Chapter 2: Star Gate
"I'm telling you Sebas this isn't fake, I did see it and I have the proof to back me up!" Romario said, feeling annoyed.
"Yeah, well I think you're just being paranoid, and what's this so called photo you keep bringing up? You haven't showed me it as yet." Sebas replied.
"Whoops, I'll send it to you now" Romario said, feeling embarrassed that he forgot to send the picture.
Romario went into his picture gallery and sent the picture to Sebas on Instagram.
"What, exactly is that supposed to be, Romario?" Sebas asked, with a confused look on his face.
"I don't know what it is Sebas, otherwise I won't be here voice chatting; asking you about it right now." Romario said irritated.
"I know, but if this picture is real, you should stay away from that house this object, d-device or whatever it may be, looks dangerous." Sebas said.
"Listen, I didn't call you for a lecture, if you aren't going to help me figure it out then we're done talking." Romario rudely said as he stopped the voice call.
"Well, Sebas was no help at all." Romario said, as he threw his phone on the bed in frustration.
"I've already checked on the internet to see if I could find anything or at least something that looked similar to the thing I saw in the picture, but there was nothing that looked remotely to what I saw."
"Hmmm, maybe Jazzy might know something about it." Romario said as he picked of his phone and dialed Jazzy's number.
The phone rang and rang; eventually, Romario could hear a voice on the phone.
"Hey Romario, what's up?" Jazzy asked.
"JAZZY! Thank goodness, I need your help. There's something I really need you to help me figure out."
"W-Woah ok but slow down!" Jazzy said.
" I'm really sorry, I'll send the picture to you now." Romario replied impatiently as he sent the picture to Jazzy.
"As you can see, it's some sort of gigantic unknown device with a star like feature on the top, along with some weird markings on the sides of it." Romario said.
Jazzy took a good look at it and immediately knew what it was.
"I-It's a S-Star Gate." Jazzy nervously said, while staring at the picture.
"H-Huh a Star Gate, what's that?" Romario asked, with a confused look on his face.
"Yeah, hold on let me find the book I saw it in." Jazzy replied, she rested the phone down and ran to look for the book.
Romario waited there for at least 18 minutes on the phone. When suddenly he heard Jazzy's voice again.
"Hey, Romario are you still there?" she asked, hoping Romario didn't hang up or left.
"Yeah, of course I am dummie." Romario replied, slightly aggravated that he waited so long.
"Well, I found the book! It's a really old and dusty book but that's just the outside cover of it." she replied.
"Anyways, I'm on the page involving the Star Gate and there's a lot about it; I'll try and sum it up for you." She said.
"Ok, cool thanks." I replied, while eating a bag of chips.
"Ok, the book says that it's some kind of portal to other planets, multiverses, and can even allow you to travel back in time." Jazzy said.
"W-What the... that's incredible but doesn't that sound like a fiction or a legend." I replied
"Well, since you asked me about it, I am certain you didn't lie about it, nor did you know what was the device in the picture. If it is indeed a real Star gate, I'm afraid we might have a big problem." Jazzy, nervously replied.
"W-Why, do you think that?" uneasiness settled in me as I asked that.
"Because there's more concerning the Star Gate." she replied.
"Although rumours say the Star Gate can do a lot of these amazing things, it's true purpose wasn't so we would be able to explore new planets and what not: it was to ultimately keep a great darkness from being unleashed." Jazzy said, in a serious voice.
Romario's face turned from excitement to terrified.
"W-Wh-hat are you talking about?" Romario asked as he grabbed a stress ball and started squeezing it.
"Ok, let me give you the entire details." Jazzy said, as she began to read.
"Long ago there were two magical creatures named the Oni and the DemiGod: both were able to create things but also had the power to destroy as well."
"Over time, the two created 2 beautiful planets, they were Mars and the other, Earth. Everything seemed well, until one fateful day the DemiGod decided to use his powers to destroy, on the planet Mars."
"The Oni had no idea what possessed the DemiGod to do what he did but little did he know, the DemiGod's mind was becoming corrupted. Eventually darkness consumed him and he was now obsessed with getting unlimited power and causing only destruction."
"He decided to destroy the planet the Oni took the most time creating, which was Earth.
The Oni, however, was not going to let the DemiGod destroy the thing he worked so hard to create and without rest."
"So, the Oni challenged the DemiGod to a death fight which the DemiGod happily accepted to, and so the two fought."
"The fight lasted for almost 40 years, eventually knowing that he was at his limit in a last ditch effort to save himself and the earth, the Oni used his last remaining powers to create a device that although wouldn't be able to kill the DemiGod, would have the power to trap the DemiGod in it along with his darkness. It was... the S-Star Gate." Jazzy said as she finally stopped reading and rested the book down.
"Hey, Romario are you alright? you're really quiet right now." Jazzy asked, concerned about Romario.
"....I-I'm sorry this is just a lot." Romario replied.
"You're telling me there were 2 magical beings who created Mars and Earth, and one of them was evil and is now trapped in this so called Star Gate, the same device the guy had with him. It's a lot to take in, that's all." Romario said.
"Yeah, I know it's a lot to take in but now is not the time to feel scared or confused, we have no idea what this guy plan on doing with the Star Gate if it even is the Star Gate, he might even be a member of the order of the black sun society." Jazzy said with uneasiness.
