One

Ten months later

Beep. Beep. Beep.

My brain, it hurts!

Beep. Beep. Beep.

It's too overcrowded, the voices!

Beep, beep, beep,

Each one calling out, overlapping!

Beepbeepbeep

I bolt upright, my hands clutching my ears, trying to block out that gods awful din of hateful, dire decay!

I scream, scaring the people in the room with me. I start to sob, the noise too much. One of them, I believe it was a male, rushed over to me and knelt down.

He gently placed his hands on mine and spoke gently.

"Hey, it's okay. Just focus on my voice, ignore everything else, focus." his words helped as I gently and hesitantly lowered my hands. "There, that's better, right?" I nod silently, taking in my surroundings.

I was in a lab style room, with a computer desk and IV machines. I was currently sitting on a hospital bed in a nightgown. In the room were two guys and a girl, all about my age. I open my mouth to ask a question,

"W-" my voice cuts out on me and I try again with no success, which is very frustrating. The female frowned before speaking,

"Are you okay? Can you tell us why you were screaming?" I try to talk, yet no sound comes from my mouth. "Can you talk?" I shook my head now.

Not now at least, I thought. Everyone jumped, much to my surprise.

Barry's POV

This girl interested me, waking up from a year long coma, screaming? Most certainly a meta. When Catlin asked if she could speak, she shakes her head. Then I hear a musical voice echo in my head, making me jump.

Not now at least.

It was Cisco's Turn to talk when he asked,

"Did you guys here that?"

"If by the voice in my head saying, 'not now at least', then yes." Catlin turned her attention to Alison, directing her words towards the scared girl whose eyes had widened, "Did you just think, not now at least?"

Alison slowly nods her head before I asked kindly,

"Can you think something else for us please?" I gave her a kind smile.

I'm not a kid you know, you don't have to speak to me like one.

I jumped, feeling slightly foolish. Catlin and Cisco laughing at my expense. "Sorry, it's just," I glanced at Catlin who nodded, "You only just woke up from a coma."

A what? She asked, surprised. For how long?

Third person POV

"Ten months. Welcome back to the land of the living," Cisco joked, trying to get the mood back up. But he didn't notice the malfunction that flickered across all of the screens.

What! Ten months! You've got to be kidding me! Ali exclaimed. She began to pull all the nodes and tubes off her as a voice spoke from the doorway.

"He tells the truth. How might you be Miss Goodwil?" The fore mentioned person spun around to find an older man in a wheelchair studying her.
