《 Chapter 16: Sit, Draven! 》

In the middle of the night stood a closed pet store when a shadow figure covers the handle of the door where the lock is. A dart hits a key lock and a hand uses it as a key and unlocks the door. Then a big sign read "COBRA — WARNING! Deadly poisonous - Do not handle" where the glass container held a sleeping Cobra. A stick tapped its head, waking it up. The Cobra hissed and looked up to see Draven, but gets punched in the face. He grabbed the snake and started punching and jabbing it a couple of times or more, then smacked it in the face, and uses it as a jumping rope while spinning it like a pro. He smacked it in the face again and threw the snake against the wall as the Cobra collapsed on the ground. Draven goes down and slams the poor Cobra with his elbow like a wrestler, making it cough out. This gives him an advantage to force its mouth open where it showed two sharp fangs and placed the cup on the ground before placing Cobra's fangs in. He squeezed its head and the Cobra starts releasing venom from its fangs as it pours into the cup.

Once it's halfway full, Draven throws the Cobra back into the glass container and the cover above slams closed. Poor Cobra was in pain and curls itself into a ball, hiding from Draven. Draven smirks and pours the venom into the measuring tube.

"Venom from the Chinese Cobra. It's the perfect tranquilizer, really, because when you feel it sting, you are not so much tranquilized..." he explained, placing the cover on and holds up a clear glass tranquilizer full of Cobra's venom. "...as you are well, dead."

Draven then holds up a plush version of Nuo as a dragon.

"Venom meet dragon. Dragon meet venom." he introduced.

He starts playing the plush and the tranquilizer as he makes the tranquilizer move towards plush Nuo and imitates them.

"It's nice to meet you, dragon." Tranquilizer said in a deep voice.

"Oh, it's nice to meet you too, venom." Plush Nuo said in a high pitch voice.

"Is it nice, dragon? Yeah, maybe you're not so nice when I go into your bloodstream and I kill you!" Tranquilizer said.

Draven stabs plush Nuo in the chest with the tranquilizer pointer and laughs evilly, holding out a cotton ball like it pulls out her heart. Draven shakes the plush as his guards watches him.

"Oh, I'm so sad now because I will die." Plush Nuo said in a sad tone.

"You die already." Tranquilizer demanded.

Draven drops plush Nuo to the ground as it lies there, dead. Draven makes a noise to make the plush Nuo sound like she's dying.

"Okay, I'm dead!" Plush Nuo said and died.

The guards clapped at his play, clearly enjoying it. Draven smirks and places the tranquilizer into his rectangular case and closes it.

"This will be quite a teary return."

He looks down at the plush Nuo.

"I'll get you soon, dragon." he declared.

Draven stomps on the plush, causing the cottons to pop out as the stitches are torn apart. He then left the pet store along with his guards, leaving the now damaged plush in the darkness.

The next day, Nuo stands in front of the orphanage and takes a deep breath before coming inside. She greets the lady from the counter as she tells her the name of the certain little girl she's adopting. The lady tells Nuo the name of the room she's in and Nuo happily approaches the door.

Inside, Bai He stands alone in her bedroom, staring at her full length mirror, a wistful expression on her face. Spying something in the corner of the mirror, Bai He looks closer, suddenly delighted to see...

The reflection of Nuo, standing in the room with her. Bai He turns and runs to her, the both of them embracing.

"Nuo!" Bai He exclaimed.

Nuo kneels down before Bai He.

"Hey, kid. I have great news for you."

"What?"

She pulls out something that made Bai He gasp in shock.

"You're finally adopted! You are now officially my daughter!" Nuo happily declared.

There in her hand is a certificate of the adoption. Bai He tears up and hugs Nuo once again.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!!"

Nuo hugs back.

"Now pack your stuff. Because..."

She digs into her bag to pull out her credit card.

"Let's go shopping and get you some things."

Later, a glorious, mind-numbing vista of this shopping paradise as Nuo tugs Bai He by the hand along the aisles. The little girl gasps in wonder at this warehouse sized crop of chic designer fashions.

