Chapter 36: Invasion
"My name is Boitumelo Tadeo. It's nice to meet you all."
The boys of Akihito's group nodded toward the purplenet, giving soft-spoken, or shouted, greetings.
Akihito and Izaak explained Tadeo's problem and their new findings on the past Nanashi Attack.
Engelram then stood up, telling them that he would meet Meilin and the girls.
Today was a free-day, where there were no classes for the entire day--a perfect time to attack when everyone is relaxed.
Akihito hummed thoughtfully, thinking back to the man in the black cloak; he frowned slightly.
'His voice sounds familiar too...'
Akihito sighed, standing up from his seat on his bed. Izaak, Tadeo and the other boys were playing Uno with each other, each holding five colorful cards; Izaak glanced up at the greenette.
"Going somewhere?"
Akihito grinned back at them as he pushed the dorm door open.
"I'm gonna go find Corvino-san."
Izaak nodded, turning back to the other boys as he placed a Wild Card down.
"I choose the color...green."
"Aw! Not cool, ami! I only have yellows and blues."
"Hn. I only have blue."
"Oh! I have a few greens."
Akihito chuckled as he exited through the door.
~~
Akihito wandered around a bit, checking the rooftop and the teachers' rooms. In the end, Keshet told the greenette that Corvino was with the Headmaster again; the blonde Art teacher was laughing mischieviously when she told him while Akihito sweat-dropped.
Akihito sighed. The greenette wasn't able to go to the Headmaster's room yet, since he was a first-year.
Keshet saw the other's disappointment before frowning thoughtfully; she popped a unicorn horn lollipop into her mouth, causing Akihito to sweat-drop slightly.
'How can she eat so much sugar?'
Keshet grinned as she extended an ID card to Akihito.
"Here! You can use this. If people think that you stole it from me, then they need to see me about it. Don't lose it!"
Akihito smiled gratefully and made a quick bow; he ran out of Keshet's room, waving over his shoulder to the blonde.
"I'll make sure to return it!"
~~
Akihito finally reached the Headmaster's room, raising his hand to knock on it. Unexpectedly, it silently swung open--without the greenette knocking on it.
Akihito cocked his head before stepping inside quietly as he turned around to close the door behind him softly.
When Akihito turned around, one word went through his mind.
'Asdfghjkl!' (LD: "one word". Lol)
Akihito's jaw dropped as he started to sweat profusely.
Rei was currently reading a book; free-hand raised--apparently used to open the door 'magically' without moving from her bed.
She was currently wearing a plain, white kimono; her bed sheets were pulled up to her waist as she leaned against her pillows that were propped against the headboard of the bed.
The snownette glanced up and smiled softly; she started to mouth words to the other.
*Hello, Akihito-kun.*
Akihito opened and closed his mouth like a fish out of water.
*You--huh--Corvino-san--hah?!*
Rei chuckled softly as she set her book down; a light blush was on her face as she brushed her hand through black locks.
Yes.
Black.
Not white. (LD: I JUST GOT IT ONLY NOW I LIKE THOUGHT SHE HAD BLACK HAIR AND DYED IT WHITE OR SOMETHING BUT NO ITS CORVINO'S HAIR OMGLAKDKFJSJAHHDJF)
Akihito was freaking out silently to not wake up a certain demonic spartan. (LD: in the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion-demon-Spartan sleeps tonight ^_^; pleasedontkillmeCorvino)
Resting on Rei's lap, was the head of one Kaede Corvino.
Corvino was snoozing softly on Rei's lap while his legs were propped up on a large chair that was moved close to the snownette's bed. His hands were resting on his chest while his fedora was placed on the nightstand beside Rei's bed.
Akihito sweat-dropped again and started to mouth words again--this time a little more understandable.
*W-Why...is C-Corvino-san sleeping...on your lap?!*
Rei blushed again, brushing her hand through Corvino's hair once more.
*Well...*
::(Flashback...)::
Rei sighed, a small pout on her face as she glanced out of her window.
"Geez...the teachers need to stop being so overprotective..."
Rei slid out of bed and slowly headed to her door before tripping suddenly.
The Headmaster widened her eyes slightly as she waited for impact...but it never came.
An arm wrapped around her waist before she could hit the floor.
Rei blinked in confusion and surprise until a deep voice spoke up behind her.
"You know...the teachers have a right to be overprotective if you can't even walk to your door from your bed..."
Rei sighed, craning her head back to see a certain rougette.
"Corvino..." She smiled faintly, her gaze flitted to her open window. "You came through my window? I have a door for a reason."
Corvino simply snorted and started to princess-carry the snownette back to her bed.
"Doors are overrated. Windows are better."
Rei chuckled lightly as she was settled gently into her bed. Corvino pulled the covers up as he also propped her pillows against the headboard.
The hitman noted the way she was eyeing the door again, causing him to chuckle inwardly.
'Already thinking of ways to escape, eh?'
Corvino glanced at Rei before dragging the large chair in her room right next to the bed.
Rei blinked in surprise before turning her quizzical gaze to Corvino.
"What might you be doing?"
Corvino simply smirked before flopping his upper half onto the bed while propping his bottom half on the chair. He relaxed his head onto Rei's lap as he set his fedora onto the nightstand.
Corvino glanced up and smirked wider when he saw the full blown blush on Rei's face; the hitman answered her earlier question.
