Chapter 12: DxD
(Your POV)
*CLANG*
Five days have passed since the attack on both the Carmilla and Tepes Factions; both attacks were repelled, thankfully. While we did manage to save the Tepes Faction, the Carmilla Faction had to be saved by Vagus, who allegedly fought and killed every dragon there using a churro stick he found in the trash.

Upon hearing the reports of Rizevim, all mythologies from around the world were sent into a panic. I heard from Coyote that the North American spirits finally began allying with one another to stand a fair chance against the other gods. Mwindo, Cernunnos, Pele, Quetzalcoatl, Nootaikok, Hanuman, Anubis, and Yozakura informed me that the gods in their respective regions were panicking as well, especially since Trihexa may end the world. Hanuman also informed me that Shiva himself was preparing for all out war. Only the chief gods know of Rizevim's plans with Trihexa, it was made a secret because if we did, it would cause a worldwide panic.

The tarot isn't just standing by, however, I ordered the tarot to find the most useful humans in history and recruit them. My eyes were set on Jack the Ripper, Lu Bu, Grigori Rasputin, King Leonidas, Crazy Horse, Genghis Khan, Miyamoto Musashi, Nzinga, Catherine the Great, Cleopatra, Boudicca, Muhammad Ali. All of them would be helpful, so we need to find their reincarnations, and if they're of age, then we'll try to recruit them. If they reject it though, oh well. While some of those people may have been pretty terrible people in the past, their reincarnations are born with the modern morals of their respective regions, so they probably won't be as bad. Plus their reincarnations still possess all their past lives' abilities and skills, so that's a plus.

As for me?
I was in the process of working on a new sacred gear.
My goal is to create a new Longinus.
"Heracles, hand me Areadbhar." I outstretched my hand, and Heracles, who was acting as my assistant along with Bikou, Le Fay, Jeane, and Gogomagog, to help me create a new Longinus.
"OW, DON'T MAKE ME BREAK YOU." I turned around to see Heracles was literally wrestling Areadbhar, which grew a mouth to bite Heracles with razor sharp teeth.
"Heracles, you need to grip it close to the blade and firmly hold it like a snake." Jeane was holding onto two swords, Beagalltach and Orna. "(Y/N), I'm not sure why you don't just use these weapons. Like, Rizevim is capable of neutralizing sacred gears."
"I know, but what if he's unable to even realize it's a sacred gear?" I asked the girl as I wiped the sweat off my brow.
The six of us were in the garage, where the workbench was. I was just wearing a white tank top that had oil stains on it, oil covered jeans, and steel toed boots. I had my hair tied back with a mint green bandana. Everyone else was wearing their own casual clothes. In a series of boxes were a bunch of mythical weapons from Dagda, who went back to Ireland to take care of some business. Everyone was in a panic ever since the two most powerful vampire factions almost collapsed. I was currently smelting these legendary weapons to properly mix them together into one special weapon that could wield all their power. Yet I could tell even with all these weapons, creating a Longinus would be difficult. I need the power of something but what? It's not like I can ask a god to rest inside my sacred gear without warning.
"Yo, (Y/N)!" I turned around to see Sairaorg walking into the garage, with Sona, Seekvaira, and Zephyrdor following him close behind. "It's been a while friend, how have you been?"
"Sairaorg, it's nice to see you again." I greeted from the forge as the four devils walked towards me, seemingly ignoring the former Khaos Brigade members. "How have you been?"
"I've been training to get on your level, and now I'm pretty confident I can beat you now!" Sairaorg joked before holding his fist out to me, was this what people called a fist bump? I should try it. So I fistbumped Sairaorg. "I've started working with my Longinus, and I think I've gotten pretty good at it."
"That is nice to hear, since Regulus really deems you worthy as his wielder." I then decided to ask the question that was on my mind since he showed up. "So what brings you here?"
"The First Generation Sun Wukong told us to meet us here, along with some former members of the Khaos Brigade, some angels, and the members of the tarot." Sona informed me, and I raised an eyebrow. "Everyone is in the backyard, waiting for Azazel to show up."
"Oh, I guess then we should get up there then." I turned off the furnace and told my helpers to put the weapons in their boxes, but Heracles just chucked Areadbhar into the nearby ceiling. "Feel free to lead the way."
I followed Seekvaira and Zephyrdor up the stairs, grabbing my seal's coat to make myself somewhat presentable. We reached the living room before turning to the glass doors that lead to the backyard, where the Stone of Destiny sat in the middle of. I saw the Rias, Sairaorg, Sona, Seekvaira, Issei, and Zephyrdor peerages were sitting together, meanwhile, I noticed Vali's Team and the Hero Faction were sitting awkwardly close to the devils. Meanwhile, I saw Griselda sitting next to Irina, but also beside an unknown man. I don't know how, but I can tell right away that this man wields a Longinus. I also saw every member of the tarot there as well, but they were scattered all over the place. No one sat in the middle of the backyard where the Stone of Destiny was, kind of like a stage. I decided to sit next to my girlfriend, and when I sat down, I noticed that the members of the tarot scooted a bit closer to me.
