No one would make the first move. Tomura was about to kill someone, I was sure of that, Dabi was ready to burn us all to ash, Toga was about to stab someone, and Kurogiri was ready to stop us all, the others awaited their orders.
"Mr. Compress, Kurogiri," Tomura finally said with a pointed finger back my way, "Put them back to sleep." My body was trembling again, the boy didn't move an inch, and slowly, slowly, I stood again. It hurt to move as it always did and I could feel a trickle of blood come from the side of my head, but right now that didn't matter to me. Right now I could leave, I could leave with this boys-
"Hello, I got a pizza delivery here," Someone said with a knock at the door just behind Tomura. My body jumped from the very sound, something I had never heard before, yet I was so distracted by my deep question... what was pizza?
Another loud sound made my heart pound so much I couldn't stop coughing, this time the whole sidewall between us, collapsing. People coming from the other side of it, with a single yell from a big man wearing red and blue. SMASH!
Scared for my life, I dropped to the floor and clung to the boy's leg now, trembling in complete terror, but not even that would last very long. Someone made of wood was able to swing in before even Kurogiri could warp everyone out of there. The wood stretched and wrapped tightly around everyone inside, except for that boy.
"GAH!" The wood that had snagged me was cutting through some scars that never seemed to heal, and holding tight to new bruises that were still extremely painful to bear. Things moved so fast, but the only thing I did know was that this was it... this was the end. I could hear someone say it... "You can't run anymore, League of Villains. Understand? Because we are here now!" I opened my eyes through the pain, it was the big man in yellow and red and blue and white. He was... smiling.
"Hey! Wood Guy! Let her go! This girl with the long hair was captured by them too!" The boy said as he reached out to pull me from their tight grasps. My body shook as his hands made contact with my bare ankle. A trembling touch that I couldn't ignore.
"Apologizes!" The wooden guy said as the wood began to slowly release me. I fell back to the ground, the boy's arms keeping me upright as a strange wave of some unknown emotion hit me like never before. I wrapped my arms around the boy, my fist balled into the back of his shirt as I began to cry yet again. He flinched back hard this time before his breath steadied and he whispered to me. "Hey, it's okay..." He didn't touch me, he just let me stand there, let me stay close. "The Pros are here now."
"You two must have been scared," A voice said as steps approached us. I looked up slowly between the shades of my hair, just past this new boy. The large man was coming over to us, a wide smile still on his face. I recognized him, from a poster my Mom used to have, one that now hung up and ripped in All For One's room. What was his name? "But you stayed strong. I'm sorry, you're both safe now." He reached towards us and seeing that reaching hand... Tomura's reaching hand, was enough for me to let the boy go and fall back against the nearest wall. I crouched down and kept my knees buried in my chest, shielding myself with my hands so I covered my neck and my head.
"You're scared of All Might?" The boy asked and began to reach for me, but this man stopped him.
"I believe she's more afraid of those still around us," All Might said, his smile never wavering, "Hold your ground, she seems to trust you so keep her safe!" He held a thumb up as the boy turned back to me, just looking at me and doing nothing else.
"Kurogiri! Warp over as many as you can!" Tomura shouted.
"The Nomu, right?" All Might asked soon after. No... if those things showed up then... no...
"What are you waiting for damn it?" Tomura said as Kurogiri struggled with his warp.
"I'm sorry Tomura Shigaraki," Kurogiri replied, "The Nomus were supposed to be in a fixed location but, they're gone."
"It seems you have a lot to learn, Shigaraki," All Might said, "You're still green. Your little League underestimated all of us; the soul of these young kids, the police's diligent investigations, and, our righteous furry." The boy helped me to stand, letting me cling to him as tight as I wished, but he made sure to keep me behind him. Still shielding me from the only people I had ever known. "Enough is enough! Your game has come to an end, Tomura Shigaraki!" I could barely breathe... but when I finally could catch my breath, it hit me hard. If the Nomus weren't here... if someone else was stopping them then... they were with All For One.
"No," I said quietly into his shirt, shaking even more. Anyone, with him, was in danger... they would die, "They need to leave..."
"What?" The boy said as I clung tight to him, my body trembling to the point where his body followed suit with mine.
"You think it's over? Don't be stupid... I've only just begun to play. Justice, peace, you created a garbage society by lifting up such garbage ideals. That's why I targeted you, All Might." He was forcing himself to stand, even in the tight wooden grasp. "It's why I started gathering people to my cause. You think this is the end, then you've lost. Kurogiri!" A sharp red line slipped through Kurogiri as Tomura spoked and I had to look away.
