H I C C U P

I woke up to a blinding light. I saw a phone on a wooden desk, ringing loud.

The ringing also might have awoken me.

I was so annoyed, that I picked up the phone and and flushed it in the toilet.

'I don't even care whose phone is that.'

I sighed.

But wait...

Where am I?

A tall woman entered the door, gasping unexpectedly and rushing towards me. She hugged me really tight that made me choke.

"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry." She apologized.

I pushed her away from her grasp on me.

I looked at her madly and asked, "Who the Thor are you?!"

When she heard those words that came out from my mouth, I instantly saw a glint of sadness and shock in her eyes.

"Hiccup..."

"You what?" I asked, oblivious of what she's saying.

She... Hiccuped?

"Your name is... Hiccup." She let out a half-smile. Probably a sad one.

I chuckled loudly.

"Who in Odin would even name me as 'Hiccup'? Must be an idiot like you. I DON'T EVEN KNOW YOU!" I sarcastically replied.

Who is this woman?

Right there... She started letting out tears.

"...You are my child." She told me.

"...My only child. And you forgot all about me." She continued, whispering that I can barely hear her.

With those words, I was shocked.

I insulted my own mother.

"H-how did I not know you?" I replied. This time, more softer.

"You were in a car crash..." She started.

"...You got a memory loss and forgot all about your past." She said.

"How did all of these happen?" I asked, moving closer to the edge of the bed, getting more curious.

"Oh, and where am I? In some kind of nursery room?" I asked.

"And hey! Whose phone is that? I just flushed it on the toilet earlier. It's so annoying." I added.

"Well... You don't have to know how it all happened." She said sadly.

She's hiding something, eh?

"And you're in the hospital," She also said. "And that phone is-- SANTA'S SOCKS YOU FLUSHED MY PHONE?!?" She bursted out.

"Oh, I thought you were a nun visiting me earlier. Teehee. Waaaait. That's your phone?! Oh my dragon, I'm so sorry... Uhh, mom." I said sheepishly.

"Well... That's fine. Although all my old pictures of you... Are in there." She said, sorry.

I smiled warmly.

Then she looked at me straight in the eyes, matching her emerald eyes with mine.

She placed her palm on my cheek, myself rubbing my cheek on her hand.

[A/N: Sorry to interrupt xD But, remember the 'Mother And Son' clip on HTTYD 2?]

I made the move to hug her tightly.

"Mom..."

"Yes?"

"Where's... Dad?"

She broke from the embrace, looking down.

"He already died."

My brows furrowed to sad ones.

"But remember," She started. "Son, I know he's watching you from above. And he always loves you." She grinned.

Another thing came up my mind.

"Hey mom?" I smirked.

"Yeah?"

"Do I have a girlfriend?"

Her eyes widened.

"Uhm... Yeah." She stuttered.

My eyes widened too.

"WHO ON EARTH IS SHE?!" I excitedly asked.

"Well... Isn't her name Trina... Or something?" She swallowed.

She thought for a minute before saying:

"Yeah! Trisha Millane! There are always rumors about the two of you so YEAH! She's your girlfriend." She snapped.

"So where do you plan to go? For the next year?" Ruff asked from behind.

"Not so sure... I guess I'll stay at Greendale." My eyes sparkled.

"So you're staying?!" She asked excitedly.

"Hah! Well, sure!" I smiled reassuringly.

"Awesome! We can go to malls, fail in our quizzes, eat popcorn and watch clips in bathrooms, and skip classes! Just like the old days." She sighed happily. "Good times... Goooood times."

I laughed at her bubbly self but then turned unhappy at the sound of 'Just like the old days.'

It WON'T be like the "old days" we used to have before...

...Not without...

Hiccup.
