Berserkers, Mages and Toads.
It took a little longer to leave then Aqua would have preferred, but Izuku insisted they stay until he made sure the cave was structurally stable and was safe to pass through. A quick use of earth based devil fruits and the shortcut looked good as new. Then Aqua spoke up about wanting to bring IIIfang's minions back too, and when Izuku asked why she merely said there might be a bounty on them as well which Izuku concluded was a good point. So with a quick use of the Dark-Dark fruit's Abasyal Descend, the monsters' bodies were dragged into the darkness for easy transportation back.
With their business settled they left the cave and made their way back to Axel where to their surprise quite a large group of people including everyone from the bar was waiting for them. Upon seeing them Luna's eyes lit up but before she could speak Mohawk spoke up. "Well did you do it?" He asked with everyone leaning forward eagerly and with expectedly. Izuku without so much as a twitch summonsed darkness around him and before anyone could gasped the bodies of IIIfang and the sentinels flew out and landed on the ground in front of gathered townspeople.
This time they did let out a surprised gasp as they saw the monsters that had been causing an endless supply of problems the last few months lay dead in front of them while the two who had taken them on were despite being so highly specked looked completely unharmed. "Hey, it that really him? Someone make absolutely sure." An adventurer wearing armor and a battle axe demanded while a few hunter class adventures looked the corpse over until they finally gave the confirmation that it was indeed the real IIIfang.
Having it be confirmed for them the people could no longer hold in their cheers and happiness. Finally they could not only move to the towns fast and easy again but they could also start trading freely again. By no means was Axel anywhere close to poverty but the town's people couldn't help but converse what they had and watch how much they payed for goods. Now with Illfang gone it felt like a weight was off their shoulders and they could breathe easily again.
In an instant the crowd had surrounded the pair singing their praises and continuously thanking them over and over again. Aqua shamelessly took it in knowing full well she didn't do anything to help, while Izuku just watched with a deadpanned expression. "Lord Izuku." A voice said beside him and turning he saw Luna standing her hands clasped in front of her, her eyes filled with gratitude and happiness. "Well Luna." He asked causing her to look up at him questionably only to see him grin.
"What's next?"
Line break.
Getting rid of IIIfang had gotten them a good 375,000 Eris with each each sentinel going for 1,000 Eris bringing it for a grand total of 387,000 with resulting in Izuku and Aqua getting 195,000 Eris each. The amount was ludicrous to Izuku but after taking a look at the board he could see it was actually in a pretty common price range.
It had been 2 weeks since Izuku and Aqua had arrived in this world and the two were quickly becoming rising stars in the town the pair completing many high ranked missions and in record time with the two of them on occasion going on multiple missions a day. This was all part of Izuku's plan, this way he and Aqua could map out the surrounding area and also so he could have more area's he could Air Door to should he need to later.
Right now the pair were on a quest to protect a potion maker while he was gathering supplies and then escort him back to his home Carne Village. "Thank you for doing for me Mr.Izuku, I know this isn't the normal kind of monster hunting I heard you usually do." Their client Nfirea Bareare said. He was a young boy with shot bowl-cut blonde hair that clovers half his face. He was wearing ragged work clothes that he usually works in his potions shop.
Izuku hearing this just waved it off. "It's no problem work is work, besides I've been meaning to see what's out this way." Izuku said Axel being the only town he had entered before taking this job and wanting to see what other towns are possibly like. Hearing this Nfirea simply smiled. "Still I appreciate you doing this for me, though I am sorry there weren't any monsters to for you to kill." He apologized. It was no secret that the job Izuku took most often were kill quest. Though when they found out about Right of Conquest they immediately put the pieces together.
Izuku just looked at the boy with a dry look. "You do realize that's a good thing right?" He asked his tone just as dry as his look as the boy just laughed and begun walking back with Izuku just shaking his head before turning his head to the field. "Let's go." He said simply before he began to walk hearing a groan as he did so. "Finally." Aqua said as he got up from where she was laying. "Why'd we even do this mission anyway?" The goddess demanded wanting to know why they did such a boring quest with an incredibly small reward. Izuku just tsk'd as he followed Nfirea. "You already know why." Izuku said not even looking at her as he followed the potions maker back to his village while Aqua followed behind them pouting all the while.
It wasn't long before they had reached the gates of Carne where several of the boys friends were waiting and Nfirea gave the duo the documents that proved they completed the mission. Izuku ignoring the grumbling from Aqua thanked the potion master for his business and turned to leave when a comment from one of Nfirea's friends entered his ears. "I'm surprised there's only two of them, I thought the raising stars of Axel would at least have a few more members."
That comment struck a cord with Izuku and he walked with Aqua in silence as the two of them headed back to the guild. It was by the time that they entered the woods that Aqua noticed Izuku deep in thought. "So what's wrong Izuku? something those villagers say bother you?" She asked with Izuku being silent for a moment turning his head to her.
"kind of." He answered. "It's just the gods are asking us to defeat the devil king, and unite the world right?" At this Aqua nodded. "That would mean we would need a far amount of people, at least the size of a small army to fight with us right?" Again the goddess nodded. "The problem in that though is that I'm not sure I'll be able to lead that army." Izuku revealed.