"It's amazing! Who sewed all these dresses?" Bai He asked.

"Probably some ten-year-old girl in a Third World sweatshop." Nuo shrugged.

"She's good!"

Bai He walks in with Nuo, amazed by the walls and walls of shoes, from stilettos and flats to pumps and platforms.

"Cool new shoes!"

Later, Bai He sits patiently at the make-up counter, Nuo sharing her prepubescent pearls of wisdom with Bai He as she slathers a frighteningly thick layer of make-up on her.

"You know I learned from some people that you don't want to wear too much make-up 'cause otherwise boys get the wrong idea and you know how they are. They're only after one thing."

"What is it?" Nuo asked curiously.

"I'm not sure. Nobody will tell me." Bai He said.

Then they're at the hair salon as Nuo sits in a smock, her wet hair in a towel as she readies to get it cut. Bai He sits next to her, both of them reading glossy fashion magazines. Bai He Leland's in to Nuo, smiling.

"You know I couldn't have done this without you. You were such a big help and I'm happy to be adopted by you."

"Really?" Nuo asked, feeling flattered.

"Really." Bai He nodded.

"Thanks."

"You're welcome."

Bai He returns to her magazine, turning back to Nuo a moment later as she asks in an uncertain whisper.

"So is this what it's like?"

"What, sweetie?"

Bai He hesitates, softly answering.

"Going shopping with your mother?"

"I don't know. I never went shopping with my mother. Nor knew her."

"Me either."

There's a long silent beat between them. Nuo smiles.

"But I like it."

Bai He smiles back.

"Me too."

Nuo wraps her arm around Bai He, an encouraging hug.

"I may never know my mother or father, but I'm glad to have call you my daughter."

After spending the whole day out with Bai He, Nuo takes her to her apartment where Chiang is waiting and the big cat was excited to see the little girl again. They later ate and Nuo gets her to sleep along with the same orange cat she brought along with her. Right now, Nuo is outside, taking Chiang for a walk. Just as she takes a turn around the corner, her eyes catches something glowing in the corner. Nuo and Chiang walks over and spots a shard of the dragon gem.

"Yes! Another! We're getting close!" Nuo said to Chiang.

She kneels down to pick it up when Chiang's ears twitches and she immediately growls, making her stop. Nuo slowly turns, but then gets kicked away in the belly by Draven's soldier. She turns and tries to fight him when he grabbed her by the collar and punched her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground. Chiang roars and tries to attack when all the ropes went flying and wraps themselves around her neck and legs. She tries to get free from theses binds when all the soldiers reveal themselves and pulls the rope, making her fall to the ground and completely bounded.

Nuo gets up and tries to free Chiang while punching them away with her super strength. One managed to grab her by the neck and punched her down. They tied her up and hold her down. Nuo struggled to get up when she saw someone with a hang glider flying over them and they jumped down to reveal Draven as he walks towards her with a smirk.

"Surprise!" he said with his jazzy hands.

"You!" Nuo growled.

Draven picks up the shard and looks at it.

"Oh, is this what you're looking for?" he mocked, holding it up to her face. "Who knew that this shard of the dragon gem would help lure you to me? And now..."

Draven holds her chin up, gripping her cheeks tightly to make her look at him.

"You will never escape from me this time. Shame you won't see your friends again or that little kid."

This made her instantly head butted him. Draven staggered back in shock while his men held her back from doing anything. He rubbed his sore head in pain and glared at her.

"Don't you breathe a word about my daughter!" Nuo sneered.

Draven approaches her slowly and smiles maliciously at her.

"Ohh. Looks like I hit the nerve."

"I swear, if you go near her or any of my friends, I will destroy you." she declared darkly.

Draven then punched her in the stomach again, making her groan.

"Big talk, but just that. Any last words, dragon?"

He brings out a saw as it glimmers. Nuo glares at him.

"My friends will..."

"I'm afraid they won't know and they ain't coming for you."

Draven holds the saw up and looks down at her darkly.

