Consequences

This is merely a little Drabble I did one day about what could've happened to Nita after he helped Inteus ( who belongs to faiththestoryteller ).
It is by no means canon unless agreed upon by Faith. It is merely a type of "what if?"

Bear couldn't ever remember running so hard in his life. Everything around him was a blur, his heart was racing and his lungs felt as if he had inhaled burning splinters from an open fire. Yet he did not stop or slow his pace as he ran over an open field then charged straight through a small forest.

As he lept over a fallen log he grabbed his right tomahawk at the ready. Bear charged it with a tingling energy that passed from his being through his arm and into the weapon, which made it glow a bright white all over. He could feel his eyes ablaze with the energy, just waiting to be released, though he didn't dare put any more into the tomahawk for fear of the damage it would cause. As he landed and righted his footing Bear flung the charged weapon between a frightened looking man and an angered crowd, the tomahawk landed squarely a good few yards in front of the group and stuck in the ground. It exploded on contact.

The man stopped briefly to stare in his direction but Bear paid him hardly any mind at the moment. Instead he took his opportunity of distraction and swiftly knelt to the ground and slammed his hands against the earth. He felt the same energy, though more warm this time rather than a tingling sensation, flow from him and through his arms down to his hands and into the earth below him. Not a second after the ground gave a rumble and a shake and violently burst upwards, creating a large wall between the angry crowd and the man. The man looked bewildered and frightened. With no time left to explain himself Bear yelled at him to run and, as if to make sure he did (and that he and the crowd were thoroughly separated), he threw up another wall between himself and the man. Bear hoped beyond the stars and above that he would run. Run and not turn back.

The crowd then chose to close in on Bear, angrier now that they had been separated from their target. He stood, grabbing his left tomahawk, and took stance. Though weary, drained, and somewhat frightened himself he was not going to back down. He tried to steady his breath as they charged at him and fought as hard as he could when they clashed.

He knew that he could've easily overpowered them had he been in better condition but as it were he was just glad that he could still swing an arm. Eventually, however, they became too much for him and managed to fling him to the ground. Someone kicked his weapon aside when he tried to grab for it and before he could retaliate there was a sudden sharp pain his left shoulder. He'd been hit with a club or staff of some sort. They hit him a few times more and Bear felt and heard his shoulder blade crack. He screamed. Loud enough he felt the whole forest could hear him. It was a blinding pain.

In a moment of what he assumed to be pure adrenaline Bear felt the warm energy again and the earth suddenly shifted out from under his attackers' feet. Still full of adrenaline he wasted no time in scrabbling to his feet and dashing off into the forest in hopes of outrunning them. Their angry screams, yells, and insults followed after and Bear dared not stop for anything. He fled back to his homeland and hoped that someone would be nearby to help him.

The trees and wildlife passed by in a blur once more as he raced back through the woods. He was tired though, having already expended most of his energy, and could hear what was left of the group getting closer...

Nita bolted upright in his bed, gasping for breath and sweating. His eyes darted around wildly as for a moment his mind was still back in that forest. In that time.
It took a few moments more but he finally calmed himself once he realized he was just in his room in that blasted cabin. Nita gave a sigh of relief and fell backwards onto the messy sheets. "Just a dream," he mumbled to himself in his native tongue, "just a dream...." He felt his hands clench the sheets below him.
Nita closed his eyes once more, the stiffness in his shoulder reminded him that the large fracture had never quite healed right and he shifted his position to be more comfortable.

He hated when he had these dreams, vivid images of the past, but he had no control over it. Nita sighed again. He'd never told his brother what had happened that day after he told him to run and blocked his view with solid rock. He didn't know if he was ever going to be able to tell him.

Oh well. That was something to be worried about another day, for he was too tired to think straight at the moment. Nita felt drained, as if he'd ran all that way all over again, and reluctantly drifted back off into a now more blissful, restful, and dreamless sleep.