Say what you want about how ridiculous it sounded especially with the memories of so many people but Izuku had his reasons. For one most of his life he had been fighting one on one and rarely had a partner or team, and if he did they just did their own thing and tried to stay out of each other's way. In fact the closest he had close to leading a group was becoming class representative and even then that was just small things.
The other reasons were the more problematic reasons and they were the lack of information and the portional members themselves. Lack of members was easy enough to fix, being the town of beginnings there just wasn't that much up to date information on much of the world however that can be easily fixed by just traveling and learning.
This leads however to the worst of his potional problems, The people themselves. Izuku had no doubt there was a lot of bad blood out there in the world, in what world wasn't there? And while he didn't have any problems with any of the people here, he knew there was bound to be in fighting when he started to grow his army.
Aqua unaware of these concerns just laughed. "You worry way to much Izuku!" she continued to laugh. "I'm sure you'll be a great leader, besides the Axis order and Eris order already know that you've been blessed by the two major goddesses of this world." Aqua reminded him.
It was a couple of days after coming to this world that Izuku decided to go reveal himself to the church and show him the symbols. Shock and Disbelief ran through the building as priest rushed up and examined the symbols only to jerk back when both symbols glowed with power. Shakily the head priest asked Izuku to step outside and summon a couple of his undead. Izuku nodded and head outside to the back so they wouldn't freak out the normal civilians before summoning a few basic undead. These included basic skeletons, skeletons archers and skeleton warriors. and some zombies.
Slowly and carefully the priest examined each one of them and and asked them to do a simple task. The undead looked at them for several seconds and just before they could repeat themselves the undead turned to Izuku as if for confirmation much to the shock of the priest. As far as anyone knew an undead were mindless monster who shouldn't listen to anyone but their master, and while they didn't do as they were asked here, they clearly understood what the priest wanted them to do and were simply looking towards their master for orders. Like any other summon would. The big thing however is that unlike the undead here who had there souls removed. These didn't seem to have had souls in the first place.
Izuku seeing his undead look at him merely nodded causing the undead to do as the priest asked. After a few more test the priest asked if anyone of them could talk only to look slightly disappointed when all they got were hisses and groans. After they were done he dismissed the undead and set about answering the questions of the priest. Mostly about to see if there were any more undead he could summon only to pale when they learned that these were some of the weakest he could summon.
This was also when he learned why the gods hated the undead and demons, and that's when things got uncomfortable for the priest. Turns out it was just Aqua and Eris who hated them. Aqua because she simply didn't trust them and had a grudge against the undead for what she sees as a mockery of life. As for Eris.
'Oh, gods Eris.' Izuku thought with a groan as he thought back to the story that the priest had told him. Over 200 years ago an entire kingdom by the name Inveria had been turned into undead. It was Unknown at the time that this was planned by something called the Elder dragon Coffin Lord who sought to strengthen itself to challenge the gods by absorbing thousands of souls within the region. the spell was not limited to Inveria however and instead spread out and effected everything within 250 kilometers rendering three nations devoid of life. The event had come to be called the Undead Disaster.
As for Eris's connection well that was rather simple for Inveria was actually founded by Eris and was the headquarters of Eris Order. Hearing the town she founded and loved as well as 3 completely innocent nations were destroyed simply because of her drove Eris into a maddening rage causing her to descend upon Inveria and right into the coffin lords hand. Eris fought with everything she had cleansing hundreds of thousands of undead and even landed a few wounds on the coffin lord before she finally scrumming to her wounds and only could lay there to await her end. However when all seemed lost a woman appeared using the spell Teleportation she appeared right before the coffin lord could strike grabbed the goddess and teleported not only out of the coffin lord's lair but out of Inveria as well where it and the other 3 nations remain undead wastelands to this day.
It was what came next however that truly shocks people to their core as after Eris and the woman teleported away and all the anger died away only anguish and regret remained and built up until she couldn't latched onto the woman and cried her eyes at her complete failure. It was only the painful moans coming from the woman that saved her that stoppered her crying and drove her into a panic and look the woman over for injury only to become shocked when the woman's body started disappearing by what appears to be her tears. This could only mean thing.
'This woman was a undead, a lich if the powerful magic was anything to go by.' Eris thought her body going complete numb as she tried to process that the very thing she hated had saved her from the lich's own kind. That's when the lich spoke and gave her answer. No one knows what the lich said or what happened after that, all that is known is that Eris disappeared for months afterwards and now treats each undead and demon individually.
'Good grief.' Izuku thought in exasperation. 'How complicated can this messed up place get?" getting chuckles from some of the devil fruits. "Oh Izuku, we're just getting started with any luck. Besides I know you're already making plans on taking on that coffin lord." The Batman who Laughed cackled with Izuku not bothering to deny it.
Suddenly the ground started shaking and sounds of screams could be heard. "What the hell is that?!" Aqua screamed already cowering behind Izuku who looked in the direction the noise and shaking was coming from before catching something that was flying towards them at high speeds. Looking down he saw it was what had to be a bandit, severely beaten and bloody but thankfully still alive as his ragged breathing as slowly but surely coming out. However the man was trying to speak as he gripped Izuku's shirt tightly. "M-M-Monster...over there...r-run." He managed before passing out as Izuku gently set him down.
