y?

"You can find the value of x without asking y." Yana Averina said with a straight face to her desk mate, also her partner for the current Math activity.

"Is this one of your puny attempts to intend your puns?! You suck! I told you to stop it, it's not working-" Damien huffed in frustration. He would rather have Anya as his work partner rather than this creep. Sure, Anya was... pretty peculiar back in first grade and they started on the wrong foot but Yana took being weird to another level. No one understands the girl, she's very quiet and conservative and would make puns when you try and talk to her. Most of the time she would answer questions with: 'I don't know,' 'maybe,' or 'it's a secret.'

Not gonna lie, Yana Averina is very smart and she dominates the class when it comes to Mathematics and History.

But Damien SWEAR, just one more pun- he's going to lose it!

"Here's my answer for number one." Yana said as she stopped scribbling doodles at the edge of the page and slid her notebook next to Damien's. "Also, only cowards don't intend their puns. I'm glad you understand the double meaning."

"You're like Monday mornings, nobody likes you." Damien muttered as he copy his partner's work.

"Very well. Give me back my notebook- Oh, hi Forger."

"Hi Yana! So about my invitation-" "Not today, Forger. Sorry."

"Come on~! Yanaaa! You keep declining for six yearsss!" Anya whined.

In response Yana only stared at the other party while she think about the things need to be done later at home.

Homeworks and then rest. A lot of rest.

Yana's daily schedule is already planned and cannot be changed, it should be followed strictly. Although it does not consist a lot of tasks it is very tiring to repeat every single day, although she have a lot of free time to herself there are many rules and restrictions, although it does not require a lot of effort she has become tired, she's barely hanging in there.

"So, Desmond are you done-" "Yana please don't ignore me!" Anya wailed quietly, hoping that the instructor won't return any time soon.

"Forger, please do finish the activity first." Yana calmly stated as her thumb slowly presses down her own index finger.

Anya is a very stubborn kid. Yana likes her firm personality and strong will. Yana can see that Anya's intention is pure and genuine. Truth to be told, Yana has been observing Anya for years and she noticed that albeit the kid is eccentric she is wise... almost prophetic. Yana secretly watch Anya's body language, and her choices of words. Well, it's none of her business.

---

At break time, Yana carefully took out her lunch boxes one by one. The set is all designed pink with gold accents. It is prepared by her mom.

Yana inhaled deeply as her mouth tasted the familiar flavor of pain and suffering.

Kidding aside, Yana stared at her food. She had the same thing for like what? 47 days ago? Days went by fast, it's as if everything was just yesterday. Maybe it's because of the endless repetition of this cycle but Yana is used to it. It became a normal occurrence. Minutes. Hours. Days. Weeks. Months.

Everything feels the same.

"Sigh." an unexpected sigh came out of Yana.

"Yana, do you wanna exchange foods with me?" Anya greeted Yana, she took out her lunch box while she sat beside her.

Now that's weird.

Yana is confused because of the sudden disturbance. This never happened before, how should she react? Anya Forger mostly spends her lunch break with Damien Desmond at the cafeteria, sometimes she's doing her own thing and sneaking around the place.

And Anya Forger never brought her own lunch box...

"No, Forger." Yana denied the request as she felt some hidden mischief.

"My mom cooked this! I swear it's not poisoned or anything- she's better at cooking now. But I bet your mom's cooked food tastes better!" Anya said firmly.

"Don’t trust people that perform acupuncture. They’re back stabbers." Yana calmly said before she quickly finish her food.

"Acupuncture wha- Aw hey you finished your lunch?!"

"Maybe."

---

Anya never knew that someone can be more stubborn than her. She had her fair share of this personality.

Anya is currently waiting for the school bus to fill up, it's time to go home. Looking out the window bus, Yana can be seen walking elegantly towards the most inconspicuous car. It is a well known fact that Yana belongs to the most perfect family that consists of a perfect mom, a perfect dad, a perfect brother, and a perfect family pet!

But somehow, Anya do not agree. People did not hear Yana's pleas and complaints. There's more than what meets the eye. Anya tries not to lose hope as she watch Yana become who she is today- the Yana who came to give up and accept that 'it is what it is.'
