Chapter 10

"Tell Miss Ukraine and Miss Hungary and Big Sister that I love them!"
"I'll tell them. I'm sure they love you, too." (Y/N) let go of Belgium and walked away with the Nordics.
"Bye!" she waved one last time before turning around.
"Goodbye, (Y/N)."

"So Mr. Denmark, where are we going?" The spiky haired man gave a large smile.
"Well, we were going to go to my house in Denmark, which is absolutely awesome by the way." The Norwegian rolled his eyes.
"But instead, you're going to stay at my house."
"Ooh. And where is that?"
"In Norway." (Y/N) had no idea where that was, but it sounded interesting.
"Ok. Cool!" Finland smiled.
"Oh yes! We will have lots of fun at his house! I can read you old fairy tales and we can bake cookies, and since it's close to Christmas, we can decorate the house in festivities!" The girl's eyes widened in excitement.
"That's right! It's almost Christmas time!" She turned to Norway. "Did you hear that, Mr. Norway?! It's almost Christmas!" The man backed up a little, taken by surprise by her sudden excitement. But he looked into her glimmering eyes and sighed, giving her a small smile.
"Yes it is, (Y/N)." Matthias let out an excited cry.
"Woo hoo! Christmas!" Which was his way of saying 'Woo hoo! Presents!'
Norway massaged his temples. This only proved his theory that the Dane was just a tall child.
"How about we save the celebrating for later? For now, let's just board the plane." They all nodded and loaded on.

"Wow! It's so pretty!" (Y/N) stared in amazement at the city of Oslo. Christmas lights adorned the city, and the streets and cars were covered by a fresh coat of fluffy, white snow, making it look like something off of a Christmas card.
Norway's face reddened, which he hoped they thought it was just from the cold. And it was in fact cold, about 12 degrees outside.
"Yeah! It really is!" Finland exclaimed.
Iceland rolled his eyes. "It's just as cold as I remember it."
"But we're only going to stay in the city for the night. We're going to order a hotel room and then head to my house in the country tomorrow morning."
"Really?! We get to stay in a hotel and get cool rooms and ride in an elevator-"
"And order room service?!" Denmark finished.
Norway sighed in exasperation. Seriously, children weren't really his forte. "Yes we'll be in a room and ride in an elevator, and no Matthias. We're not getting room service. It's too expensive." (Y/N) and Denmark began to pout.
"Its alright, (Y/N)!" Finland reassured. "We can eat at a nice little restaurant in the city. Lukas knows the owner." The girl's eyes widened and she gave a big smile.
"Well what are we waiting for?! Let's go!" Denmark exclaimed.

They all set out from the hotel, already having set their belongings in their room. They had dressed in dressy-casual, each of the Nordics wearing a button down shirt and pants that matched their flag colors. (Y/N) was wearing a cute (f/c) dress with a matching headband that Russia had bought for her in New York.
They took a short walk from the hotel to the restaurant since it was only a block away. The place was called Værtshuset Bærums Verk, and it was a nice family style restaurant. The inside was decorated with soft snowflake shaped lights and paintings of various people. There was a piano playing in the background.
An elderly man walked up to Norway and shook his hand.
"Ah! Lukas! Hvordan har du det?" Norway gave a kind smile.
"Takk, bare bra. Og du?" The man laughed.
"Bra. Og hvorden går det met Matthias?" Norway's face turned pink.
"H-han har d-det bra," he stuttered. The man chuckled. He looked down and his eyes widened at the little girl. He knelt down to her level and smiled.
"Hei. Hvorden går det?" The girl didn't know what to do. She didn't know what he was saying. Luckily, Denmark stepped in.
"Nikolai, this is (Y/N). She's from America. She only speaks English." The man nodded and understood.
"I am sorry," he said in an accent. "You must not have understood what I was saying." She shook her head.
"I asked 'what is your name.'"
"Oh! I'm (Y/N)!" she smiled. He smiled back.
"Hello, (Y/N). My name is Nikolai." He looked back and forth between Norway and Denmark. "Hun er din datter?" They both looked at each other and fiercely blushed.
"Nei." They both said.
"She's an orphan. She's just staying with us for the moment," Finland said.
"Ah. I see. Well I must ask you something, (Y/N). Do you like cake?"
She gasped. "Cake?!" He nodded.
"We have an amazing cake that you can try, if Mr. Nikolai allows it." She turned to him with pleading eyes and a pouty lip, something no one was ever able to refuse.
"Alright," he said. "But only if you eat all of your dinner first."
"Yay!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The dinner was absolutely delicious. (Y/N) had some fish and vegetables which she would never dare to eat, but it was one of the best meals she had ever had in her life! Then Nikolai brought out a huge slice of bløtkake, a vanilla cake with lots of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries and a ton of icing. Denmark stole quite a bit of it, and Norway smacked him for it.
Finally, they all went back to the hotel after saying goodbye to Nikolai, and Denmark had to carry (Y/N) half of the way because she could barely stay awake walking.
Norway looked at her peaceful face and thought, 'maybe this isn't so bad after all.'
