Chapter 2
Wy's POV
"What kinds of things should we pack on this... this-" Sealand didn't quite know what to call it, which is okay, because there's a number of words that it's not. And he's just a kid.
I thought a moment. "Expedition." Seems fitting enough.
"Right. Can we bring some scones? I still have some that Iggy made for me."
"I won't eat them."
"Fine. Then you have no taste for fine British dining." He firmly decided.
I shook my head, "Sealand, I was just thinking."
"About scones?" He asked me.
I make a face of distaste. "Pfft, no. I was thinking about the nations. If it's something Russia can't handle, it must be really big or intimidating, right?" I stare off into the dark sky of the early morning, the brightening horizon beginning to spread across the sky.
Out of the corner of my eye, I notice Sealand stop and turn to me. A look of thoughtfulness on his face; he was starting to understand what I was saying now, and reached his own conclusion.
"I suppose you're right, because nothing can match or surpass British intelligence! Iggy must have been taken down." I met his eyes. He frowned, and for the first time I noticed the worry in his eyes. He must be quite distressed since his brother is missing. It reminds me of the absence of Australia to me. I miss him.
I break the silence. "So our plan; let's run it through once more."
"Alright. Tomorrow we'll start by looking at England and Australia's house, then-"
"Then we'll look at the other's houses who went missing."
Sealand nodded. "Indeed. I just wish it wasn't just us, and that our friends would join us. Oh, and the packing list! I made one, what do you think?"
He handed me a paper with scribbled writing. I could sort-of read it.
Here's what it read:
-Food
-Scones
-Canned water
-Cell phones
-Sleeping bag
-Backpack
-Paper & pen
-Weapons
-Map
-First aid kit
-Matches
-Some gasoline
-Marshmallows
-Chocolate bars
-Graham crackers
"Sounds like this is more of a camping trip than a search-and-rescue party." I chuckled, a small smile on my lips. He gave me a big grin. "It can be fun too!"
"You are very right, but what's the gas AND matches for?"
"Fire!" His grin widened and his eyes got really big.
This is going to be one interesting day. I wonder how we'll get past the border.
