Percabeth #1

This is rly old and I originally posted it separately but it's pretty short so I'm putting it in here.
I can't write. Warning; this is bad because I honestly cannot write today. This is a human AU.

She thought she knew everything.

She didn't.

He'd trusted her, loved her when nobody else had, and she hadn't been able to save him.

She'd thought, for a second, she had.

She hadn't.

He'd died, because of her.

Because she couldn't save him.

Because she was useless.

All that he'd lived through, all that pain and suffering.

All he'd saved her from.

All they'd done, together.

Gone.

Gone, because it no longer mattered.

Gone, because he was dead.

"Wise Girl!" He said, laughing.

She smiled.

"Yeah, Seaweed Brain?"

"Watch how many blue cookies I can eat!"

"You're an idiot, you know that, Percy." She replied, teasingly, laughing.

Happy.

Whole.

Together.

She let the tears fall.

Once, maybe, she would have tried, perhaps in vain, to hold them back, but what was the point now?

He was gone.

He had been everything to her, all that she'd had.

An absent mother.

A neglectful father.

A mean stepmother.

She was like Cinderella, and Percy had been her Prince Charming.

He hadn't had a perfect life, either.

An absent father.

An abusive stepfather.

But his mother had loved him, and his stepfather had been put in jail. His second stepfather loved him like a true son.

He'd been happy.

Loved.

He hadn't had to bother with her.

But he had.

And, because of that one thing, because of that one, selfless act of kindness that she had never before truly experienced, he was dead.

Dead and gone.

His mother had lost her only son.

And she, selfish, stupid, worthless Annabeth, was alive.

The fates were cruel.

But she would live no longer.

"Annabeth! Come push me on the swing!"

"Percy, you're too old for the swing."

"No, I'm not!"

"Seaweed Brain!"

"Wise Girl!"

Words of affection.

Words of love, and happiness, of teasing.

Words of life.

He pulled her close and kissed her, short and sweet.

She smiled, happy, incredibly so.

"I love you, Percy."

"I love you too, Annabeth."

Percy, perfectly imperfect Percy, who had bothered to love her.

"Percy?"

"Hmm?"

"Why do you bother with me? I'm worthless. My own mother left me. You, you're perfect. You have everything. So why bother with me?"

He sat up from where he'd been lounging on the couch. His sea green eyes had stared into her stormy gray ones.

"Annabeth, don't ever think like that. You're amazing, you're smart, you're beautiful, you're strong and talented. I'm not 'bothering' with you, I'm in love with you, and nothing can change that."

She was silent for a moment.

"Thank you, Percy, for everything."

He grinned.

"No problem, Wise Girl."

He had loved her for who she was.

"Percy! Don't eat all the dough!" She shouted happily.

He laughed and danced out of her reach.

"I'm not going to eat all the dough. Look!" He dropped a piece on the floor. "See! Now I won't eat all of it!"

He grinned as she shook her head in exasperation, although she was smiling.

"You're such a Kelp Head."

"Yeah, but I'm your Kelp Head, Annabeth."

She was falling, falling forwards to the water he'd loved so much. It was almost like she was giving him one last hug.

She was going to die, and she was fine with that.

Nobody would save her in time.

"Goodbye, Percy." she said.

She hit the water.

The impact killed her immediately.

Her body sunk beneath the surface, her tears mixing with the salty ocean water.

She woke up with arms wrapped around her.

She shifted, and Percy grunted.

She smiled and lay still, enjoying the silence of early morning.

Content.

She felt she may burst from the happiness, from the joy.

She, Annabeth Chase, was happily in love with Percy Jackson.

Yeah it's pretty bad and my style of writing is def different now but idk