"W-Well you heard him let's just be on our way." Aqua said and was about to start walking back towards Axel when she noticed Izuku heading towards where the bandit had pointed. "Hey, wait a minute what about the quest?" She asked only for Izuku to toss her the requirements needed to prove they had finished the job. Shaking she directed a fear filled glare towards Izuku. "Fine, go off towards what ever's doing this see if I care!" She screamed crossing her arms and turning towards axel in a huff and was about to start walking.
"SQUACK! SQUACK!"
A bird, about have the size of the goddess landed and directed it's beady eyes towards Aqua as it let out another squack. "WAIT FOR ME!" Aqua shouted at the top of her longs as she chased after Izuku while the bird just tilted it's head in confusion as it watched the loud creature run off.
Meanwhile Izuku knew he was getting closer and closer to the source ,as the shaking and screaming got louder and was now accompanied by what could only be laughter, and as he continued to get closer more and more downed bodies started to appear, as they started to pile up until he had arrived at what looks like a recently made clearing where a young man's voice could be heard.
"You know for a group that calls themselves The Death Bringers you guys sure do suck at killing!" He insulted as Izuku saw who had just spoken.
Around him were about 20 more bandits these looking far worse than any of the others who he had passed on the way here while holding two groaning ones in his hand. This was the scene that Aqua walked up to and upon seeing it promptly screamed. "So he's the little monster behind all this!" She shrieked while Izuku covered his ears in annoyance from her yelling right next to his ear. The boy must have heard this too as he promptly dropped the bandits and picked up a rock. "You know it's not polite to spy on people." He began to toss the rock up in his hand. "So why don't you both." He continued as he got into a pitching stance. "Get loss!" He finished laughing as he tossed the rock, a shock wave being produced form the sheer might of the throw as it sailed towards the pair near blinding speeds.
Aqua screamed at the top of her lungs and quickly dived behind Izuku, perfectly content to use him as a shield so long as she lived while Izuku simply channeled 20% Of One for All into his hand.
BOOOOOOMMM
The second the rock meet the hand a great shockwave ripped through the area, tearing up the earth, up rooting trees and sending the bodies of the bandits flying in all directions as well Aqua who wailed loudly for help as she was blasted away. When the dust settled down it was just the two of them left in the clearing with the boy growing a smirk on his face as he brought his hand to his chin in thought.
"Not bad, not bad." He praised as he looked around. "Not much can stand against that with as little effort as you did." He continued before pointing to himself. "Name's Izayoi Sakamaki, the worst person you'll ever meet in your life." He introduced himself, apparently quite proud before gesturing to Izuku. "And you are?" He asked with Izuku not even blinking at the introduction. "Izuku Midoriya." He introduced himself with the boy nodding. "Well then Izuku since everyone is gone and I'm still in a mood for a fight." Izayoi said getting into a crouching position. "Why don't we go at it?!" The blond shouted a manic grin on his face as he launched himself forward, cracking the ground as he did so with his fist reeled back.
Izuku watched calmly as the smaller boy rapidly approached before calmly side stepping him and launching him further into the forest with a punch. "Is it safe to come out?" Aqua asked poking her head out from behind a tree only to shriek when it along with several others were uprooted as Izayo came rushing forward, ready to launch another punch which Izuku meet with one of his own which had been powered up by One For All. The impact created another shockwave which created a crater around the two, but more importantly forced Izayoi to slide back ever so slightly.
It was all Izuku needed.
Using his larger size Izuku managed to kick Izayoi square in the stomach causing him to sputter as he was launched slightly in the air. Izuku was on him in an instant punching him square in the face twice before grabbing him by the ankle and slammed him repeatedly into the ground before launching one last push into the man's stomach sending him flying once again.
However this wasn't an orderly punch, this had been combined with a new skill Izuku learned, Five Fold. A skill that when activated will hit the enemy with the force of 5 times the original's attack. Which is why Izayoi felt 5 of the same punches that just connected with him as he barred through several trees before finally landing with a thud. "Getting up with a groan Izayoi rubbed his head with a wince. "Damn those muscles aren't just for show." He mumbled getting up only to find Izuku standing in front of him. "Of great he has super speed too." he muttered sarcasm dripping from his tone, though he did blink when he saw the taller boy's hand reached out to him.
"So you done yet or do I have to throw you through a few more trees?" Izuku asked his tone bored like either option was just as tempting as the other. Izayoi just narrowed his eyes for a few seconds as he weighed his options before finally letting out a defeated sigh and took his hand with an anointed grin.
"Nah I'm good." The blond said as he was hauled to his feet by Izuku before he dusted himself off. "Though I gotta say big green you do know how to throw you a punch." Izayoi said looking up at Izuku who smirked. "You're not so bad yourself." Izuku admitted causing a smug look to come to the shorter boy's face. "Oh I know." He said. "But now I've got a few questions starting with." At that moment Izayoi's stomach made itself heard as large grumble was heard.
To the boy's credit all he did was let out an semi embarrassed laugh. "You know where a guy can get some food?" He asked with Izuku smirk getting just a bit bigger.
"I know a place."
Line break.
