Nya's POV:

I don't know why I did it. But I did. I just leaped into his arms. 

He seemed surprised. Well, that was the least of it. He was totally confused, and so was I. 

His arms were so strong and warm. I squeezes him tighter, and then he did something that made my heart race. 

He squeezed me back. 

We stayed like that for a while. I'm not sure how long, but it wasn't long enough. He pulled away so he could get a better look at my face, which obviously gave away sighs of my little crying session. 

"N-Nya. Are you sure you're okay? You can tell me, you know. You can trust me." He whispered, his voice echoing in the cold night air. 

I for some reason, I knew that I could trust him. I had this... Feeling that he would never break his word. But all that came out was: 

"It's not much. Just... Some memories..." I murmured, which I stupidly knew would only increase his curiosity. 

I was too afraid to look up. Get lost in his hazel gaze. But I didn't need to look up. He gently grabbed my chin with one hand, the other around my waist. He pulled up my face until our eyes met. 

"Don't tell me it's nothing, Nya. It's not. Just... Please, tell me why your crying." His voice seemed concerned, but that was the way my father sounded when he tried to squeeze information from me... 

~~~ Flashback ~~~ 

"Pull yourself together, Nya. Now, tell me, what is the matter?" He asked me, his eyes full of concern. 

"I-I don't want to explore. I want to stay in Bloquear, with you and mother and Tali. I want to chose a career here, something that will benefit everyone. And someday, I want to find someone who will love me forever, and I will stay with them until my heart stops beating." I told my father, meaning every word. Then I realized my mistake. 

Father's eyes showed not real, but pretend, fake concern for me and my wishes. He just wanted to find out what I really wanted just so he could use that to manipulize me into becoming an explorer of the IEM. His eyes became dark, unloving. He gripped my shoulder so tightly it hurt, and I couldn't help feeling afraid. 

"What are you talking about, you stupid, worthless girl? Love means nothing. Family means nothing. Home means nothing. How dare you fantasize with unrealistic hopes and dreams when you could be out there, making a difference and improving our family name? The de'Analov's name has been the name of many different and famous explorers and adventurers, so you have no right to change that! I was right, we should of gotten rid of you when you were born. A son would not of defied his father!" he yelled at me, his words scarring me more than a blade ever could. I held back tears, while he kept on yelling at me, telling me he should have gotten rid of me when he had the chance, and that I was worthless to him. 

I made a vow, that day. To never in my whole life let my Father down. 

~~~ End of Flashback ~~~ 

"Nya? Nya, answer me." 

Before I knew it, I was telling him everything. My father, my family, Bloquear, the IEM, the temple, and the mysterious diamond sword. And he listened to every word. 

"Sounds like your life is a bit messed up then, Nya." He said when I finished, making me smile. 

His face lit up when he saw me smile. Before I knew it, we were hugging again. I squeezed him close, never wanting to let go, to leave the safety o his arms. 

"I promise, I'll never let anyone hurt you again, Nya. You hear me? Never." 

And I believed him with all my heart.
