CHAPTER VIII

O

LEO WALKED DOWN THE HALL, TALKING TO HIMSELF. An all-new personal low, even for him. His "conversation" went like this:

"Should've installed more alarms..."

"Nah, more defense because they broke in-"

"Maybe....what about both?"

 Turning into his room, he walked over to the workbench and sat down on the wooden stool. He sighed.

"Maybe 420 Watt electrical field..."

"That would zap us if we got on the ship though..."

He picked up a little hammer sculpture he had made out of glass and started to turn it over in his fingers.

"I want bananas."

"But y squared divided by the 16th root of 56....."

His eyes began to close. Nodding off, his vision started to go blurry. The glass slipped out of his hand.

"Fuzzy bunnies will eat my brains for lunch......."

And with that,  he slumped out of his chair, hit the floor, and passed out.

Leo opened his eyes, and stared at the black sand in front of him. Wait.......Black sand?

His whole head hurt, and he could've sworn he heard screams. Rubbing his forehead and groaning, He sat up.

Then he heard voices.

He slowly moved his hand away from his head and blinked, looking towards the racket.  

 A girl, with grime covering her face and a strange bundle around her ankle, was glaring at a tall, well-muscled teenager. The teenager had his sword out, and was pointing  it at the girl.

"Stop fooling with my head, Gaea! I will never work for you!"  The boy shouted to the ceiling. He was shivering, and his arm was shaky.

The girl said something to the boy that Leo could not hear, and they both began to back up. In sync, they both fell over; the boy on the ground and the girl on a bunch of rocks.

Leo was rather surprised when the bunch of rocks gasped out in pain. The girl sprung up, and looked at her hands. They were now coated in a thick, red substance.

She screamed something at the blond teenager as Leo's vision began to dim.

The scene changed.

 He was in some type of military base, with monsters milling around and guards shouting orders. They were surrounded by tall, barbed wire fences.

Leo-an older, more muscular future Leo- was standing in front of some prisoners, an evil look on his face. He spat on the ground, and said, "You will serve me. Gaea shall rule!"

The real dream Leo looked closer at the prisoners and took in a sharp breath as he realized who they were.

They were his friends.

Jason had metal shackles around his feet and hands, with a band around his neck like a dog collar. Blisters  covered his skin where the rusted shackles had rubbed.

Piper was bound with ropes and gagged. Hazel and Frank were tied as well.

Gaea began to laugh in the background,  taunting, You shall betray your friends and serve me! And you can do nothing about it......

The scene changed again.

He was now in his mother's workshop, his mother smiling down at her eight year old son.

"I'll be right back, mijo."  She wiped her calloused hands on a rag and walked into the back room.The door locked and he heard a muffled yell. The scene began to replay itself.

Over. And over. And over again.

Gaea's sickly sweet voice poured over him, freezing himself in place.

Yes, young 'hero'. She smirked at the last word. You could have saved her.You could have talked to her, you could have stopped her. But no,  It's your fault, Leonardo Francis Valdez.(AN....I made up that weird middle name.  I have no idea what his real one is)

She cackled and he began to awake. It's your fault Leo.......It's all your fault......

He opened his teary eyes to find himself in a white room, lamps swaying on the ceiling. Beds just like his lined the wall, and medical supplies were stuffed in one corner.His fists were clenched, and water droplets were dripping down his face.

"Leo, talk to me." Jason came into view, kneeling by the bed. "You can trust me."

Leo shook his head and wiped the tears away, turning away from Jason. 

"I......I can't tell you."

Yo ho, Jellybeans!!! So how was it????? I'm sry about the cliffhangers......just had to get my depression out. The ending from the MOA was NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!

Might update again tonight.........No way I will 'morrow. Big math test after school. Lots of homework. The usual. Very small chance I will......
