Chapter 59: Aproaching Party

Akihito was still resting as the rest of team continued to watch over Allegra.
The blonde child had asked multiple times what was wrong with Akihito, but the team simply said that he was sick and needed rest.
The Ancillary Teachers did their own business; one of them would stick with Akihito's group from time to time.

//(Two Days Later)//
"The true part of our mission?"
Giustino sighed softly.
"Yes." The King pulled a letter from his envelope and opened it. "Soon, our Kingdom shall hold a ball to celebrate my granddaughter's birthday." The elderly man smiled bitterly. "And I'm sure you're well aware of how such a setting will put my granddaughter in grave danger to assassins and enemies."
Izaak nodded in understanding; he had to stand in for Akihito as the leader temporarily.
The rest of the team was currently with the still-sleeping Akihito and Allegra.
The blonde Russian was sitting in the empty Hall with the King; Izaak had his arms crossed as he inclined his head slightly.
"Date, time, and place, please?"
Giustino nodded his head as he flicked the note in his hands to Izaak.
The blonde caught it between his index and middle finger and unfolded the note.
Saluti, cittadini! Chiunque è autorizzato a venire!  Ancora una volta, si prega di lasciare tutti noi festeggiare il nostro caro Princess il compleanno!  Ci si deve vedere lì!  Addio.
(Greetings, citizens!  You are all invited to our dear Princess Allegra Crepuscolo's tenth birthday!  Please come and celebrate at the castle.  It shall be on November sixth.  The time the gates will be open is 4:00pm.  The celebration is located in the Great Ballroom. The party will truly start at twilight, 6:00pm.  Everyone is allowed to come.  Once again, please let us all celebrate our dear Princess's birthday!  We shall see you there!  Farewell!)
Izaak raised an eyebrow at how much info an assassin could get from a simple note.
"...Cielo can be on top of the roof.  I trust his eyes to look out for any suspicious characters from above." Izaak glanced up at the King. "Are we allowed to use weapons?"
Giustino grimaced slightly before nodding.
"But, please, hide them.  I do not wish to scare away all of my guests."
"I understand."
Izaak looked back at the note.
".....Amaya shall be in the shadows." His lips quirked up slightly. "Literally."
Giustino raised an eyebrow but didn't question further as Izaak continued to speak.
"May I see the ballroom to know where to position the others?"
The King nodded his head and got up from his throne.
"Right this way, Sir Izaak."
~~
'Hoh, fancy...'
Izaak tilted his head as his eyes roamed the large room.
There was a giant, crystal chandelier hanging in the middle.
Twin, spiraling, mahogany staircases were at Izaak's left and right to lead to the spacious dance floor down below.
Giustino chuckled.
"Isn't it amazing?  We had the best carpenters in Venice to create this room."
Izaak smirked slightly.
"Huh, nice work."
The teen then took the time to observe every spot in the room.
"Where will the food be served?"
Giustino pointed at a long table at the side of the room.
"The food and drinks shall be served over there."
Izaak placed a hand under his chin.
"...Altea and Tadeo will stand by over there.  Tadeo has the sharpest nose, and Aleta comes second with eyesight.  Those two will look out for anyone who tries to poison the food."
The blonde then glanced up at the chandelier.
'That can be a hazard if the chain were to be cut.  It could fall on someone....' "Meilin and Anatole will stand on opposite sides of the room; they're two of the most fastest on the team and they'll get everyone to safety if something bad will happen.  And Engelram...will be the closest to the Allegra, but he won't be too close to look like a bodyguard; he'll act like an average visitor."
Izaak turned to the King and made an amused smirk.
"And please tell your guards to not attack my friends.  I don't want them to be the ones mistaken as the bad guys."
Giustino chuckled nervously.
"That would certainly be troublesome!  I'll make sure to tell them."
Izaak continued to smirk as he turned his eyes back to the floor below; he saw the gigantic Windows that lined the walls.
"Thanks...and I'll be bodyguarding with Engelram if you were curious of what I was going to do."
~~
"Still sleeping?"
"Ah.  He hasn't opened his eyes.  He hasn't even moved a finger in his sleep."
Izaak frowned at the answer he got from Engelram.
The redhead sighed, turning his gaze to the window the room, watching the sun that was slowly setting outside.
"I'm a bit worried.  Sure, Akihito should get some sleep and all, but he hasn't moved a single muscle for twenty-seven hours now."
Izaak grimaced as Engelram turned his gaze back to the blonde; the Russian could feel the worried eyes beneath the mask that the redhead wore.
"What if--?"
Izaak held a hand up, narrowing his gaze at the other.
"No 'what if's, Engelram.  This isn't like you--snap out of it." The lightning mage sighed. "Trust Akihito.  I'm sure the doofus will be fine."
<<(Akihito's Mindscape)>>
The greenette drifted in an inky blackness.
His autumn-red eyes roamed the area.
Nothing but black was present.
Akihito sighed as he placed his hands behind his head, as if he were lying down on something invisible.
'Man...how much time has passed?  I've been here for quite a while, or it could just be my imagination...hm...'
Suddenly, Akihito's vision was filled with a bright light.
The greenette shut his eyes momentarily from the assault of the new lighting.
Akihito slowly lowered his arms from his eyes and slowly blinked.
A blue sky surrounded him.
The greenette looked downwards.
A bustling city ran below.  Cobblestone streets went through every row of buildings.
Laughter and loud voices were heard, conversing or arguing with each other.
It was peaceful....until Akihito had a dropping feeling in his stomach.
The greenette then noted that he was falling.
Fast.
Akihito widened his eyes in shock.
"EEEEEEEEEEEEH!?"