"Wow, wow back it up!" Izayoi spoke up suddenly as the now trio were nearing the edge of Axis. After meeting back up with Aqua and informing her that Izayoi would be traveling back to the guild with them and ignoring her loud protest at traveling with someone she thought as a psycho path Izuku and Izayoi decided to get to know each other better. They were quick to discover that both came from Japan albeit different versions of Japan as Izayoi had made it clear that he was pretty much the only one with powers from his world.
So Izuku went first and told him all about his world. From quirks and the history of heroes and villains. To the start of the battle tower and what it was, which Izayoi seemed very interested in and finally his own history from awakening his quirk, to becoming the world champion and up to the day he was transported to the new world, only leaving out information like One For All and its history.
It was when he had just finished explaining meeting Aqua when Izayoi stopped him. "Look I can buy pretty much everything you told me but if you expect me to believe she." Here he pointed to Aqua who looked torn between throwing a tantrum at not getting her way, and tears at being ignored. "Is a goddess then you must think I'm a real idiot." Izayoi said feeling insulted at being expected to believe such a thing.
Hearing this Aqua glared in their direction more tears threatening to fall as her face got redder and redder. " I am a goddess you psychopath!" She screamed failing her arms for empathesis getting a raised eyebrow from the blond teen who didn't believe it for a second. Izuku's eyes were cold however. "She is a goddess, a failure of one though." He told his new friend, his tone cold and chipped. "Under her watch 372 planets have fallen and died." He told him with Izaoyoi nodding, now that he could believe.
"Hey! Those weren't my fault!" She screamed denying any possible blame that could fall on her. "It's not my fault they were hopeless and couldn't save their useless asses!" She screamed getting another glare from Izuku and Izayoi. "AND STOP GLARING AT ME, I'M A GODDESS WE DON'T GET GLARED AT!" She demanded as she continued to cry with the two not letting up in the slightest causing her to stomp her foot, stop walking and fold her arms. "STOP GLARING AT ME RIGHT NOW! IF YOU DON'T THEN I'M LEAVING THIS PARTY!" She threatened, sure that her threat would get them to back down.
"Then leave."
Those cold words knocked out what ever anger Aqua had as she looked at Izuku with wide disbelieving eyes, as his were narrowed, cold and uncaring. "If you want to leave then leave, I won't stop you." He said turning around and continued to walk with them by now reaching the gates of the town. "It's not like I wanted you here in the first place, and besides I'm pretty sure I can mange on my own for the time being." Izuku informed the goddess who was starting to look pale at the thought of being left alone as she started sweating bullets.
"Hey now big guy no need to go that far." Izayoi said seeming to by some miracle come to her defense. "Who said you'd be one your own, I don't think there's anyone more interesting here then you and with that past of yours, you're bound to have some awesome adventures." Izayoi grinned. "No way I'm missing out on that." He told Izuku who nodded as the two past by the gate and officially into Axis with Aqua after being frozen by the "betrayal" ran frantically to catch to them.
"So you want to become an adventure?" Izuku asked with the shorter boy nodding. "Fine we were heading to the guild anyway to eat and get paid for the job we were on. We'll get you registered while we're there. I'll spot you the fee." Izuku told him getting a nod of thanks from the shorter boy.
Soon the trio had entered the guild hall were Izuku and Aqua received greetings from the friends they had made before making their way to Luna who upon seeing them smiled in getting. "Izuku Aqua welcome back. Did everything go well?" She asked with Izuku nodded and handed her the documents for Luna to examine who after doing so, nodded and handed Izuku the money who then gave Aqua her share, which she instantly used to go spend on the best alcohol she could find.
"Oh and who's this?" Luna asked having just noticed Izayoi who was looking at Luna with a mischievous smirk which after years of experience didn't bother Luna in the least. "Name's Izayoi Sakamaki, worst person you'll ever meet and I would like to apply." He introduced himself with Izuku taking out the registration fee, before handing it to Luna who then got out the same machine she did for Izuku.
After explaining how it work Izayoi took the test and everyone watched in anticipation at what this rookie could do. "Now then let's see here." Luna said looking over his stats her eyes widening at seeing them. "Oh my, all your physical stats, your intelligence and luck are way above average." She said with the guild starting to whisper to each other. "With these there are quite a lot of advance classes that are open to you, tell me how do you like to approach things?" Luna asked Izayoi wanting to help the boy pick out a good class.
Izayoi just smirked and punched his fist into his palm. "Short and Simple, if I can punch it then I'm happy." He told the attendant showing he was a brawler at heart while Luna thought it over. "Well in that case I recommend becoming a berserker. It's all about getting up close and exchanging blows with enemies with skills that complaint it. I would warn you about the dangers of raging but with your intelligence being what it is you shouldn't have to worry about it." Luna finished her explanation looking up at Izayoi who had a mad grin on his face.
"I'll take it."
With that Luna made it official before announcing to the guild of Izayoi officially joining and his class which got about cheers from the other adventures. Soon the celebrating died down and Izuku and Izayoi had found themselves at their own table with food and ale covering it. Currently Izuku was biting into some fried frog as Izayoi looked over the skills that he could learn before letting out a whistle. "Oh yeah I made the right choice." He muttered as he chose his first 2 skills.