"Yoooooo~~" Sarah appeared behind me with a mischievous smile. "So how does it feel to be dating a hot girl. Mind you, my girlfriend is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY hotter than Rias, but I guess it's somewhat comparable."
"Oi, Sarah, now is not the time." Yozakura used her steel wires to pull Sarah away from me and next to her and Nemo.
"So, everyone, I'm sure you've heard by now, but Rizevim Lucifer is back on the world stage, has a new organization called the Qlippoth, and he plans to release 666." Azazel's voice came from above, and we all looked up to see Azazel using his wings to fly towards us before landing beside the Stone of Destiny. "Some people would even go as far to call this the most dangerous situation of all time."
"Has anyone ever told you that you suck as a motivational speaker?" Sarah crossed her arms.
"Since this incident isn't exactly something we can ignore, even those people who didn't want to join our alliance are kind of forced to join." Azazel dismissed his wings. "So that's a win!"
"That bastard Rizevim is trying to throw this world and another world into absolute chaos and destruction." Sun Wukong stepped up and joined Azazel on the grass. "After causing so much destruction in the vampire territories, we can not simply ignore this threat."
"I SUGGEST WE KNIT SWEATERS WITH RIZEVIM'S ORGANS!!!!!" Nahele shouted, and despite being in Peru for a while, he's only gotten somewhat better at speech. "AND THEN, WE PLAY HOPSCOTCH IN HIS CHEST CAVITY."
"I second that option!" Bikou raised his hand, only to get swatted down by Sun Wukong extending his staff.
"No! We must treat this situation with great care!" Wukong shouted at his grandson. "You saw what they could do to entire factions, one wrong move and the whole planet will end up like them! We need to make sure everything goes right, otherwise the world will be destroyed by Trihexa, or Trihexa fighting Great Red."
"Good news though, all the other factions know how much of a threat Rizevim is even though he has been in hiding forever, so now it's VERY unlikely that they'll try attacking us." Azazel tried lifting everyone's spirits, since all of this was pretty bad news. "Sure now there's a super scary murder devil out there, but hey, at least we're united!!"
"If it helps, Michael has also been working on branching out to other factions to form better bonds with them." Griselda informed us, I always kind of wondered how Michael was doing. He seems nice. "Plus he managed to help calm some of the more aggressive factions down to the point where they WON'T attack Rizevim recklessly."
"Oh, speaking of Michael, he and the other leaders came to an agreement." Azazel pulled out a letter. "We made something right with the Tarot idea, so we all came to another agreement, we should make something of an addition to it. A team consisting of angels, Valkyries, gods, buddhas, fallen angels, devils, yokai, spirits, humans, and just about anything else. Yet it's skilled enough to work independently to protect everyone."
"What's wrong with the tarot?" Nootaikok was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. "Clearly we can do the job just fine."
"While the Tarot is powerful, some of the Faction Leaders aren't confident in some of your abilities since some of you are either abandoned gods, lesser known gods, folk heroes, or humans." Sun Wukong informed the Tarot, and he was right in a way. Due to history and the destruction of faiths, many of their stories have been lost. "They're only really confident in a small handful of you, namely Galahad, Hanuman, Anubis, and Quetzalcoatl. It also doesn't help that most of them don't believe women can do anything useful. But this is Zeus and one other god I won't be naming we're talking about so..."
"Yozakura, looks like my gunpowder buttplug has found a new purpose." Sarah smiled evilly, and Nemo backed away from her.
"So with this, I officially name every member of the new Anti Terrorist Force." Azazel took a deep breath in. "The Rookies Five, Slash/Dog, Michael's Brave Saints, The Five Dragon Kings, the Tarot, the Hero Faction, the Third Year Talented Course Students of Kuoh Academy, the first Sun Wukong, Vali's Team, myself, and finally, the Tarot."
"I'm okay with teaming up with all of you, now would be a good time to learn to team up with each other." Rias agreed to the idea rather quickly.
"If it means I get to fight alongside my cousin Rias, and my rival, (Y/N)l then I'll gladly do it." Sairaorg welcomed the challenge.
"I have no objections." Sona was quiet as she adjusted her glasses.
"I'll do my best to support everyone." Seekvaira accepted the idea rather slowly after thinking it over.
"Yeah...go team..." Zephyrdor looked depressed, I guess that's because he still hasn't gotten over his defeat with Sairaorg.
"I suppose this means we'll have to stay closer to HQ, doesn't it?" Tobio asked me, after all, he was my Death Card. Not sure if you've forgotten, but all members of Slash Dog are now in the Tarot.
"So...what about the name?" Issei raised his hand awkwardly, and all of us just looked at him. "Hey, I don't want to be called JUST the Counter Terrorist Group. So what should we call it?"
"DxD."
