Astrid's POV.

How am I supposed to tell him?

It's only been a week since the war with Drago and his Bewilderbeast and...this might be too much for him. He's the chief. He has so many things to handle and this really shouldn't be one of them right now.

I love him and I know he feels the same about me but...what if this is just too much for him and he decides that it's not for him right now? What will I do then?

I don't want him to hate me for the rest of his life...i wouldn't be able to live with that.

I need to tell him.

But, at the same time, I'm scared. I don't know how he'll react and I really want him to be happy. I'm scared he won't be...

Author's POV.

Hiccup sighed, looking down at the papers on the desk in front of him. A small candle was flickering beside him, on the edge of the desk and, honestly, it wasn't really the best place to put it.

The night sky had already fallen over Berk and the stars were shimmering brightly in the sky along with the glowing moon.

Hiccup lifted his hand and ran his fingers through his hair. He needed a bath. But, he had to get the paperwork done. If wasn't any rush to finish them but he was yes them done sooner then later so they would be out of the way.

Toothless crooned and his head appeared beside him, his snout, inches away from his shoulder. "I know, bud," Hiccup started and looked at his best friend, his hand landing on the scaly skin under his eye.

Hiccup's eyes drifted to the saddle and the tail. "You want to go to sleep, huh?" He asked and Toothless nodded visibly. "Then, let me take this off you."

Hiccup stood up and walked over to Toothless' neck where the strap for the neckpiece was. After unclasping it, Toothless stood and Hiccup reached under his stomach, undoing that strap too. The saddle part around his front legs loosened and he stepped out of them.

Hiccup walked around the Night Fury, his hands trailing along Toothless' side before he reached his tail and took it off along with the strap around his tail.

After getting that done, he grabbed the tail and put it on a hanger on the opposite side of the room, - it being the right side.

Toothless yawned and blinked at Hiccup as he walked back to him and took the saddle off of him, also handing that on the wall.

Toothless turned around and trotted over to Hiccup, giving him a small lick of the cheek. He laughed and patted the dragon's head.

Toothless closed his eyes before pulling away from his rider and walking over to his rock stone, heating it up and then laying down.

Hiccup sighed and smiled at him, also wishing he could sleep at that moment.

However, a knock came from the entrance to his room. He looked over to who it was and laid eyes on blonde hair, blue eyes and a beautiful face.

"Astrid? What are you doing here?" He asked softly, taking a step or two towards her. Astrid walked into his room and stopped when she was in front of him. "I let myself in. You always told me I basically live her so...that's what I did. Do you mind?" She asked, her voice, soft, just above a whisper.

"No, of course I don't mind. It's always great to see you, M'lady," Hiccup said, his voice dropping or her tone. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close, pressing her softly against him.

Her arms settled between them, hands on his chest. Hiccup buried his nose into her hair and relaxed.

After a minute or two, Astrid pulled away, looking at him. "Hiccup? Can you...can you please sit down?" She asked, her voice hesitant. He looked at her.

"Astrid? Is everything alright?"

"I guess...I just want you to sit down for this. And, please, don't be mad..."

He looked at her and pulled her in tighter then before, pressing his nose against hers. "I could never be mad at you, you know that," He said before pressing his lips against hers for a good moment.

"I know, just, sit down..."

He did as he was told and sat down on the edge of his bed, looking at her.

"This may come as a surprise or you may be chocked and...I know we discussed this a few weeks ago but..." She paused and turned away. "You always said you wanted to marry me. And, trust me, I want it too, but...we also discussed starting a family after we're married."

Astrid took a deep breath and turned back towards him. "But, we already have. Before marriage," She said. Hiccup's face only showed one emotion.

Confusion.

"What are you saying, Astrid?"

"Hiccup, I'm pregnant."

The chief looked at her, his eyes, wide. "I'm sorry. I know you never wanted it to be before marriage and I messed up. I'm so sorr-" He interrupted her.

"Astrid."

Hiccup stood up and walked over to her, his face, serious. However, he grabbed her by the waist and swirled her around, smiling. "This is amazing!" He said, putting her down.

"You...you're not angry?" Astrid asked, her voice a little hesitant. "No! How could I be? I have everything I could've ever wanted. Thank you," He said, his arms wrapping around her waist and his face buried into her shoulder.

Astrid let out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"You're welcome."
