Chapter 11: Suspicions

"Yo, Akihito."
*Hey, Izaak!*
The greenette waved energetically at the blonde. Izaak raised an eyebrow at Akihito's sudden show of energy. Akihito noticed the look and asked.
*What's wrong? Something on my face?*
"Well, you seem more...energized?"
Akihito, or Junsui in disguise, cursed mentally and came up with an excuse.
*W-Well, I decided to take a cup of coffee in the morning! So I'm all pumped up!*
'Akihito' watched as Izaak face-palmed; the greenette started to sweat.
'Shoot, did I do something wrong? That lie probably sucked--!'
The greenette was cut out of 'his' musings when Izaak spoke up, tiredly.
"Sheesh, now I have to deal with you, Meilin and that idiotic blueberry."
'Akihito' breathed a silent sigh of relief, but tensed slightly at the sharp, green eyes Izaak pinned 'him' with.
'Onii-chan, your friends are so scary!'
Inwardly, Junsui had comical tears run down her cheeks. Outwardly, 'Akihito' gave off 'his' signature smile.
"Oh well, let's get going."
*Yeah!*
00(Izaak's P.O.V.)00
I turn the corner and spot Akihito, walking in the same direction as I am, so I decided to call out to him.
"Yo, Akihito."
*Hey, Izaak!*
I watch as he waves back, quite excitedly. I raise an eyebrow, which Akihito notices.
*What's wrong? Something on my face?*
"Well, you seemed more...energized?"
I see him flinch slightly. My instincts start to act up as I stare into Akihito's(?) eyes. I could see shock and worry fill them, but it disappears as soon as it comes.
*W-Well, I decided to take a cup of coffee in the morning! So I'm all pumped up!*
I face-palm.
'One cup of coffee for him and he's energized for three weeks straight.' I spoke up, palm still covering my face. "Sheesh, now I have to deal with you, Meilin and that idiotic blueberry."
I watch as Akihito(?) relaxes noticeably; I remove my palm from my face.
'This is not Akihito...who is he?'
I notice that the...imposter was shuffling around nervously and I found out that I was staring a-little-too intently at him.
"Oh well, let's get going."
*Yeah!*
'I'll just have to go along with the act for now...'
00(End of Izaak's P.O.V.)00
"Akihito-Otoutooooooo!"
'Akihito' couldn't help but jump when 'he' brought into a bone-crushing hug.
'Who the heck is this guy?!'
'Ah, that's Anatole-san. Don't worry, he's harmless, Junsui-Imoto.'
'Onii-chan! Oh my gosh--you don't know how happy I am to hear your voice!'
'Haha! Happy to make you happy!'
Before the internal conversation could continue, more teens appeared.
"Sup, Kaede."
A masked redhead walked up to 'Akihito'.
"Aki-chaaaan~!"
An orangenette bounded up to the greenette and hugged 'him'.
"Idiots."
"Konichiwa."
An irritated looking tealnette and an impassive rougette followed in from behind. 'Akihito' smiled and waved. Inwardly, Junsui asked her big brother on the new arrivals.
'Onii-chan, who are they?'
'Ah, the masked one is Engelram. The one who hugged you is Meilin-chan. The shy one is Aleta-san and the silent one is Amaya-san.'
''Shy'? Onii-chan, the one you called shy looks positively irritated.'
'Nah, she's just shy~!'
Junsui sweat-dropped at her big brother's response.
'Anyways~! These guys are good friends! You don't need to worry about them!'
'Okay then...if you say so, Onii-chan.'
Suddenly, 'Akihito' felt a pair of eyes on 'him'. Electric-green eyes to be exact. The eyes turned away, averting its gaze to somewhere else.
'Ahaha! Methinks Izaak found out already~!'
'ONII-CHAN! YOU KNOW THAT'S NOT A GOOD SIGN FOR ME!'
Akihito continued to laugh while Junsui pouted mentally, and she remembered something.
'Onii-chan...how are you doing?'
'...Ah, just running a small cold now--nothing too bad! Honest!'
'...Onii-chan...you and I know that you always lie about your health.'
'...Ehehe?'
'...'
'Sigh. Fine. It's a high fever right now, but it's going down! So don't worry!'
'Uuuuuuugh! How can I not worry about my big brother who doesn't even take care of himself first?!'
Akihito simply chuckled in Junsui's mind.
Briiiiing!
'Ah, that's the bell--better get going! And thanks again for going to school for me!'
'Bleh! Class is going to be super boring!'
'Akihito' followed the other teens into the building, trying 'his' best to ignore the suspicious electric-green eyes burning the back of 'his' head.
~~
'Oh my gosh--ONII-CHAN! HOW CAN YOU DEAL WITH THIS?! YOU ALREADY KNOW ALL OF THIS POOP--AND THEY'RE NOT EVEN TEACHING IT CORRECTLY!'
'Haha, c-calm down, Junsui-Imoto. You're starting to sound like Kage-Ototo...'
'I can't help it! It's like they're teaching you nothing! You would totally ace everything!'
'Maa, we can't bring too much attention to ourselves, neh?'
'I suppose...but isn't being a failure in everything also attracting attention?'
'...I haven't thought about that...'
'Oh well, better than being the most powerful individual in the world.'
"Kaede! Answer the question on the board!"