"I'm making sure you're not going to escape."
Rei opened her mouth to protest, but Corvino smirked again, causing the snownette to close her mouth; she knew that she lost this argument.
Corvino laced his fingers together over his chest as he closed his eyes.
"If you move, then I'll wake up and drag you back to your bed, got it?"
Rei huffed and made a small pout before giving a mocking grin to the other.
"Yes sir."
With that, Corvino fell asleep as Rei started to gently thread her fingers through his raven locks.
::(Flashback End...)::
"..."
Akihito sweat-dropped.
'What a Corvino-like thing to do...'
Rei chuckled inwardly at Akihito's expression. The Headmaster glanced down at Corvino's sleeping face before looking towards Akihito once more.
*Anyways...why are you here, Akihito-kun?*
Akihito then remembered what he came for and adopted a slightly serious expression, causing Rei to also turn serious.
*What's wrong?*
Akihito sighed mentally before reporting all of the events from last night to the Headmaster.
When Akihito stopped mouthing words to the other, Rei glanced out of her window.
*Tadeo-kun is alright, yes?*
Akihito nodded his head as Rei continued to look out of her window.
Golden compasses swirled in her eyes as she turned her gaze back to him.
*Prepare your friends for battle. Tell Keshet to warn the other teachers and to secure the second and third-years in their dorms.*
Akihito nodded before glancing back at Corvino, who surprisingly hadn't woken up yet, since he was a hitman--trained to be sharp in their senses.
Rei noticed the greenette's gaze and made eye contact to with the other.
*I'll explain what's happening later on to him. You should go and tell the teachers now.*
Rei flicked her wrist and opened her door without a sound, allowing Akihito to go through.
Akihito stepped through but stopped, sending a worried gaze to the Headmaster, causing her to smile.
*Don't worry. I have your father to protect me, no?*
Akihito blushed slightly before he rubbed the nape of his neck. His autumn-red eyes flitted around the room before they landed on a Rei once more.
This time, he didn't mouth his words. He spoke clearly, yet softly, to the Headmaster.
"D-Do...you like--no--love my dad?"
Rei blinked in surprise at the question before a warm smile spread across her lips. A light blush dusted her cheeks.
"Yes...very much so..."
Her face then became as red as a tomato when Akihito's eyes sparkled. Akihito laughed mutely before giving a bright smile.
He waved back at Rei as he mouthed words again.
*Alright! I'm off now. I'll see you later, Mom--Headmaster!*
Akihito mentally slapped himself and ran like hell after his blunder; a full blown blush covered his face.
Akihito ran out of the South Wing, leaving a baffled Rei.
Slowly, a blush started to creep onto her face.
"...Did you see...what he said? Corvino?"
The said hitman shifted slightly on her lap, glancing to the side. The man was wide awake.
"...Yes."
Both of their faces were red, and Corvino heard and saw the entire conversation between Rei and Akihito. Since he was a hitman, he was awake once the door was opened--Rei knew that Corvino was awake already, but made no comment.
Rei covered her face with one hand, a blush rose to her cheeks.
'...'
Corvino slowly started to smirk.
"Does this make you my wife?"
Rei simply blushed harder.
"...Maybe."
~~
"IS THAT TRUE?!"
Keshet nearly dropped the hard candy she was about to unwrap as she gapped at Akihito, who was grinning brightly with a slight blush on his face.
Akihito told her Rei's orders for the blonde, but he also told the Art teacher on Rei's confession. That surprised the lightning mage.
"Yeah! Awesome isn't it?!"
Keshet gaped slightly before bringing Akihito into a bone-crushing hug.
"YAAAY! Oh, this is so awesome! We didn't even need to do anything! BWAHAHA--oh! Sorry kid!"
Keshet quickly released the greenette when she saw that the other was starting to turn blue from her deathly hug. Akihito coughed as he took in deep breaths of air.
Keshet rubbed the nape of her neck sheepishly before giving a small salute to the other as she started to skip out of the Art room.
"Well then! I'll go do what Rei-chan ordered and meet with your group later! Stay safe~!"
The Art teacher quickly disappeared from the room, leaving Akihito by himself.
After a few seconds later, the greenette exited the classroom, heading to the first-years' dorms.
~~
A full moon glowed in the sky; the night was starless.
Akar smirked arrogantly at the Academy before him.
'Tonight, I'll kill that stupid Headmaster for kicking me and my friends out. She embarrassed me in front of the whole world!' The raven ground his teeth together. 'And I'm the son of one of the most richest men in the world! Has she no respect for me?! It's outrageous!'
Akar growled under his breath until an eerie chuckle broke through his thoughts.
"Now, now~! You shouldn't be so angry. You get to kill the Headmaster tonight--with your own hands--so you should be happy, kid~!"
Akar smirked again before scowling at the man.
"I'm not a kid, spooky old man."
The man in the black cloak took no offense and simply grinned wider.
"Aw~don't be angry! 'Cuz it's true~! In my eyes, you're a mere child. I'm way, way, way older than you, kiddo."
Akar scowled again glancing back at the new army of Nanashi behind him.
The amount of the Nanashi was almost triple the amount of Nanashi from the last attack.
Akar grinned darkly.
'...Yes...tonight, I will kill the Headmaster with my own hands.'
