-= PROLOGUE =-
hellloooooooo everybody! Welcome to the book!
This book will only go on until the prophecy is completed, as I do not have to time or patience or brain power to make this go on forever.
Some of you that wanted to be apprentices are kits for the first two or three chapters, same for those who wanted warriors. People who wanted warriors are apprentices that are older than the other apprentices. (*cough* Pine *cough*)
So let's begin!!!
Every cat knows there used to be five clans in the forest. But few know of the sixth Clan that was forced out long before any of the five clans came to be. That Clan regrouped and took shelter beside the other five as HermitClan, full of many different cats.
Their territory was invaded by SkyClan and ThunderClan, and they fled from the forest they used to call home, settling into a new camp far, far away... past tons of mountains, valleys and rivers, and around lakes.
This story takes place when HermitClan was driven out for the second time, many moons later, by the same five Clans...
"Mouse-brains!" Hermitstar spat at the cats attacking their Clan. They leapt onto a huge, orange tabby and raked their claws down his sides. The tabby fled in terror and pain, yowling.
Everywhere, HermitClan cats fought with rouges, loners, five different clans and even a few kittypets.
"HERMITCLAN! RETREAT!" Hermitstar yowled. They scooped up an apprentice and raced away from the battle. All around them, cats started backing away and running with their leader. Queens took their kits, elders and warriors helped bring injured cats, and the medicine cats, Eagleshine and Nightpaw, struggled to stay away from the many claws and teeth aimed at them.
"Eagleshine! No!" Nightpaw shrieked as Eagleshine was brought down under a pile of cats. Freckleface, Nightpaw's mother, grabbed her kit by the scruff and ran.
The clan all retreated together, and eventually the fighting invaders stopped chasing them and yowled to the sky as a mark of victory.
Hermitstar cursed under their breath, it was muffled by the apprentice they were carrying's fur.
The sun was setting by the time the clan had stopped running, resting on a small hill. Hermitstar set down Ripplepaw, who ran towards a small thorn bush and began digging a den under it.
"HermitClan! Gather round!" Hermitstar called, leaping on top of a tree stump. The small clan gathered beneath it.
"We have more travelling to do until we reach a new home," Hermitstar started. There were a few whines and groans of protest.
"And we must have a new deputy, as Ivytail... has passed." Hermitstar spoke slowly and sadly.
"I say these words before StarClan and Ivytail, and let them approve of my choice..." They paused for a moment, staring up at the first few stars of Silverpelt appearing.
"Redeye will be the new deputy for HermitClan."
A couple of moons had passed since Redeye had been made deputy. He was a good choice, a strong warrior with a gentle personality to his clan, but he was always ready to fight to the death for his clan.
Nightpool sighed, looking up at the half-moon. She sat with her tail curled around her paws. Every half-moon she came out to this tall rock, to be closer to the stars and the sky.
With a bit of hesitation, she lay down with her paws tucked in, and closed her eyes.
Fire swirled all around Nightpool. The fire was an eerie shade of light blue, and it flickered in the night. Caterwauls of agony and pain erupted from the flames, in or behind it, Nightpool couldn't tell.
"There are three fires, but the one that burns blue will tear apart the Clan."
Nightpool sat up, gasping for air. She heaved in breaths of crisp night air, heart racing.
This blue flame... it was dangerous.
Why did StarClan always have to be so vauge?
