Zach's POV

We both stood there watching the remains of the once working portal. I felt like hitting something; I was so frustrated.

"What should we do?" Harry's voice was becoming panicky. "Without the portal, we're stuck here."

I shook my head, trying to think things through. "Well, did you bring the flint and steel with us? We could re-light it from this side." Harry shook his head sadly. My hope disappeared faster than a lightbulb. "Well, what did you bring then?" I snapped at him, trying to keep my panic from rising any further.

"Umm..." Harry took of his backpack, and after a quick search, he swore under his breathe. "I'm sorry about the lighter; I must of left it in the other backpack. I took off the bigger one 'cuz I thought it might slow us down too much. I thought I packed the important stuff." He swore again.

I dragged my hand through my hair. "We have food, right?"

"Yes, but not a lot."

"And weapons?"

"Plenty of those."

"Good."

I took the small trace of netherack from the clearing we found and compared it to the red landscape all around us. "Yep. Exactly the same." I sighed in relief. At least we knew we were on the right track.

Now all we had to do was find Nya.

Suddenly I heard another wail, filling the hot, stuffy air and echoing off the walls. Harry and I hid behind some netherack; neither of us wanted to face a second ghast. Luckily for us, it flew right past where we were hiding. I'd studied ghasts before; I knew my share about them. And I knew a ghast flying directly in a straight line wasn't normal. It took a sharp turn to the left, disappearing behind a cliff. I grabbed Harry. "C'mon, let's follow it."

Harry looked startled, but thankfully didn't question me. I don't know why I wanted to follow it so bad; just a gut feeling, I guess.

We chased after it, which was easier said than done, because while it had the simple path of flying through the air, we had to dodge cliffs and lakes of lava. It took a lot longer than expected, but we kept up with it. Suddenly the cliff faces broke away into a huge clearing; but it wasn't just a clearing...

Harry, huffing and puffing, finally caught up to me. "Hey, wait up, remember that you're faster than me." Suddenly he looked up at what I was staring at. His mouth dropped open in awe. "Is that..."

I nodded slowly. "Yep. That's Herobrine's Palace."