Powered by Blood, a passive skill that increases the users physical abilities based on the amount of blood covering them that isn't their own.
Pierce, all blunt attacks now deal piercing damage as well.
"Hey Izayoi." Izuku called getting the smaller boys attention. "What were you doing before you arrived here? I mean what was your life like?" He asked with Izayoi's eyes widening for the briefest of moments before he smirked and shrugged. "Pretty boring if I'm being honest. I warn born, got these powers. Then some shit happened." At the end a frown came to his face briefly as the boy looked away before looking back with the smirk coming back full force. "Then a letter fell from the sky and next thing I knew I was bashing those bandits heads in." He finished with a cheerful grin.
Accepting the answer and moving on Izuku spoke. "Well in any case, you'll make a good addition to the party, though we should probably try and find someone with long range capabilities next." He spoke adopting a thinking pose before rolling his eyes as Izayoi mocked gasped. "What, am I not good enough for you?" He asked with the fakest, hurt voice Izuku has ever heard, even going as far to wipe a fake tear from his eye.
The two never noticed the new comer approaching their table until she started speaking.
"Settle your fear my fellow adventures, for your long search of one that attacks from afar has ended. For I Megumin, greatest crimson demon there is and master of Explosion has decided that I will join your party! You may now show your appreciation!" The now named Megumin spoke as she introduced herself as the two boys just stared at her.
Seeing this Megumin smirked as she struck a pose. "Ah yes, no doubt you're speechless about the great arch wizard in front of you!" She continued on before noticing they were staring at one thing specially causing her to sigh. "It's the eye isn't it?" She asked with the two nodding as she let out another sigh. 'It's not like I can blame them though.' She thought as she moved her hand over her left that had 3 deep going through it. 'Like Shanks.' Izuku noted briefly before managing to tear his eyes away from it and finally respond to her.
"Megumin right?" He asked with the girl nodding, hiding her happiness that someone for once didn't make fun of her name. "Indeed I am Megumin, daughter of YuiYui and Hyoizaburoo, arch wizard and the greatest crimson demon there is. I have heard of your exploits and and plan to defeat the devil king! A quest like that is perfect for one such as I!" She continued on with the two boys sharing a glance and the same thought passed their mind.
'Chuunibyo'
Seeing that she had their full attention a smug grin appeared on Megumin's face. "So what so you? Will you allow me to join you on your que-ack!" Megumin wasn't able to finish her question as she collapsed to the ground with a thud. Izuku was by her side in an instant checking her over for anything wrong, all his worry died when he heard a growl coming from the girl as well as a groan as she looked up weakly. "Sorry but I haven't eaten in three days so if you can spare some food I'd really appreciate it."
Izayoi couldn't help himself and burst out laughing with Izuku looking at him dryly. 'He really is the worst.' He thought before helping the girl to the table after waving off all concerned on lookers before placing her at the table and putting some of the lighter options they had ordered on a plate in front of her.
The girl looked at them in happiness, gave a quick thank you before digging in like a woman possessed. After a few minutes Megumin finally stoped and leaned back with a relived sigh. "Thanks for that." She told them again with Izuku nodding. "No problem, now you said you wanted to join the party. Now I'm not against that, but if you're going to join." He started. "We need to make sure you're not going to be dead wait." Izayoi finished for him while Megumin having regained her strength laughed as she put a foot on the table.
"So you wish for proof of my power? Very well see for yourselves proof of my greatness!" She challenged as she handed them her adventure's card.
'She wasn't kidding when she said she was great.' Izuku thought as he first looked at her stats first. Her wisdom, intelligence and mana reserves were all way above average. The second was that a particular spell, Explosion was completely masked out, to the point were she wasn't able to put anymore points into it.
What really caught their eyes were the dozens of other spells that she had learned from basic to advance. "Oh don't get so worked up." Fury spoke up dismissively. "You're able to do more magic then this little girl will ever be thanks to a number of us, most prominently me." She reminded him and he was able to feel dozens of spirts roll their eyes at the arrogant woman.
Cutting the connection Izuku returned his attention back to Megumin as he handed her back her card. "So Megumin." Her said getting her attention which was previously on her meal. "Tell us more about yourself, where are you from, your goals, that kind of thing. You are qualified to join, but if we're going to be working together I'd like to know who I'm working with." Izuku requested with Izayoi making himself comfortable to watch what was certain to be another hilarious performance.
Which was proven right when Megumin threw her head back and gave a mighty laugh. "HAHAHA so you wish to know about who is certain to be your mightiest alley? Very well then I shall explain my origins!" She explained before striking another pose her eyes seemingly glowing. "I was born in the crimson demon village where the my entire clan resides!. I was raised along side by my younger sister Komekko and from a young age was determined to learn and master the glorious Explosion magic, the greatest magic there is!"Megumin declared with both boys nodding
"Which you obviously did." Izayoi with Megumin nodding a proud smirk on her face. "Indeed, it is a right of passage for every crimson demon to learn an advance magic, by the time they are 13, and I did it at the age of 6!" She declared surprising the two boys at her accomplishment. "And once I unleashed it for the first time I knew it would be the only spell I ever used so I spent the next 3 years putting every skill point into Explosion to make sure it was unbeatable !" She continued on with her tale before suddenly her mood shifted and all that confidence disappeared and was replaced with sadness and regret. "And that thinking is what caused the biggest mistake of my life." She continued solomly briefly feeling her scars with her hand before clenching it into a fist.