"Nobody is coming."

Just before he could cut her, a familiar golden blur knocked the saw out. Then Draven gets thrown into a wall and into the trash bin. His men looked around frantically when a gold monkey appears before them.

"Wukong!" Nuo said in surprise.

Wukong pulls out some hair and blows it out, creating multiple clones of himself as they started attacking each of Draven's men and freed Chiang. Wukong zooms forward and knocks out two men that are holding Nuo. Nuo was about to fall when he catches her. He looks down at her with worry.

"You alright, Nuo?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. But Draven..." Nuo nodded.

"Already taken care of."

Wukong then noticed a shard on the ground that Draven had dropped and picked it up and handed it to her. Nuo smiles and takes it, feeling another new power. Groans were heard as they turned to see Draven and his men about to get up.

"We should go now." Wukong suggested, summoning his cloud.

Thanks to her super strength, Nuo easily carried Chiang and hopped onto the cloud next to Wukong before he took off. Draven gets out of the trash can just in time to see them getting away. He growls in anger and pulls out his device, showing a blinking red light on screen as it moves to another location. Draven must've somehow made his device to detect the dragon gem shard. He will get Nuo's head one way or another as he and his men follows them toward Flower Fruit Mountain.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After landing safely, Wukong approaches the waterfall and places a hand on it, revealing the golden seal as it opens like a curtain.
"Thanks for saving me, Wukong. I appreciate it." Nuo said, smiling.
"No problem. I thought something was wrong. That man is crazy and he's... kind of intimidating." Wukong said, rubbing the back of his head.
"Yeah." she agreed.
The water closed behind them and torches and leaking sunlight filled her vision of the stone entrance and crumbling pillars. Nuo and Chiang follow behind Wukong as he leads them across the stone path to a large door next to crumbling pillars and overgrown murals and stone, passing by chairs and tables broken and made from stone.
Little monkeys heard their footsteps and rushes over, greeting them. Some climbs up on Chiang and cuddles her, much to her dismay. The big cat attempts to shake them off, only for them to bounce back to her and nozzles her. Wukong and Nuo chuckled as they left the big cat deal with the little monkeys.
Wukong placed both his hands on the door and pushed it open. Warm sunlight and the smell of musty earth, leaves and damp cavern filled her nose as he opened it up to a massive cavern with a small hill with a house and a peach tree at the top of it.
"You can stay here for a while until that maniac calms down or something." Wukong said. "I never have that much visitor in my place besides Mk. It's been a while."
"Thanks." Nuo said.
She took a step inside of the cavern and glance around, walking up the stairs while admiring the place and outside, there was a well, and a small training course. Wukong goes first and opened the door for her to come inside. Nuo went inside and was surprised that the house was made up of one room. It had a straw roof, a porch, and lanterns and herbs hanging outside. The inside had a couch, a TV, a laptop, a chest, several books, and a hammock near the ceiling. She moved over and took a seat on the lone couch. Wukong watched her from the doorframe, his gold eyes were gentle and his whole posture seemed relaxed after she took a seat.
"Your place is nice." Nuo said, getting comfy with the couch.
"Sorry if it's not much, but thanks." Wukong said, looking a little embarrassed.
"You know, I can show you my old kingdom. Then I'll show you the temple and all my treasures." he suggested. "Like a tour?"
"Oh, really? Well, sure!" Nuo said, eyes sparkled a bit to hear the word 'treasure'.
Wukong grinned and started showing her the entirety of his cavern, and the stone temple. They eventually reached a big giant door, making her wonder what's inside. As Wukong pushed open a stone door to a big room filled with what can only be described in one word. Junk. Lots of it.
"Here we are. My treasure room." Wukong said.
Nuo though sweatdropped at the sight before her.
"More like a horde room. How long have you been keeping these things? They might be centuries old."
"I guess you could say that. There's a lot of good things in here. I'll be right back. I wanted to give you something."
Wukong then starts digging into the piles of junks. A thrown artifact clattered against another pile.
"Found it!"