"Weren't you listening earlier?" An old man said as he stepped forward, his body cloaked in yellow and white, "You'll all be better if you take us seriously."
"It's okay," The boy whispered to me, his hand gently touching my back as I flinched to him, "The Heroes know what they're doing..." Not against him.
"No... this is... not over," Tomura said, almost yelled, his eyes burning along everyone, but his gaze only stayed on me, "Just you wait, the game is still mine. I will get my piece back, just you wait and see, she's still my pawn to play!"
"You'll tell us where he is right now," All Might said quickly. I tugged on the boy's shirt, I finally had a chance to escape and with him standing beside me... I knew I could do it.
"Run," I whispered, my voice so shaking and rough that it barely sounded like a word in general.
"Go away," Tomura said, "Disappear."
"SHIGARAKI!" I flinched back at the sudden screams from the two.
"THIS IS YOUR FAULT!" Tomura yelled, "I HATE YOU!" From behind him, watery warps appeared on his shout. This wasn't Kurogiri's warp, the sound was clean and open, the matter was liquid, a black sludge that had engulfed me once before. I let the boy go and backed up to the wall, trembling at the sight, knowing that he'd reach for me and pull me back to him. All For One, he wouldn't let Tomura lose so easily, nor would he let me go at the same time.
"No," I muttered, the boy turning and reaching for me, "No..." I covered my mouth as hard tears came pouring out.
"Don't release them under any circumstances!" All Might ordered, and not too long after he had, the watery ooze erupted from my mouth, and the boy's as well.
"Crap!" He shouted through his wavering breaths.
"Bakugou!" All Might yelled and reached for him, the old man in yellow jetting my way, neither being able to reach us in time. His reach... the old man's... All Might... wasn't smiling... their eyes were afraid. Did they know this power to? Did they know that it was All For One?
I learned quickly that All For One's warp was much colder than Kurogiri's. A lot more painful as well since it took hold from the inside and would cut off your breathing for a short time, but this pain was small battle compared to what I'd go through on a normal basis. Compared to what I'd go through once it was all over. Still, the feeling of losing breathes I'd never get back was so unsettling, was it like this for her?
"Damn it! The hell?" I could hear him coughing as we arrived back where it all started. All For One standing between that boy... he stood between Bakugou and me. I know All For One could see inside that room we were just in, he could see him protecting me, and he couldn't have him doing that. Not now.
"My apologizes, Bakugou," All For One said, his voice cool and calm, while I was forcing myself to stand behind him. My body weak from all the hits I'd taken today, my breathing was shallow and empty, and it hurt to move... but if I didn't... then what would happen?
One by one the rest of them began to appear in front of him, but All For One was focused completely on Shigaraki in the middle of them. "So, you failed once more, Tomura? But you must not be discouraged, you'll try again." He was walking away from me, if I could just stand up, I could run... this was my chance... to escape. Bakugou's eyes on me, he knew this too, that despite everything it wasn't the time to stand and watch. "That's why I brought your associates back with you. Even these children, because you judged that they were important pieces on your gameboard."
"Come on," Bakugou whispered as he took my arms in his hands, I flinched at the touch, not from pain but from being touched in general. As I looked up I could see it, the look in his burning red eyes that he wanted to help me run away from here... No, he already knew that he would help me, no questions asked. Nothing would change his mind. If I didn't leave, neither would he.
"Start over as many times as it takes," All For One said and gave a hand to Tomura. My eyes fixed on them as Bakugou tried to pull me along through the shadows. This scene... it was something I've seen so many times before, on days when I could sleep and wasn't as sick. Days when she would find a way back into my memory.
"We'll start over as many times as it takes... until we can see that sunrise," Her words made me want to stay here, to see the next steps, the next reaction... the next move in this game. But the forced smile behind it, made me want to run away even more.
"I am here to provide you with help. All of this... is for you," All For One said as both Bakugou and I were stuck staring now. We knew we had to leave, but... neither of us could move anymore. Neither of us knew how to react, though we knew what we had to do. "Ah... There you are."
All Might was here, charging full-speed at All For One, fists ready. He wasn't smiling anymore, and his tone was angrier than before, "I'll have you return those kids to me, All For One."
