Chapter 6: Traitor

Ω Jack's POV Ω

The thing about Central Park was that it was rather large. Even finding a goddess who is meant to stand out more than others would be hard to find.

"Have any of you met Aphrodite before?" I ask as I turned my staff back into a necklace.

"I have..." Merida sighs as she tried to melt the frost from her hair. "A couple years back she confronted me because I turned down every love interest that came my way."

I smiled slightly and started to walk into the park, keeping my eye out for a pretty face. "Any pointers?"

"Ah well... She doesn't really have one face. Her face appeals to someone's tastes, so that she appears beautiful to everyone... But her face is never someone you know." Merida informed, crossing her arms over her chest as she walked beside me. "She's a major pain in my butt. She doesn't really care for me either"

"Oh?"

"Although she is married to Hephaestus, she constantly goes out with Ares, my father. So I guess she thinks area cheated on her with many other women... Making us, Ares kids, complete enemies." She laughs.

I snort and look back at Hiccup. "Your father must be pissed."

"Yup. He always tries to embarrass them every time they're together." Hiccup smiles and scratches the back of his head. "She doesn't really care for the children of Hephaestus either."

"Thats correct." A voice spoke gently from behind us. Slowly, I turned around only to be greeted with a very beautiful face.

The woman wore a white dress that blew in the nonexistent wind, and a parasol that blocked the sun from her eyes.

"Hello young halfbloods. What brings you out on this beautiful day." She said happily, twirling the parasol on her shoulder.

"Aphrodite..." Merida spoke up, gaining the attention of the goddess who dropped her cheery attitude to give her a scowl. "It's been awhile."

"Oh... Your here? Still haven't tamed that horrific nest you call your hair?" Aphrodite said snobbishly. "Honestly... It's displeasing to look at."

Merida opened her mouth to snap back at the goddess but Rapunzel quickly clasped her hand over her mouth. "Settle down you two... We have a issue that takes priority."

Merida nodded reluctantly and swiped Rapunzel's hand away with a hmph.

"An issue?" Aphrodite blinked, "and you need me for it? How upsetting. I just got my nails done... I'm not in the mood to redo them."

"Oh don't worry." I said quickly, faltering when she looked towards me. "It's nothing that uh... Requires you to do anything including labor. We just need information is all."

Aphrodite smiled softly and pinched my cheek. "Ah I see. How cute." She cooed and somehow proofed her parasol into another dimension. "You must be Jackson Frost. Or rather, Jackson Overland as you have been going with for most of your life."

I averted my eyes and rubbed my cheek nervously. "Uh yeah... That's me."

"I knew you would be very handsome. You have always been a cutie. You should be attracting everyone if it weren't for your mother's reputation." She giggled.

I sigh look back at her. "I don't really care about finding a girlfriend... Or boyfriend for any matter."

Rapunzel and Hiccup looked towards me with eyebrows raised.

"We just need to know where Hephaestus is." I say hesitantly, ignoring the two of them. "Will you please help us with his location."

Aphrodite pouted before sighing softly. "Yes well of course I know where my husband is. However I don't like helping people without getting something in return. So I will ask of a simple favor that requires little to no effort."

"What is it?" Hiccup asked eagerly, finally looking away from me to look at the goddess. "I hope it's quick."

"If it's quick or extended is for you to find out!" She winked. "Jack..."

"Yeah?" I flinch.

"I order you to kiss one of your partners here, on the lips."

Ω Elsa's POV Ω

Nico had guided me to the center of camp halfblood with a glum look the whole way there. I just watched him with an expectant look on my face, thinking he would maybe say something or start a conversation like our short one at my campfire. But he was just... Silent.

"Are we waiting for someone?" I asked softly, leaning down to his level.

With a roll of his eyes, he sighed and pointed towards a boy whom was walking towards us whilst flipping a coin.

"Who—?"

"Will!" Nico called with a small smile appearing on his lips.

The boy, Will, jogged the rest of the way over and took both of Nico's hands. "I informed Chiron that you brought Elsa here."

Nico blushed at their hands before shaking it off and looking back at me. "Ah... This is my boyfriend... That doesn't matter though let's just get you to Chiron."

I felt a smile growing on my face as I watched the two, though I quickly shook my head. "Wait... Wait no I can't see him. I have something more important to do here."

"I thought you wanted to get back in contact with Jack? I'm not sure how good that guy is without you whispering in his ear 24/7." Nico scowled.

I bit my lip and looked around the camp. "There's more serious matters that involve the safety of every camper here. A traitor."

"A traitor?" Will echoed, letting go of Nico's hands as he crossed his arms over his chest. "I've had enough of traitors. I wonder why the fates keep doing this to us."

I shrugged one shoulder and keep scanning my eyes over the camp. "The main reason I didn't come here was because I knew the traitor would recognize me. I don't know much about him or her but I know they have a huge reptile as an accomplice. A dragon I believe."

"A dragon?" Will repeated my words again. "I've only seen one here at camp and he guards the tree. I highly doubt he's evil... The big guy is always sleeping."

"I can assure you that he's not the evil one." I reassured.

As I continued to scan my eyes over the camp, my eyes landed on a single boy whom was looking straight at me with a dark look in his eyes. Once he realized I noticed him, he perked up and quickly started to run away. "There!" I yelled, pointing to the man.

Nico and Will joined beside me as u began to chase after the supposed traitor. Luckily he wasn't that fast and I easily knocked him to the ground.

I quickly summoned some ice to pin his arms and legs to the ground, and he gave a grunt in reply before looking back up at me.

He would be handsome if it weren't for the crazy look in his eyes, or the fly away hairs that fell in front of him.

"Hans..." Will said, keeping his hand on his sword cautiously. "I should've known. You are supposed to have a life in the city right now, you write to the camp saying you were living it up."

The man, Hans, clicked his tongue against his teeth and avoided eye contact.

"And yet here you are... For a couple weeks when you really didn't have a need to be here. All your brothers are–"

"Dead I know." He snapped. "And I have no friends. I know that already. Truth is I have nothing going for me right now. My own fiancé left me."

"Fiancé?" I questioned, glaring down at him. His name was oddly familiar to me, but how come?

"Some girl named Anna. Such a stupid girl... Her and her riches. Mortals can be so idiotic." He smirks.

"Anna..." I breathe, leaning back. "My half sister? How could—"

"—Elsa." Nico warned... I managed to calm myself down fortunately.

"You're the traitor, yes? The one Elsa speaks of." Will took charge, squatting down in front of Hans. "Where's your dragon friend."

Hans gives a crooked smile. "I sent him off after that white haired boy and his friends. At a simple command, I can get him to rip them to shreds."

I quickly stood up and took made the ice around his hands detach from the ground, taking the sword from his belt. "Not if we can help it."