He comes out of his horde and holds out a bronze Gilt inlay gem dragon statue bracelet hand ring.
Nuo's eyes sparkled at the sight.
"Wow."
"I know. I thought I'd give it to you. Hope you like it."
Nuo places a bracelet around her wrist and holds her arm up to admire the sight.
"I love it. What's next of your tour?"
Wukong took her hand and lead her out of the 'treasure room'. He lead her into a very old part of the temple where it turned more cavern and part forest with a giant hole letting the sun shine inside to get a good view. Nuo passed by intact stone tables and to a large stone chair in the center of it all.
"That's your throne?" she wondered.
Wukong chuckled.
"Yeah... I haven't been in here in a long time. It used to be livelier, in the old days."
"When was the last time you ever have visitors in this mountain? I bet this place was beautiful." Nuo asked curiously.
This made Wukong look down sadly as he recalls that good times he has as he glances at the stone table and the vines of ivy covering the throne that's now nothing. He can hear laughter, table being hit, and the sound of cups being clanked together.
"It was... But I... was no longer the rebellion I used to be." he said lowly.
Nuo noticed it and frowned with concern. She can tell that he's sad and doesn't want to push it. She instead changes the subject as she had something that's been on her mind lately. Nuo approaches him and takes him by the hand. He looks surprised as she guides him to the chair for him to sit on. Wukong looks thankful for her concern as she sits down next to him.
"You know, ever since I got here, this world is... kind of like mine back when we're dealing with the Druun problem. One thing that hasn't changed is when you lie to get what you want, like that Macaque back then."
"Yeah, well, the world's broken. Well, almost, but there's still danger lingering around. You can't trust anyone." Wukong said, still not happy about Macaque hurting Mk and Nuo.
"Or maybe the world's broken because you don't trust anyone." Nuo said, looking at him.
Wukong chuckles softly.
"You sound just like my master."
"Well, he sounds like a smart man."
"Yeah, he was. I really wanted to believe him. I really wanted to believe that we could do anything we want without any problems or fears or anything getting in our way."
"And we can."
"Uh, literally everyone that almost got turned to stone would argue otherwise."
"That doesn't mean you shouldn't try." Nuo said.
"And I did. And you already know what happened, right? I got kicked in the back by someone who I thought was my friend. Look around. We're a world of orphans because people couldn't stop fighting over a gem." Wukong explained, frowning. "Want to know why the Celestial Dragons didn't come back? It's because people don't deserve them. I don't deserve them."
"Don't say that. It wasn't your fault. But you can change that."
"No, Nuo, I am done trying. The only thing important to me now, is making sure kid, you, and your friends are safe and being able to save the world from danger."
Nuo frowned at that familiar words that Raya used to tell her and Sisu. She's already getting a sense of deja vu.
"I understand. But you can still make things right. I may not know your story or your relationship with Macaque, but there are others that you can trust and are willing to help you like Mk and me."
Wukong stares at her in shock at her words. Nuo stands up and walks away. She stops and looks back at him.
"Just think about it."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Nuo walks towards the cliff side as she can see a whole view of the mountains. She gotta give credit to Wukong for picking a right place for him to stay. It's so peaceful and quiet. Almost... makes it a little lonely when you live here alone by yourself besides those little monkeys. Nuo sits down by the edge, dangling her feet. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a dragon gem shard. She wondered how many more she have to collect and thinking what would happen after finding them all.

As she was thinking, she didn't notice that something was aiming towards her as a red dot points to her. It revealed Draven and his men as they somehow managed to get to the Flower Fruit Mountain without any problems. Draven is holding the dart gun with a poison dart inside as he gets ready to fire.

"Nighty night, dragon."

Then with one trigger, a poisoned dart shoots toward Nuo, who doesn't notice. Wukong's ear twitches and his eyes widened, sensing something was wrong.

"Nuo!"

He immediately rushed over and found Nuo by the cliff side. He sees a strange glint of a star and grabs the rock and deflects the dart away as it hits against the rock wall, scaring Nuo.

