I instantly pulled my sword out of my inventory. I half-hid it under my clothes, hoping the eeire low-lit room would smother its glint, and my eyes began searching the cavern for anything out of place. I noticed something stand out from the otherwise jeweled shrine. Something - something brown and . . . wooden?

When I walked over, I was suspiciously amazed at what I found; a chest. However, this chest was strange. There was red around the lock. Oh well, I concluded, moving my hands to lift the lid anyway

I opened it, not expecting to see the item laying inside.

A sword. A shining, shimmering brand-new diamond sword. It was so beautiful.

It seemed to absorb me. All I could think about was this sword that was now in my hands, the side of the blade running between my fingers. I heard a dull click from below me.

The floor dropped from my feet. I leaped in panic, my feet just landing on the edge of the whole I nearly fell through. The sword was still firm in my grip. Looking down into the whole, I noticed the bottom was filled with a glowing hot liquid. Lava.

Turning around, I looked at Steve. Something happened when I locked my eyes on his oblivious turned head. There was this urge at the back of my mind becoming stronger and stronger each time its voice echoed. It was slowly taking over, leaking through gaps of my thought to devour my senses.

Kill him. He wants the sword. He wants MY sword. And he'd do anything to get it. I was sure of it.

I slowly dragged the blade across the ground, gradually getting closer to Steve. His eyes were still on the giant imbedded statue on the wall. As my actions led me forwards, I fought to keep myself still, begging with whatever was invading me to listen to reason.

What was happening to me? Why did I want to kill him? Steve has done nothing but help me! Why? I continued to debate with myself, trying to force the desperate urge for blood out of my mind, but it never left. It was haunting me. It wouldn't disappear.  Within seconds, the urge became overwhelming.

I had to kill him.
