Francis didn't love Joan D'Arc, at least not romantically. But he definitely didn't love her the same way he loves all the people of France. He loved her as a best friend. Nothing more, nothing less. He never did fully get over her death. In fact, her deaths the very reason he doesn't like to pick fights.
