her friend. She didn't want to see Astrid getting hurt anymore.

Sent.

Delivered.

Read.

"He read it!" Astrid squealed, as did Heather, more excited than ever. "I'll leave you to it but you have to tell me everything later!" The black haired girl said from the other end of the call before ending it.

Astrid's heart pounded in her chest. Earlier, she had felt so bad that she had become nauseous and now it was the nervousness' fault.

His answer pulled on her heartstrings.

"I can't believe it. I'm sorry for bothering you by posting that, I just felt so bad for possibly never seeing you again. Sorry for being weird."

A smile tugged itself onto her lips as she wrote a response. "No, no, don't be sorry. I kind of felt the same."

"Oh, wow. Not to be creepy but maybe we can meet again?"

Astrid laughed, feeling happier than she had these last few weeks since the concert. "I'd love to meet you again. Where do you live?"

"East Creek Ridge, Postmill Drive 20. You?"

"Highland Hollow, Sunny Oaks 14," She replied, quickly opening Google Maps and typing in his address.

It was a 40 minute drive from her. She exhaled, relieved that he didn't live in another state.

"That's not too far away. Wanna meet up someday?" He asked and Astrid smiled.

"Sure, I'd love to."

•••

Astrid turned the key and the engine died down. She inhaled deeply and tried to quiet the butterflies in her stomach. They had agreed that Astrid would drive to his city because he had dropped his car off a few days before at the Chevy dealership for a complete change of the cooler system.

Astrid looked around from inside her car, not remembering she was this nervous last time she met him. She was just about to step out when someone knocked on her window. She looked outside and saw auburn hair and a pretty smile.

Henry backed up, letting her open her door and step out.

"Hi," Was all Astrid could say when she saw him, at a loss for words.

His smile widened, his eyes shining. "Hi," He replied, feeling the slight awkwardness between them. He thought of something that could get rid of the silence between them. His eyes landed on the red Toyota Highlander behind her.

"Nice car, when'd you get it?"

Astrid looked up at him and then turned to her car, putting a hand on it. "My parents gave her to me on my 15th birthday. They bought it new in 2012 but passed it over to me on my birthday. Dad gave me driving lessons until I got my licence and Cherry officially became mine," She said, turning back with a smile on her lips.

Henry raised an eyebrow. "Cherry?" He asked and looked at her. Astrid giggled, nodding. "Yeah, I named her Cherry when my parents bought her because she's red. It stuck and she's been Cherry ever since," Astrid confessed, a slight red tint on her cheeks.

"Well, it's fitting," Henry said and gestured to the Pizza Hut beside then, - a food date was never a bad idea.

"Yeah, it might be really weird but I'm attached to her. She gave me freedom when I needed it the most and she's always reliable. You probably think I'm crazy for talking like that about a car." [1]

Henry gave her a wide eyed look. "No, not at all. I get what you mean," He confessed and stepped forward, being a gentleman and opening the door for her. Astrid thanked him and they went inside, up to the counter and both ordered and payed before sitting down at a table.

Starting up their old conversation, she leaned forward and rested her elbows on the table. "So, what kind of car so you have?" She asked with a smile.

Henry smiled. "Chevrolet Suburban LTZ 2016," He said proudly. "It's my everything beside my parents and cat so, I get what you mean by being attached to a vehicle."

Astrid furrowed her eyebrows and looked at him. "If I may ask...isn't that car huge?"Astrid asked and pulled her phone out of her pocket.

Henry leaned forward. "No need to Google, I'll show you a picture of him," He said and Astrid laughed softly, seeing their food arriving.

She had already taken a huge bite out of her pizza when Henry turned his phone to her, showing her a big black vehicle with him standing beside it. She looked at it properly, eyes travelling over the picture as she tried to swallow her food.

Finally succeeding, she looked at him when he turned his phone away.

"Holy hell, that's massive!" Astrid exclaimed.

Henry nodded, saying, "Yeah, it is but it's the safest and most comfortable car I've ever driven," before he took a big bite out of his own pizza.

"Touche."

They spend the next two hours eating, talking and simply getting to know each other. Once finished and feeling the need for fresh air, they left Pizza Hut and walked towards the only red car in the parking lot.

Henry stumbled slightly and caught himself before Astrid could notice, - or so he thought. She stopped and placed a hand on his shoulder. "You okay?" She asked and looked at him properly, eyes full of concern.

"Yeah. My leg is acting up, sorry about it," He apologized and opened the door on the passenger side. "Okay," Astrid said and left it at that, - at least until she noticed him rubbing his knee while she was driving.

"You sure you're alright?" She asked once she stopped at a red light. Though gritted teeth, he nodded and said, "Yeah, I'm good."

Astrid wasn't blind though.

"Okay, spill the beans. I'll drive you home," She said and quickly typed in his address on her phone.

Henry sighed. "I was in a car accident a few years ago. Lost my foot and became a below-knee amputee. It loves to act up. I understand if you don't wanna be with a handicap-" Astrid caught him off. "Do you think such a minor thing would make me not want to talk of hang out with you anymore?" She asked, giving him a dead serious face for a moment while shifting down and turning in on the street before his.

Henry shrugged beside her. "I don't know," He said softly and the continued. "It's messed up everything every single time while I tried to date," He said and paused, not wanting to bore her with his crap.

"Henry, it doesn't matter whether you have a prosthetic or not. I don't care, I want to get to know you better," Astrid confessed, pulling up the hand-break and turning off the engine.

Henry sat silent for a few moment before he looked at her. "Do you really mean that?" He asked, his voice hesitant.

Astrid sighed and got out of her car, walking around the back and opening the passenger door, his face leveling with hers due to the height of the car.

"I mean it," She said softly, looking at him with a smile.

Henry pulled himself out and stood in front of her, a slightly crooked smile on his lips. He reached forward and placed his hand on her shoulder. "Thank you, Astrid," He said and softly tugged her towards him for a hug.

Astrid smiled and nodded slightly against his shoulder, her nose buried in his leather jacket.

Pulling back slightly, he bit his lip as he watched hers.

Astrid gave him a smile and a slight nod and he gave her a happy face, leaning in. Their lips met and Astrid grabbed two fist fulls of his jacket, holding him close so he wouldn't escape. His arm snaked around her waist and pressed her against him, kissing her until her mind became a huge mess.

Henry pulled back an inch before he spoke, "Call me Hiccup, it's a nickname," He said with a small chuckle. Astrid pulled her head back so she could look at him. "Hiccup? How come?" She asked.

He told her how he was born two months premature with a hiccup and that it had stuck with his parents. His real name was Henry but everyone used Hiccup so why wouldn't the girl he dated?

Astrid definitely had a laugh throughout his small storytelling and he promised to tell her more about himself and different events in his life both on phone and the next time they met.

(A/N: Well, this one got out of hand and wrote itself. I marked a piece with a [1] and I meant to explain that you can get attached to a car or bike place. It's totally normal. I don't know why I addressed it but I felt like I should. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this one ;).)