Seeing her like this caused Izuku to push forward. "And that's what caused you to learn so many different spells?" He asked with Megumin nodding, Happy that they let it go and moved on. "Indeed, and with such an arsenal at my command you would be foolish to deny me!" She proclaimed. Izuku shot a quick glance to Izayoi who only smirked and shrugged before the two turned back to Megumin. "Alright, we'll give you a trail run." Izuku decided with the girl letting out a happy cheer.
"Yes! You won't regret this!" She promised with Izuku nodding. "Now then, go find a quest on the board so we can see what how will you preform," Izuku instructed with Megumin about to do just that when they were interrupted by Luna. "Uhm excuse me you were just about to go look for another quest right?" She asked a little hesitantly. When she saw Izuku nod she continued. "Well then would you mind with dealing with a small problem we've been having." She requested as the trio looked at her curious.
"See it's time for the giant toad mating season, so famers, their families and all their animals have moved inland to avoid the danger. This usually worked in the past with the toads moving on to find food elsewhere." Luna explained to the 3, knowing they wouldn't know such information. "However this year is different, first there being far more toads than normal. Reports state there's around 20 of them where in previous years its only been around 8 to 10," Luna continued on with some of the adventures flinch no doubt recalling less than pleasant memories.
"The second is the more concerting fact, that the toads seem to be more coordinated as if something is leading them." Luna told them before placing a quest form on the table.
Eliminate 20 giant toads in 1 week.
5,000 Eris for each toad killed.
"5,000 Eris per toad, all together that's 100,000 Eris!" Megumin shouted, Eris symbols in her eyes, coming from a poor family, having that much money come to her so quickly was to great to pass up. "Giant toads huh, not that coolest monster but you gotta start somewhere." He grinned nonchalantly but everyone could see the bloodlust in his eyes. Seeing the two in agreement settled it for Izuku
"Alright Luna." Izuku said standing up from the table along with Izayoi and Megumin as Luna looked at them with hope and relief in her eyes.
"We'll take the job."
Line break.
"Well, Luna wasn't kidding when she said there were a lot of them." Megumin noted as the trio had arrived at where the giant toads were located. Like Luna told them, there were 20 toads in all, and luckily none had noticed them yet. "Hey Izuku." Megumin said turning to her new party leader. "Are you sure we shouldn't have grabbed that arch priest that's in your party? Her buffs and blessings could have helped us here." The explosion obsessed girl questioned with Izuku immediately shaking his head no.
"It would have been a waste of time, she's probably already drunk or passed out back at the inn by now." He answered, his patience with the goddess getting thinner and thinner. She never helped on their monster hunting jobs, granted he didn't need it, and always complained the pay was to light when ever they did a more simple job.
"Besides they only thing these toads have are their size, should be easy for you two to show what you can do." He commented with Izayoi looking at him with a raised eyebrow. "What I didn't prove myself in the woods?" He challenged with Izuku not even blinking. "Different enemies, need different matters of attack. I just want to see how well you two handle it. There's twenty toads there so that's ten each. Naturally the pay for these quest will go to you two for doing all the work." Izuku promised with the two grinning at the last bit.
"Well, then." Izayoi spoke cracking his knuckles. "What are we waiting for?!" He asked shooting himself forward, his fist reeled back ready to smash the toad into paste. Only for nothing to happen on the moment of impact. Izayoi to his credit was only surprised for a second before tsking and jumping back at a safe distance as the toads now aware of him attempted to surround him. 'So what Luna said was true. the toads have Shock Nullification.' Izayoi thought recalling what Luna told them about the toads.
"Alright then.' He thought with a grin. 'Let's try this.' His arms and legs began to shine with a yellow glow. This was Pierce activated and Suddenly Izayoi disappeared and a second later the toad's head he stuck erupted into a wave of blood. "Well now." Izayoi spoke reappearing blood covering his upper body with blood and as and red aura covered his body signaling Powered by Blood has been activated. "Let's get this party started!" Before rushing forward towards the toads who were paralyzed in fear and were unable to even move before each exploded in a wave blood as a red mist soon lifted into the air.
Back with Izuku and Megmin "Well Izayoi's enjoying himself." Izuku muttered as both stared at the scene with deadpan looks on their face before looking down at Megumin. "Your turn." He told her as she grinned in response. "Very well then, let me show you the power of the greatest crimson demon alive!" She proclaimed. before pointing her staff towards the other group of ten toads.
"Despair of forsaken ones for your time is at its end" She declared before raising her staff "Multiplier times 5 Lighting Bolt!" She shouted as a blue magic circe appeared at the end of her staff as 5 lighting bolts shot out of it with 3 frogs of 5 targeted toads being fried instantly as the other two managed to jump of the way. Megumin simply grinned and with a quick shout of "Teleport!" was instantly above the remaining 7 wither her staff pointed right at them "Enhancer times 5 Fireball!" This time a red circle appeared and out of it a giant fireball emerged and completely engulfed the remaining toads leaving nothing but crisp and chard bodies.
