Chapter 3
Latvia's POV
I look around the house. It's big and empty and unoccupied. Estonia and Lithuania left to go grocery shopping while I was asleep, but thankfully left a note on the counter so I didn't worry about them. I lay back on the couch and cross my legs, my arms crossed behind my head. This is what is referred to as "comfortable". And it truly is.
~~~
Things go from dark to light as I open my eyes. Apparently I had dozed off a little bit. My stomach rumbled quietly then roared like thunder. I sit up and giggle.
That sounded funny.
I get off the couch and go into the kitchen, looking for a snack to eat. Probably just some crackers, or something light like that. I would get scolded if I spoil my dinner.
I find a box and smile to myself, take the whole box and then walk back to the couch.
But before I got there, some kind of door appeared then opened right before my eyes. It had a gray frame and a darker colored door with a glossy finish. The other side leads to my destination, the couch. I shriek and jump back, eyeing it, slowly shuffling around it in a wide circle. There's absolutely nothing on the other side. Not a sign of a door.
This is super weird.
Something must be wrong with me. I go back to the front of the door. On the gray door frame I notice some words, but I can't quite read them. Huh. I must be imagining this entire thing. That's it! I must be sleeping!
So to prove it to myself, I stepped inside. There is no pain a dream.
Immediately the door behind me slammed and locked, then the world that I thought was real, became dust and melted into a dark place.
My hands flew to the doorknob, but no matter how hard I tried, the door would not budge. Exhausted, I sit on the floor, clutching the box of crackers to my chest. Something happened when I stepped through that door. Something changed.
Where am I?