"W-Wait what, the order of the black sun society?" Romario asked with uncertainty.
"Yeah, long ago there was also a group of people who found the book I'm holding in my hands right now, after learning about everything this book contained their minds became corrupted, they weren't themselves anymore and seeked power; the same power the DemiGod seeked as well, and so for centuries they searched for the Star Gate." Jazzy explained. "
"They apparently don't exist anymore, but rumours say that remnants of the order of the black sun society are still around lurking in the shadows, their goal is to ultimately free the DemiGod from the Star Gate and together they will obtain unlimited power and riches." Jazzy said.
Romario remained quiet, not saying a single word.
"Romario, a-are you still there?" Jazzy asked, worried.
"I-I'm still here but are you sure that this is all real?" Romario said.
"Huh, what do you mean?" Jazzy asked.
"Well all of this seems like stuff you'd only hear in a movie or show, maybe it's just all made up and how did you even get a hold of a book like that anways?" Romario replied.
"This was one of my father's book he had with him before he left to go overseas to researched more stuff like this, which was 10 years ago." Jazzy explained.
"That explains why we never saw your dad around I guess, but still are you sure he wasn't just crazy?" Romario replied.
"I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW! My father was a great scientist and researcher, he taught me all I needed to know about these kinds of stuff. I have no doubt in my mind, the part about the DemiGod is real." Jazzy said, angered by what Romario said.
"Ok, Ok... I-I'm sorry about what I said, but to see if all of this is true, I think we need to investigate the old house cross the street." Romario replied.
"I think you may be right, I'll tell the others about this as well." Jazzy said.
"Huh, w-wait don't te-" before Romario could finish talking, Jazzy hanged the phone up.
"Damn it! She hanged up, welp there's nothing I can do about it now. I know breaking into someone's house especially since they just moved in is wrong, but we gotta figure out what's going on in that house before it's too late, maybe I'm just being paranoid like Sebas said. Well whatever the case may be I still need to investigate that house, I have this uncertainty about it and I'll never be able to move on until I investigate it." Romario said to himself as he went to get ready for the upcoming break in.
Five hours had passed and it was time to investigate the house. Romario met up with Jazzy at the planned meeting place, she was accompanied by Sebas, Luna and Staci.
"Staci, what are you doing here?" Romario rudely asked.
"Sorry, Romario she kinda followed us here." Jazzy said.
"I wanted to see what y'all were up to and I was bored." Staci replied.
"Ugh! whatever, let's just get going we need to enter the house fast and see if the thing I saw was really the Star Gate." Romario said.
"T-This isn't a good idea you guys, you can get into serious trouble if you find nothing there." Sebas warned us.
"Hey, we don't have time to care about what's wrong and whats right, we can't just leave this guy alone to do who knows what with the Star Gate, if it even is the Star Gate." Romario said.
After saying those words, Romario began to run towards the old house.
"He's so stubborn." Luna said.
"Well, I do think we need to investigate the house as well, Sebas are you with us?" Jazzy replied.
"hmmmm, o-ok fine let's just get this over with." Sebas said.
They all proceeded to run after Romario, eventually catching up to him and reaching their destination.
"Ok guy's we're here, let's be really quiet while approaching the house we don't want to be noticed." Romario said.
They slowly walked towards the house, without making a sound.
They finally reached the front door and realized the door was slightly opened.
Romario turned the door knob slowly and they proceeded to enter the house.
"Ok, we're in now, we need to split up and see if we can find the Star Gate. I sent y'all the picture of what it looks like." Romario said.
"Yeah but Staci doesn't know what it looks like though." Luna replied.
"Ugh, well uh finee s-she'll just have to tag along with me I guess." Romario said.
Everyone were obviously shocked to hear Romario say that, even Staci herself was shocked, which caused a smile to form on her face.
"Ok look, you gotta stop smiling so much it's really annoying." Romario said.
"Oops, I-I'm sorry. Let's just get going then." Staci replied.
Everyone went in different locations of the house. Luna looked upstairs, Sebas looked in the living room, while Jazzy checked the kitchen. The only place left to look was the basement which should've been their first choice.
Romario and Staci slowly approached the basement door and were about to open the
door, when they heard a loud sound coming from below them.
"He's definitely down there, we gotta inform the others about this quick." Romario said.
They both rushed off to tell the others about the sound they heard coming from the basement.
Eventually they all met back up in the living room and proceeded to the basement door.
"So, you're sure he's down there?" Sebas asked.
"I'm positive he's down there, we heard a loud sound coming from there plus it's the only place we haven't checked as yet; the Star Gate must be down there." Romario said.
"Well, after you Romeo." Jazzy said.
"Sigh, please don't call me that, let's just get going." Romario replied.
Romario slowly opened the basement door and the five of them proceeded down the basement stairs, not making so much as a creak but what await them there was nothing they could've anticipated.
They all hid behind the basement staircase, the man suddenly turned around revealing his face.
"W-W-Wait huh, what is he doing here." Jazzy said
"What are you talking about, do you know him?" Romario asked.
"That's the man who gave me this book." Jazzy said as she pulled out the same old dusty book that had information about the Star Gate.
"Wait y-you d-don't mean-" Romario replied.
"Yes....m-my father." Jazzy said.
