"No, seriously, man, anything wrong? You seem... kinda... not rad. Dude, you look gloomy! Hiccup Haddock doesn't look gloomy!" Tuffnut, loser extraordinaire, and weirdly enough, one of my best friends, pointed out. I love this dude despite all his obvious flaws. He's an idiot, sure, but his all-too metal dreads make him look extremely attractive.

To the ladies, of course, maybe gentlemen too, who knows. Just not me. It's no homo for the dudebro.

"You look... I don't know, extremely distressed, my guy. You in a love slump or nah?" He asked. I just glared at him, trying not to waste precious energy. How'd this idiot have an idea of what a love slump is — I have absolutely no idea.

"What? Stop looking at me like that! Your fault you're in love!" 

"I'm not, Tuff! The first week of school has barely ended yet. I've got problematic pop quizzes to worry about."

He stared at me blankly, a sentimental, weirdly judgmental look on his face. I can't decide if he's pitying me or insulting me. "Don't care," he huffed, "If you excuse me, I'm gonna go to my local man-cave so I can get away from my un-awesome sister and her equally un-awesome friends."

I shook my head and chuckled, standing up to enter Physics for fifth period.

"I told you I'm not open for dating! Pete's sake, dude," I brawled out a tired, exasperated sigh. Snotlout, snotty-dude just won't snot out.

"Hey, Nutty! Don't bother in my business or you'll be swarmed by wasps!" Called out my un-awesome twin.

"Hel's a Nutty?" I yelled. "And how on earth are you gonna skip out, idiot! Class is about to start!"

"You're the idiot! Ass-face," Tuffnut huffed.

"Jerkwad!"

"Disgusting furry!"

"Go jerk off to your hentai!"

"Maybe I'll go do that!"

"Okay! Get some stupid erectile dysfunction."

I didn't wait for him to reply, and out of my own annoyance, I dragged the snot-dude with me. I'm only realizing that now.

I entered Algebra.

At the corner of my eye, I saw Astrid. Is she taking all the same classes with me? Suddenly not all hope is lost. I swiftly took a seat beside her, beaming out a warm, radiant smile. I got surprised when she returned it back.

"Hey," I smiled.

She suddenly frowned. 

"Is — is something bothering you?" I stuttered.

"N-no, sorry, gotta sit somewhere else," she muttered.

When she was about to stand up, I held her hand, "Hey, why do you keep ignoring me?"

Then suddenly multiple eyes are on us, I immediately felt uncomfortable. Astrid was avoiding her gaze, her shoes instantly becoming her center of attention. A dark expression veiled over her, and I couldn't tell if she was simply flustered or incredibly annoyed. I wanted to believe it was the former.

 "Let go, I'll explain later," she whispered, not even glancing my way. She went to another seat, and surprisingly enough, Snotlout Jorgenson was sitting in all his smug glory. "Hey beb, wanna —" He gets cut off as Astrid shoots him a sharp glare.

I sighed, then looked back at the audience, their eyes immediately leaving as I met their gazes with a hard stare.

I seem to love author's notes and you might be bored with this now, lel. Finished two revisions in one night and I'm proud, hahaha. This part is estimated 1000 words, excluding the notes and stuff.