'4(6x+4)= 64? Huh, these answers are too easy.'
*x= 2*
'Akihito' accidentally wrote the correct answer, when 'he' was supposed to be stupid, leaving the teacher and the class speechless. On the other side of the room, Izaak narrowed his eyes. Anatole, who was also in the same class, was surprised, for the greenette always got a simple Algebra question wrong.
'Junsui-Imouto...you wrote the correct answer...'
'Akihito' realized 'his' mistake and tensed slightly.
'Ah, poop. Poopity, poopity, poop!'
"T-That's correct Kaede...m-moving on..."
The teacher continued the class, shaking off his shock.
'I'm so sorry, Onii-chan! I've made myself more suspicious!'
'Hahaha, don't worry! What's done is done.'
A few more minutes passed by and the last period of the day finally ended.
~~
'Akihito' and his group of friends exited the school. Anatole, Aleta and Amaya parted ways first. Izaak, Engelram and Meilin were supposed to leave next, but, surprisingly, Izaak decided to stay with 'Akihito' a little longer. The redhead shrugged and started walking as Meilin pouted but followed after Engelram. 'Akihito' and Izaak started to head closer to the greenette's home.
'O-Onii-chaaaan! He's still here!'
'...Maybe...it's time to tell him...'
'What?! Can we really trust him?!'
'Junsui, you and everyone else find him trustworthy, no?'
'Yes, but...'
'Maa, don't worry, neh?'
Suddenly, a fist covered in lightning magic came at 'Akihito''s head. 'Akihito' dodged swiftly, back-flipping then landing in a crouched position. Izaak stood before the greenette, electric-green eyes flashing menacingly, sparks of lightning crackling along his body.
"Tell me...where is the real Akihito."
Junsui couldn't help but let a smile slip by.
'Ah...I've forgotten this boy's will to protect you, Onii-chan--the reason everyone and myself approved of him.'
'Haha, right?'
In a flash of green, Izaak sent a kick at 'Akihito'. Apparently, the blonde mistaken the approving smile as a mocking one. Izaak's eyes glowed, face blank, but rage clear in the bright, green eyes.
"You better tell me where he is, now."
'Akihito' smiled again.
'Neh, Onii-chan.'
'Yes, Junsui-Imouto?'
'Is it alright if I act like some evil villain for a few minutes? I wish to test this boy.'
'Maa, don't hurt him now...'
Junsui grinned mentally.
'Thanks!'
The image of the cloned Akihito disappeared, replaced with a tall teen girl--probably about Izaak's age--with blue hair tied in a high ponytail. She wore a night-blue tank top and long denim jeans. Junsui acted childish as always, but with a tinge of mischief in her aqua-blue eyes. She started to clap, making Izaak tense up.
"Well done, Izaak-kun~! You found out so fast~!"
Junsui's voice sounded like she was speaking through a veil of water, which Izaak found disturbing. He also narrowed his eyes when the bluenette said his name.
"How do you know my name?"
It seemed that the blonde's rage had calmed down as he stared blankly at Junsui. Junsui smirked 'evilly' in response.
"Oh~! Akihito-kun and I got to have a little 'talk'~!" Izaak narrowed his eyes further, hearing the way the bluenette said 'talk'. "He kept on worrying about you guys~! Never said a thing about any of you." Junsui clapped her hands together. "Ah, but a colleague of mine finally got into that head of his~! We now know who his friends are~!" Akihito mentally shook his head at the act Junsui was displaying; the bluenette simply let her smirk grow wider. "Aldersflügel Engelram, Ma Meilin, Beauchene Anatole, Akiyama Aleta, Tsukino Amaya and Albero Cielo."
Izaak pinned the bluenette with an icy, green glare. Junsui didn't even flinch as she smirked.
"You, Volkov Izaak, shall be the first to join your friend, Kaede Akihito, in the afterlife."
The world seemed to stop for Izaak, and he stared with disbelief in his eyes at the grinning bluenette.
'...Akihito...is...dead?'
The blonde could only see a haze of furious red.
"You trash."
'Uwah! He sounds like Volonte-chan!'
'Maa, they kind of act the same...'
Junsui giggled, gracefully dodging the raging blonde's barrage of attacks. Suddenly, Izaak reached into his side pocket, and took out three metal rods, flipping them in the air. The rods joined together to make a 6ft staff. The blonde caught the staff and applied lightning magic to the weapon.
Junsui smirked, her bangs shadowing her eyes. She summoned her own weapon; a fountain of water appearing by her side. The water transformed into a beautiful silver trident, a serpent wrapped around the longer part of the weapon. The bluenette twirled her trident, tilting her head, smiling 'evilly'.
"Don't disappoint me now, Izaak-kun~! Akihito-kun didn't give a good fight since he was almost dead from the beatings during the interrogation~!"
Izaak narrowed his eyes.
''Interrogation'? They interrogated Akihito? I'm gonna kill every last one of them even if it's the last thing I'll do.' "Trash, be prepared to die."
"Ohohoho~! Bold words! Will 'ya really do it?"
Izaak disappeared and reappeared behind Junsui in a flash of green. He brought his staff down, but the bluenette simply blocked it with her trident. The blonde growled dangerously.
"I'll make sure to have the police scrape the remains of your body off the walls."
Junsui smirked in response. Akihito sighed tiredly.
'Another long day...'
