Brightness (Day 6)
(A/N: Free Day. Astrid's smiles brightens his day no matter how bad he feels.)
Hiccup's POV.
Her smiles.
Oh gods. The way she smiles. She's so beautiful when she's happy. I mean, not that she's not beautiful anyways but, her whole face lights up when she smiles and her eyes glitter with happiness.
All I want to do is to hold her in my arms forever and make her happy so I can see that smile more.
She's so perfect.
I smile at her as she's laughing and reach out, placing my hand on her cheek. I move my thumb, caressing the soft skin on her face.
We're standing in the Cove, the starry sky above us and the moonlight shining down at us, giving the Cove a silvery light.
I had set up a small flight and dinner thing because I haven't been able to be with her so much the last couple of days because of me being chief.
She slowly stops laughing and looks directly into my eyes, still smiling. I look at her and raise my right hand, - my free hand - and place it in her waist, just above her skirt and pull her in.
Her hands land on my chest and I look down at her.
I'm thankful for my growing spurt back when I was eighteen years old. I grew and I hit puberty and Astrid always says, "Puberty did it right," even if I don't really agree and get what she means.
At least I'm glad I grew taller then her.
But, I don't really care.
She's my everything. She will always be my everything. Me and her have been through everything and nothing and, we made it.
I love her beyond belief and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. Even if she probably expects that I'm gonna propose to her, I'll still do it but, I want to do it later tonight. Not right now.
Right now, I just want to hold her and not take the moment for granted.
I learned that after I lost my father when he saved me.
"Astrid," I whisper, leaning my forehead against hers. "Yes?" She breathes out and I feel her breath on my face. I pull back and look at her.
"I..." I can't even say it. We've said it a million times before but, I can't say it now. I just can't.
I wrap my arms around her and pull her in extra close, bending my neck slightly and pressing my lips against hers.
I missed this.
These long, passionate kisses. I love them.
I love her.
Always will. That's a promise I can keep and the gods above us can agree. I know that she will marry me. We've talked about getting married months back but, I always waited for the right moment.
The right moment was now.
I pulled back and got down on one knee, pulling out a small ring from my pocket. I held her right hand in my left hand as i was down on one knee, looking up at her.
She smiled and already nodded before I could ask her but I still did. "Astrid Hofferson...will you do the honor of marrying me and being my wife?"
She continued nodding and got down on her knees in front of me. "Yes," She whispered out. I slipped the ring on her finger and I wanted to stand up but she threw her arms around me and buried her face into my neck.
Right then, I knew that no matter how hard times would be, she would always be there for me and I would always be there for her.
She was my family now. She had always been but she just got closer to my family.
And, maybe, one day, we'll have kids who's going to look like their beautiful mom.
But, right now, I just want to hold her in my arms and appreciate the moment for as long as it'll last.
(A/N: Aaaaaand, another engagement. I think, the more time that passes since the second movie came out, the more I feel like they're already engaged/married. I just love the idea of them being married. Don't blame my shipper heart.)