"Wukong!"

Wukong walks past her and inspects the broken dart. He glances over and glares ahead where Draven and his men are. Draven grits his teeth in anger. Nuo finally looks to where Wukong was looking and her eyes widens in horror.

"No way. How did he find us?!"

"Don't know. We need to move now!"

Wukong and Nuo rushed out of the cliff side and out of the Water Curtain Cave with Chiang and his little monkeys following after, sensing something wrong. Draven and his men not too far followed after them as they ran into the jungle. Wukong and Nuo then made it to the same place where they learned how to swing the vines.

Wukong calls up to his monkeys to cause some mischief on Draven's men. The monkeys climb up the tree and grabs the vines before swinging down. They swing for Draven, who somersaults out of the way, ending up hitting his men as they tried to get the monkeys off of them. Draven growls as he watches Nuo and Wukong swing away. He goes to chase after them when Chiang swoops down and charges toward him who leaps out of the way. She skid then knocked two of Draven's men into the air. Draven aims his gun when two monkeys smashes into him from opposite direction with their small golden shield. He staggers at such hard hit and shakes his head out of the dizziness.

Draven looks up, only to be met with Chiang, who roars at him. She sits up and punches Draven in the face multiple times before turning and kicking him away. Draven flies into a tree. Meanwhile, Nuo and Wukong somersaults through the air after swinging from the vines and lands on the tree. The monkeys join them as they hoot in victory. A familiar roar was heard and Nuo and Wukong look down to see Chiang running towards them. Nuo smiles and was about to go after her when sense something wasn't right. She looks ahead and flinches to see Draven getting up from the tree. He grabs the snake by the neck while removing another off of him before punching it as he stands. Draven looks messy and more crazy than ever.

"Oh, no!"

Nuo knew that her big cat friend is in trouble. Draven runs after Chiang.

"Go, Chiang! Climb!" Nuo called out, pointing to the trees that are nearby them.

Draven leaps onto the vine and swings. Chiang climbs from tree to tree. Draven opens his snare as Nuo and Wukong is about to grab Chiang when Draven snatches her from behind.

"No! Chiang!!" she shrieked.

Chiang falls and lands with a painful grunt. She struggles to get out of Draven's snare. He looks down and finds a dart gun.

"I will have your head!"

Chiang digs her claws into the dirt ground as she yowls. Nuo gazes down at Draven and Chiang to the hanging vines then to the shard of the dragon gem in her hand. She glares with determination and holds the shard close to her chest. Nuo turns to the white little monkeys.

"Monkeys! Get me a vine." she ordered.

The little monkeys hooted and saluted and ran off. They managed to get to the vine and throws it at Nuo, who catches it. Wukong turns to her in shock.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"We are doing Trapeze Americano." she said with determination.

He grins.

"Let's do it!"

Draven reaches for his gun. Nuo looks down at the shard, knowing what she needs to do and will get ready. Wukong and Nuo swing through the air and then swoop toward the ground. The little monkey snatches the gun as Nuo snags Chiang, dragging Draven with her. Draven growls and tries to reach her face when she punches him away, but he grabs onto her arm.

"Wukong! Take Chiang!" she shouted, pushing Chiang into Wukong's arms.

He grunts in surprise at how heavy the big cat is, but he gets worried as he and Chiang swings down.

"Nuo!!" he called out.

Nuo and Draven fight high into the air as they lose momentum and fall. Draven punches Nuo repeatedly while she blocks his attack and attempts to punch him back. Wukong tosses Chiang into the tree where the little monkeys are before swinging down after Nuo.

"If I am coming down, your head is coming with me, dragon!!" Draven shouted, bringing out his saw again.

He tries to cut her neck when she holds his wrist and pushes the saw away from her.

"I don't think so!"

With the shard glowing, she summons a cloud underneath her feet. She summons her tail and wraps it around Draven.

"You're going down, but not with my head."

The two then go upward as Nuo jumps. Nuo holds him as he attempts to bite her face while struggling to get out of her grip.

