Chapter 3

--------------------

Katsuki stretched, his back popped quietly and he twisted his arms and pulled a bit before rotating. Looking at his classmates he ignored them all leaving Kirishima and a few others who actually tolerate him to talk to him.

"As you all know, these are UA's first years of the new hero generation!" Midnight pulled out her whip and slashed at the air, suddenly his eyes landed on his neighbor, who was standing beside Midnight with a shy smile.

"Since Recovery Girl is going to need some help, I especially wanted to request that my Niece would be able to join! This is Hana Kaede, she will be helping you, students, after the battle!" Katsuki's eye twitched. Kirishima pointed at the girl and then gave his other friends the same look.

"Bakugou! Isn't that---!" Kirishima shut up as soon as he saw Katsuki raging silently beside him.

"If I could have the representative of Class 1-A, Bakugou Katsuki come to the stage and give us your speech!" the class looked at Katsuki surprised while Hana smiled and waved.

"I vow....that I am going to win."

Boos were heard but Hana clapped softly.

Midnight gave her niece a sideways look. Hana stopped and looked away. Katsuki glanced at the pink-haired girl, she noticed him and waved slightly only to have the boy turn away and get yelled at by the class and his friends.

Hana frowned.

Of course, he warned her that he would be acting differently from what he acts like with her. Hana dropped her hand to her side and walked to recovery girl's office. When she was walking, she followed the signs and tried her best to not be late by watching the screens where it showed how the contestants were doing so far.

An obstacle race?

Continuing on, she finally found her way to the office.

Recovery Girl smiled, "Hello dear, why don't you sit down next to me and watch?" Hana was surprised as her eyebrows lifted up at the sign language. "yes!" she smiled and quickly sat down next to the nurse.

Her eyes immediately trailed to Katsuki as he used his explosions to launch himself to the front, but Todoroki was catching up! Gasping silently, Hana waved her fists up and down hoping that Katsuki would beat the half and half bastard.

Katsuki may have taught her the names of his classmates.

Deku.
Shitty hair.
Tape arms, Soy Sauce Face.
Raccoon Eyes.
Damn amphibian.
Round face.
Dunce Face.
Small fry.
Tail.
Glasses.

And she forgot the rest.

Watching the battle she realized something was wrong.

She couldn't hear.

---------------------------------------------------------

Katsuki growled as he watched Midoriya get first place. That damn Deku! As people began to swarm around Midoriya and Todoroki, he looked down at the ground. His fist clenched.

"Yo! Bakugou! I think we should team up, I was going to join Todoroki, but it looks like he already has a team!"

"You're with me Dumb hair."

"Wha--Hey! My name is Kirishima! And my hair is no different from yours."

Katsuki pondered if he should visit Hana after this battle or not. Would she want to see him? Of course, she would!

It's Hana we are talking about!

Smirking evilly at the idea he didn't realize that other people from his class came to team up with him.

"I think we should team up!" looking at Mina and Sero he gained a calm expression.

"Remind me what your quirks and names are?" he looked genuinely confused.

"Are you kidding me?!" the group exclaimed.

------------------

Katsuki leaned his forehead on the wall. How could Deku beat him? He has to fight Uraraka next. Whoever the fuck that is.

Remembering Hana, he got up and walked---stormed to Recovery Girl's office. Opening the door, he didn't see Hana.

"Where the fuck is Hana?" he began to rage, the only person cared about wasn't there.

"She had to go home early to see a doctor, " the old woman explained softly. "Poor girl, I noticed that she only had one hearing aid in...she left in a hurry."

That was it.

He didn't care about what Deku did anymore. He was going to win. He was going to win for Hana. And that was final.

The ash-blonde dashed out the room slamming the door closed behind him. Recovery girl frowned, "That boy...does he really mean that much to you?" Recovery asked.

She didn't receive an answer.

Katsuki raced back to the waiting room, after all, it was his turn.

---------------

Katsuki stared at the metal angrily.

He didn't deserve this.

That win didn't belong to him!

Todoroki didn't do his best, and that means everything to Katsuki. Katsuki did his best, so why didn't Todoroki use his flames?! Katsuki gritted his teeth.

Standing on the sandy shore, he failed to hear the pattering footsteps rushing toward him. He angled the Metal to throw it into the water.

"KATSUKI!!!"

Hana was running back to Katsuki's house, panting she rung the doorbell until someone answered.

"Katsuki!!" she gasped. Mitsuki who stood at the door shook her head, "He isn't home, Damn brat...---Wait! Hana!!" Mitsuki watched as Hana ran off desperately. Her blush pink hair whipping her back as she ran to one of their training spots.

The gym.

The man shook his head.

The cafe.

The waiter shook his head.

The shore.

There.

There he was.

The gold medal in his hands She watched as he angled up ad was about to throw it into the salty water, panting and gasping, she ran at him.

"KATSUKI!!"

Tackling the poor boy, they fell to the ground with a grunt.

Hitting his chest she felt tears welled up in her eyes. "Ka...Khachan!" her words molded together, her Japanese broken. Katsuki let the girl cry on his chest as she weakly hit his stomach.

"..." Katsuki stayed speechless.

Katsuki looked at the medal in his hands, the one he doesn't deserve. Getting up, he pushed Hana away gently as he was about to throw the medal into the water, something gripped his hand. Looking back, he saw Hana. She had a soft hold, yet strong enough for him to be able to throw the garbage.

"....What?" he finally muttered.

She let go.

"You've been learning sign language, so you should know what I'm saying." Katsuki looked away but focused on the girl once again.

"I saw you on the Tv." Katsuki growled.

"You don't think you deserve the medal...right?" he was thrown off.

How did she know?

Well, despite him trying to grow it in the ocean.

"Even if Todoroki didn't do his best, you still earned that medal. What matters if what you did to earn it, the girl that you fought, she thinks that too because what you did made her stronger, what you did in the mock battle, made your teammates stronger because they knew that they could handle it even if they didn't have the best control over the situation."

Katsuki felt something fall from his eyes, wiping it. It was salty tears. He looked down so Hana couldn't see them.

Warm, gentle arms wrapped around him. Hana's small hand grabbed the medal, blowing away the sand, she put it around Katsuki's neck.

"You deserve it." hugging his neck. Katsuki's arms were sore and limp. They crumbled to the ground once again. Katsuki rests his face in Hana's chest as he cried.

He would, of course, admit it but...he felt at home in her arms.

In her hold.

He didn't like crying. It made him weak.

Hana pet Katsuki's hair, the boy kept his arms limp.