With a satisfied smirk and another quick use of Teleport Megumin was out of the air and back with Izuku and Izayoi who had joined back up with him at this point. "Nicely done firecracker." Izayoi praised with Megumin holding her head high, a proud smile on her face. "What else should one expect from one such as I? Especially since after Explosion, Lighting Bolt and Fireball are my best spells." She told them
"That's the thing though, with the way you talked about it I was expecting you to unleash one on the toads." Izuku told the young mage with Izayoi nodding curious and wanting to see the spell himself while the girl just scoffing. "Please I at full power I only have 3 Explosions a day, which would be only 2 now that Ive used a couple of high ranking spells. And I'm not going to waste one of them on toads." She told them, not wanting to go in to her embarrassing past of going around saying that if she didn't unleash an explosion a day she would explode.
Honestly when one of the older girls finally told her what she was saying and how she was saying it, her blush didn't disappear for a month.
"Well in anywise you both did well. Once we get back to town and the guild confirms the guest had been complete you'll both get 50,000 Eris." Izuku told them fully intending to keep his promise of letting them have the reward causing them to cheer and high-five.
And that's when the ground started to shake.
"What's going on?!' Megumin shouted trying to keep her balance. Before he could answer Izuku's Haki flared to life causing his eyes to widen. "Jump Izayoi!" Izuku ordered before grabbing Megumin and launching into the air with Sky Walk with Izayoi right behind him.
Megumin and Izayoi didn't have the chance to question Izuku or rather they didn't need to as seconds after they jumped the ground split apart where they had been standing before a giant bolder was launched by an unseen force straight at the trio though Izuku quickly got rid of it with a a Tempest Kick. After getting rid of the rock Izuku tried to find what had attacked them but Megumin beat him to it. "It's a Tetsucabra!: She shouted pointing and after following the direction he saw what was attacking them.
"Man that is one ugly toad." Izayoi muttered before grinning. "And it looks like he's not alone." And he was right as ten more giant toads emerged from the hole that the Tetsucabra emerged from. "Well at least we know what's calling the shots here." Izayoi again muttered before turning. "So what's the plan boss?" He asked only to find Izuku calmly walking towards the monsters. "Eh boss?" He called out only for Izuku to raise his hand. "You two've done your share. It's time for me to do mine." He told the two as he calmly approached the toads as his hand began to glow crimson before he swiped his hand and declared. "Kazikli Bey."
Everything was still for a single moment and a toad was able to let out a single crock before the monsters were implied by a swarm of spears skewering and killing the toads. This was a noble phantasm given to him by the power of the Servant-Servant Fruit: Model Lancer. An awakened fruit he acquired along with the other servant class devil fruits from the original six classes such as Assassin and Berserker to the more obscure ones like Avenger and Alter Ego, and it did its job as it helped eliminate the toads in one shot.
All but one.
The Tetsucabra roared as it leapt into the air, its fangs bared right to kill Izuku who merely pulled his fist back. And it was right the toad began to descend that punched forward launching a massive Fire Fist that slammed into the Tetsucabra, burning the monster in an instant causing it to land with a thud, dead before it even hit the ground.
"Well, let's see 30 giant toads with 5000 Eris per toad that's 150,000 Eris, plus what ever the Tetsucabra is worth." Megumin muttered scratching her chin with a grin. "Well my new comrades let us turn in these bodies and claim our just rewards!" She prosed with Izayoi nodded in agreement wanting to get paid.
Izuku nodded as well. "And we will, I just gotta do one thing first." He told them getting raised eyebrows from the pair as he turned to the 31 dead bodies and spoke a single word.
"Arise."
The raised eyebrows soon became looks of disbelief as before their very eyes 31 shadow versions of the monsters that just wiped out emerged in front of Izuku there heads bowed as if awaiting orders. This was the power of the Human-Human Fruit model Ashborn. The shadow monarch and the strongest of his necromancer power
"I-Izuku w-what is this?!" Megumin asked trying hard not to freak out at what she just saw as Izayoi walked over to one and tried poking it in the eye, the body become shadows causing him to grin which got wider when he could see the annoyed look in the shadows eyes.
"This is the power of the Shadow Soldier. As long as there Is a body I can turn it into a shadow soldier, no matter what it is." Izuku explained with Megumin nodded. "And does the resident arch priest no about this?" He asked with Izuku shaking his head no. "Ive turned every monster Ive killed into a shadow but she wouldn't know since she always hid out of sight until I told her it was safe." He explained before facing the toads. "Alright let's get these back to town." He instructed, basting the spikes used to impale the toads before using the power of the logia Wood-Wood Fruit to hoist the bodies into carts before hooking the shadow toads up to them to be pulled.
"Making them pull their own dead bodies? Shame on you" Izayoi mock scolded, going so far to shake his head with a tsk." With Izuku merely raising an amused eyebrow "So I take it you don't want to rise one?" He asked jumping onto the back of the Tetsucabra. Megumin gasped for a second before running full speed and leaping onto one of the toads head. "Let's go!" She cheered as Izayoi landed on the back of the one who's eyes he had been poking at earlier.