Everyone turned their heads to face the new voice, and Simo even pulled out his sniper rifle instinctively to aim it at the source of the voice. The source of the voice was from the top of the lighthouse, but that's not what shocked us. What shocked us were the amount of people that were dotting the roof. How did they get there so quietly??? There was no limit to the diversity of these people, there was a dwarf with a greatsword, a robot boy, a crocodile with a red spear, and even two golden knights in differing sizes I thought looked somewhat familiar. The person at the top of the lighthouse had gills, wore blue, his long thick hair was flowing with the wind as a golden dragon pendant dangled from his neck. King Zenorse.
"Zenorse, who are these people?!" Azazel shouted at the mysterious man, who crossed his arms.
"Oh, these guys?" Zenorse gestured to everyone. "These guys are the 69 Warriors Requiem, all of whom are above level 500 now. And just so you know, they're all 100% down for joining Team DxD."
"Team DxD...not a bad name, what does it mean?" Vali looked at the mysterious man, who simply shrugged.
"Some day it means Devil x Dragon, or Devil x Devil, or Dragon x Dragon." Zenorse smirked while looking down at all of us. "Personally, I just think it sounds cool and like to think it means Doom x Danger, hell, or it can mean Dragon of Dragons to mean Great Red. Pretty dope huh?"
"DxD...I kind of like that name." Cao Cao thought to himself. "It sounds like the name of something really cool."
"Or an erotic light novel series." Nico was sitting beside Kiba happily eating some gingerbread cookies.
"So now that we've got a name, how about we choose a leader." Azazel looked around before pointing at Michael's joker card. "The Leader will be...you, Dulio."
"Eh?! Why me?!" Dulio's reaction was quite loud, but despite its volume, it was more like he was complaining about it. "Isn't (Y/N) a better option?"
"Well you're kind of our only option, because we didn't only need someone powerful, but someone who also gives us a good image." Azazel reminded Dulio. "Think about it, us fallen angels and devils have a bad rep because some dick decided to write multiple books where WE were the bad guys, and me in particular but whatever. So devils and fallen angels are a no go, but I'll be a tech adviser. Wukong over here is too old, so he'll only be second in command. Our third option was Zenorse, but we have no idea what he is."
"But if that's the case, wouldn't Griselda be a better option?" Dulio tried handing his work off to her, but she flatly rejected it. "Or why not (Y/N)?!"
"Not only is he a devil, but he hasn't graduated high school yet!" Azazel shouted at the angel. "So now that everyone is in agreement, let's get to training. After all, I want everyone in this team able to take down at least one high class angel, high devil, or whatever Nico is."
"I still have no idea what Nico is."
"You're her uncle."
"I know, but there are some things I just don't know."

(Third POV)
The aurora borealis was missing one particular night in the land of mystery. There was always a borealis above this mysterious land, yet this was the first night it was missing. There was a kingdom in the distance, a kingdom that was once full of lights and sounds of celebration but now it was eerily quiet and dark. There was no activity in the entire kingdom, not even the wind wasn't performing its usual dance. The only activity that could be found was far from the abandoned kingdom, underneath a tree with rainbow colored leaves. Underneath this tree, a man dawning a black cloak was digging dirt into a grave. This grave is the last of hundreds of graves. Some of these graves had weapons above them, but all of them were hand made graves with their names written on them.
"Vagus is sorry." The cloaked man finished piling dirt on top of the corpse. "Vagus is sorry for not being there for Abigail, but Vagus can at least bury Abigail beside someone Abigail was closest to, surrounded by Abigail's friends."
Vagus rested one knee in the dirt and bowed before the grave respectfully, tears dripped from his rainbow colored eyes. Everyone in this kingdom of mystery was dead, killed by an unknown force, yet Vagus could easily figure out who was behind this massacre. He got up from the dirt and began walking over each of the graves, silently giving them each a small prayer before grabbing the weapons that lay on whatever graves had them. He covered the weapons in a golden electricity, causing them to stick together like magnets as he carried them to the grave before coming across the last and final two tombs.
"Don't worry, Steve and Alice, Vagus will be okay alone." Vagus tried smiling, but it wouldn't appear on his face. "Vagus is sad that everyone left this plane, but Vagus knows they'll be happy to see Alice and Steve again. Vagus will help the Last Reincarnation defeat Yuha, that way Alice, Steve, and Everyone else can finally rest in peace. Vagus will be okay...Vagus will be okay...Vagus will be okay..."
In the eerie silence of death around him, he was the only voice the world had left.
"...I will be okay..."
(A/N: I always kind of wondered why DxD was called that, like was it always planned to be an organization name? Like I literally only learned that it meant devil x dragon, devil x devil, OR dragon x dragon recently. I honestly assumed it was meant to be DD as in the chest size. Honestly, I'm kind of surprised it wasn't meant to be a tiddy reference, but at the same time, kind of glad it wasn't. Anywho, thank you all so much for reading!