"Your days of chasing the people are over, Draven! Because you just messed with the water dragon!"

Nuo drops Draven as he bounces and falls into the pit that's meant for Nuo. He climbs up the rock and lets out an animalistic yell.

"This is where animals like you belong! Now sit, Draven!"

A dart strikes Draven and he sits down with a funny face.

"Lie down."

He falls face forward to reveal a little monkey the one to shoot Draven on the butt with a dart gun it stole. It giggles mischievously.

"Roll over." Nuo smirked.

He rolls off the rock and falls on his back.

"Good, Draven. Now stay!"

Nuo goes up with clouds underneath her feet as she jumps onto each that she summoned. Wukong smiles and summons his cloud and zooms towards her and grabs her. They fly into the cherry blossom tree then spin up through the air.

"We did it!!" Nuo cheered.

"Yeah!" Wukong agreed, holding her up by the waist.

They hover and gaze into each other's gaze. On the ground, little monkeys and Chiang catch falling petals of the cherry blossom tree. Nuo and Wukong zoom through the falling petals and land on the tree.

"Wukong, thank you again. For saving me and helping me defeat Draven."

"No problem. But I didn't do the all defeating Draven, it was you. You did it."

Nuo smiles and pets Chiang, who purrs. They are now truly free from that crazy hunter Draven.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After that whole incident, Draven and his men are arrested and have been taken somewhere far away where they'll never be seen or heard again. Wukong is right now taking Nuo and Chiang back to Mk and Nuo's apartment as they landed by the window where her room is. Chiang happily jumps in and sleeps on the bed. Nuo looks at Wukong with a grateful smile.
"Thank you again for helping me. I had a good time. Despite everything that's happened, I enjoyed spending time with you." she said, giving him a wink.
Wukong gets bashful.
"Aww, stop. You're making me blush! You're not the only that enjoyed it. And I'm glad to help."
She then gets curious.
"Hey, what did they end up doing with the crazy hunter, anyway?"
Wukong smiles mischievously.
"Let's just say... he's being shipped out. To a place where all the crazy animals like him can roam freely."
Nuo was shocked for a moment before laughing. Wukong started laughing too.
"True! He deserve it."
"Yeah, man you should've seen the look on his face. He was crazy and ugly."
"I can imagine."
Both of them laughed once more. Then they stopped and looked into each other's eyes for a moment. Nuo felt his hand brush against her cheek as she gaze deep into his golden orbs.
Then his face went close to hers, his breath tickled her skin. Nuo's eyes flutter close as she feel his lips against her own. His lips pull from hers for a moment and she open her eyes to meet his. He made a small hum of a noise of accomplishment.
Then he moved away, making her blink when she realized what just happened and her face turned into a giant blush. Before she could say anything, Wukong turned away and summoned his cloud once he's out of the window. He stands on it and looks back at her over his shoulder.
"See you soon, Jie." he winked before taking off.
Nuo blush deeply and she quickly turned and lied down on the bed, feeling tired from everything.
Meanwhile, in the ocean where the ship is floating on top, there in a big cage laid Draven. But he looks much different than he usually was. His body is all tied up that's used for psychotic people while his hair is all messy and not in place. He bares his sharp teeth as he struggled to get out of his binds while muttering nonstop. Draven's eyes especially looked red with swirls circling as he appeared to have lost his mind after his defeat by Nuo. He had never been beated before and that made him angry. He let out a yell and shook the cage around, banging his body against it.
Draven looks through the gap and written on the crate "SHIP TO: POVEGLIA". His eyes widened in horror and he wildly tried to get out of the binds as he gets shipped away. Luckily, the storm came as it shook the entire ship with a strong wave hitting it. His cage fell into the ocean until it floats above the surface. Then, he made it to a deserted island as his fate became much worse. Instead of attempting to get back to Megapolis, he is busy hunting some animals for him to eat and survive while talking to a drawn face of a coconut. Well, he's completely gone and no longer the bother to Nuo as she had a bigger problem to deal with along the way.