Looking down he addressed his mount. "Well you heard her Kermit, let's go." He ordered while Izayoi burst out laughing at hearing the name of the toad. "What?" Izuku asked as the toads were now traveling at full speed towards Axel. "If he's going to lead the toads he's going to need a name." Izuku deafened himself.
As this was going on Megumin was giggling like mad. "Wait until everyone see's this' She though giddy beyond belief at wants to come.
'They wont be able to keep their eyes off us!'
Line break
Megumin was proven right as from the moment they arrived at the gate a large crowd gathered to see the new development. It started when the guards started freaking out about a new huge hoard of a new type of giant toads being lead by a Tetsucabra quickly approaching with many adventurers rushing to the gate to see what they could do. The guild was about to issue a warning to the town before it was reported that Izuku Midoriya and his two new party members were on the back of the toads as well as the toads carrying just as many in carts on their back.
Which is what lead us here as civilian and adventurer alike surrounded them. Some like the children were staring at the toads in wonder and would have gotten closer if not for being help back by concerned mothers. The adventures meanwhile helped unload the bodies and take them to be processed with members of the guild going to make sure they didn't try and take credit for this.
"Excuse me, Lord Izuku?" A elder voice called out to him causing Izuku to look and see the same priest that examined his skeletons from before. Seeing that he had the young man's attention he continued on. "Judging from what we saw earlier I take it these beings are another kind of indeed version of those giant toads from earlier." with Izuku nodding. "They are sir, in fact what you see is the strongest form of necromancy I have." He told them before explaining what he had explained to Megumin and Izayoi earlier.
When he was finished the priest nodded, seemingly satisfied though he became much more relaxed when Izuku said he'd come by and show him all the shadows he has acquired so far for testing later. Izuku was just about to dismiss the shadows and head towards the guild with Megumin and Izayoi when the shouting began.
"THERE YOU ARE!" Aqua appeared out from the crowd, drunken blush on her face and a large bottle of wine in her head. "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, GOING ON A QUEST WHITH OUT ME?! HUH ESPECIALLY WITH THAT DELINQUENT AND THAT LITTLE RUNT!" Here she took another swig and missed the twitch on Megumin's eyebrow. AND WHAT'S WITH THAT YOU RAISING THE DEAD AND KEEPING IT FROM ME, A GODDESS?! AND WHY TOADS OF ALL THINGS! THOSE SLIMLY, GROSS THINGS ARE COMPLETELY AND ABSOLUTELY USELE-ACK!" Aqua was cut off from her drunken ravings when Kermit's tongue shot out from its mouth and gave aqua a slow, wet and slimly lick covering her in slime before pulling its tongue back into its mouth, looking all to pleased with itself.
Aqua meanwhile just stood there, stood. Frozen in shock, barley noticing the mixed looks of pity, worry and those few who tried to hide their snickers. Then there were the crocking coming from the toads which couldn't be mistaken for anything other than laughter. "Ah, Lady Aqua?" Luna approached slowly before placing a hand on her shoulder while ignoring the slime. That snapped Aqua back into reality. "WAAAHHHHHAAA!" Bursting into tears she made an immediate B-line to the bath houses leaving behind a subdue and quite crowd unsure of what to do next. Which is why everyone was shocked by what came next.
"HOW MERCILESSLY CRUEL!"
It wasn't the shout itself that startled people but the way it came out, where instead of outrage and disgust. It came in happiness, excitement and jealously if Izuku was hearing right. The source soon made itself known as someone pushed themselves through the crowd. "Treating your own party member like that without any hint of hesitation by using a minion of all things how truly awful!" Again the voice which by this point Izuku could identify as a woman came out sounding more excited if anything as she was just about to reach the front of the crowd. "Please let me join your party!" She requested sousing more like pleading as she finally made it to the front letting the trio see her.
Izuku who had recalled his shadows, Megumin and Izayoi stared at woman in front of them who was squirming under their gaze and Izuku was about to respond to her when another voice called out, this one also female but filled with discipline. "Darkness! What we talked about, letting your urges getting the better of you?!" The woman called out not needing to shove her way through as it seemed the crowd was parting for her. With a blush Darkness turned to face the new comer. "I know and I apologize, but you saw what I saw!" She shouted as the woman kept getting closer and closer. "How can I not be excited Erza?!" She asked as Erza finally made her way to them as well.
"Erza merely sighed and rubbed her head. "What am I going to do with you?" She asked more to herself before turning towards the trio. "I apologize about my friend here." She spoke before extending her hand. "I'm Erza Scarlet, it's nice to meet you."
To Be Continued.
And here it is, the second long over due chapter of Hero from Another land. I can't tell you how many times I had to rewrite this chapter. And what I've had to change.
Anyway a lot happened, Izuku meet Izayoi a mad berserker and Megumin still obsessed with explosion but because of something in her past, which will be touched on when we get to the movie she became the true prodigy she was destined to. They went on a quest, proved they could carry their wait before coming back to axel to run into Aqua who managed to piss of a newly risen Kermit before meeting up with Darkness and Erza who's being there will be explained in the next chapter.
I think that's about it. Hope you enjoyed
until next time
Bye.
