Something that Ivan hates is that everyone thinks that it's constantly snowing and freezing in Russia, that there are no flowers, no life, just miserable cold, when that's actually far from the truth.

The country is beautiful, and has all four seasons. It's chillier than some other countries of course, but it's not Antarctica or the North Pole. Summer does happen there, and when it does, Ivan relishes in it, and prays it never ends. When it does end early, he sometimes travels to other countries until September to enjoy it.

So maybe this is based off my annoyance at people obliviousness to the climate in Russia-
