America x Reader: Rainy Days
"Yo, dudette let's go! We don't want to waste the day away!" Alfred called out from the open door. He was dressed in some American flag swim trunks with a matching shirt and towel. In his hand he held a deflated beach ball and his favorite pair of sunglasses.
"Well, we wouldn't be leaving so late if someone had gotten up earlier like he promised." you said in a sing-song voice as you put your hair into a messy bun (unless you can't then you put it in a headband) and grabbed your large (f/c) bag and sunglasses.
"I don't know who that person is, but that's beside the point! Now hurry up! This may be one of our last chances to go to the beach for maybe, like, ever!" His blue eyes were wide and he looked at you with a seriousness. You chuckled under your breath.
"At least until next year," you muttered. Seriously, he got like this every year. He would flip out during the first few days of fall and demand that he spend all his time at the beach. It got a bit annoying after a while.
"Come on, hurry up, (Y/N)! Lives are on the line!"
"Whose?"
"Mine!"
"Are you sure we should go out? It looks like it's about to rain." You looked outside and saw dark clouds rolling overhead and knew there was a big storm coming.
"Dudette! Don't be a party pooper! And the beach isn't that far away! We can walk from here! Pleeeaasse?" He was practically bouncing up and down like a kid waiting to go to the candy store. Desperation practically radiated off him and he looked about ready to cry if you said no. Sighing, you rolled your eyes at him and gave him a small smile.
"Okay, then I guess we'd better-"
"Let's go!" the American said with a huge grin as he grabbed your wrist and raced out of the house.

"Ah, (Y/N), I can't wait to get to the beach! It's gonna be so awesome!" Alfred said while stopping to strike a hero pose. You laughed at him.
"Last I remember, the last time we went to the beach you got scared by some seaweed and thought it was a sea monster." You said that last part in a cheesy scary voice. He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly and sweat-dropped. He gasped and pointed forward causing you to look.
"We're here!" he shouted sprinting forward faster than Feliciano when he sees Arthur or his cooking.
"Wait! Alfred! Don't leave me behind!" You ran after him trying to catch up. By the time you got the edge of the beach, he was already splashing around in the waves.
"Come on in! The water's great!" You heard a roll of thunder and the lifeguard immediately blew the whistle signaling for everyone to get out of the water.
"What?!" Alfred yelled.
"Sorry, man. Can't be in the water during a storm! That's the rules!" The lifeguard said shrugging his shoulders. 'Dang it.'
"But! But..."
"Come on, Alfred. Might as well go home," you sighed. He slumped down in defeat and slowly got out of the water. He began to walk with you and soon the beach was barely a speck in the distance. Alfred was silent, which showed you he felt really bad about not going to the beach.
"Come on, Alfred. I know you wanted to go to the beach, but it's okay," you told him.
"But I really wanted to spend the day with you at the beach," he mumbled as if you weren't supposed to hear him. You couldn't help but blush at his words.
"We can still do fun stuff! We can watch a scary movie, or make a pillow fort! There's lots of things we can do!" You heard a clap of thunder as it began to pour down rain.
"Aw, shoot!" you yelled covering your head with your hands trying to shield yourself from the icy sheets coming down. Alfred just stood there with his head down, his shoulders slightly shaking. It sounded like he was crying.
"Alfred..." you whispered. He continued to shake as you began to pat his back. His head shot up and you saw him with a giant smile on his face. You realized he wasn't crying; he was actually laughing. Your eyes widened in astonishment at him.
"Come on, dudette! Let's run!" he smiled pulling you by your arm. This sudden mood took you by surprise, and you asked "What are you doing?!"
"Running in the rain!" he yelled back giving his famous laugh. You gave a small laugh that turned into a whole-hearted one. You two ran as fast as you could not even bothering to avoid giant puddles and got crazy looks from passing drivers.
Within a few minutes, you two were at the door of the house shielded from the rain. You two were both panting and out of breath from running nearly five blocks.
"That was fun," you said in between breaths. Each of you was dripping wet soaked through your socks. Your hair stuck to your forehead and your clothes clung to your body, but you didn't mind. Alfred was still shirtless and his ahoge stuck out defiantly above his head.
"Yeah, it was," he said. You suddenly shivered from the cold and held yourself for warmth. Alfred's eyes widened and he pulled out his bomber jacket from nowhere and draped it over your shoulders.
"Thanks," you said sheepishly. He smiled then looked away with a slight blush on his face.
"Hey, (Y/N). The reason I wanted to go to the beach," he started, "was I wanted a perfect place to ask you an important question." You nodded.
"Okay, shoot." BANG! Another roll of thunder, this one really loud scared you, caused you to jump. Alfred chuckled, and you noticed you landed right into his arms. He hugged you, and you both blushed.
"Yeah so, I know this isn't the perfect scenario, and I'm not exactly perfect. But...well..." he trailed off.
"Go ahead," you urged. He looked to the side. You saw all his features; from his shimmering blue eyes to his adorable blush. He seemed worried which through you off because of his usual confidence. He flung his head back forward his hair splashing a few water droplets.
"Will you be my girlfriend?!" Your eyes widened. Then they softened. You never knew he liked you that way. It came as a huge surprise that he would show any interest in you. But, to be honest, it made sense since he always loved to find any excuse to hang around you at all times. In fact, it was kind of obvious.
"Of course. I'm so happy you asked!" you answered embracing him into a tighter hug. He stiffened but quickly relaxed into it. He smelled like hamburgers and sunscreen, an odd yet pleasant combination. You two pulled away.
"Awesome," he said. You chuckled and gave him a smirk.
"Come on, boyfriend. Let's go inside so we can dry off." He nodded and slowly walked inside with his hand intertwined with yours.
