"You excited for this beach day?"

"Of course dude!" Ren, Impulse, and Grian were settled on beach blankets on the Sandy shore, as was a lot of other high schoolers. Since it was a nice sunny summer day, a lot of teens were out and about and they'd decided to join the fun.

Grian let out a dramatic sigh. "When is Iskall coming? It's been an hour alreadyyy!"

" Ah, be patient Grian, " Impulse said, then looked behind Ren. "Hey look Doc's here."

" wHAT-" He tried to turn around as subtly as possible as saw Doc spreading out a towel and chatting with Scar and Cub.

"Man, I know you like him, but you don't have to blush THAT hard!" This just made him even more red and he buried his face in his hands.

"You would be just like this if Mumbo was there, Grian!" Then it was Grian's  turn to be bright red. 

" Tha-no-wha- THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS-" 

"Suuuuuure."

Ren stopped their argument by interrupting quickly, saying he was going to go into the water. He tugged his shirt off and made his way to the waves. Impulse and Grian followed suit, doing the same and going after him. 

"Hey Doc's staring~"

"Would you two cut it out?!"

Grian and Impulse weren't lying, Doc was staring at them as they went into the ocean. 

"Oooh someone's got a cruuuush!!" 

"Oh shut up Scar you already know I like him."

Scar simply snickered at the lovesick Doc. 

"Hey you were like this for Cub before you confessed!"

"And you meddled to help us get together so I have to do it to you!"

Doc was seriously regretting his past actions since it was now coming back to bite him. Ah well, it was worth it for the ship...

"Why don't we also go for a swim?" 

"Mmm sure, long as Cub comes." Scar motioned for Cub to come from where he was casually chatting with Cleo and Joe, and the three of them got ready to go, making sure all their stuff was safe and neatly folding their shirts and putting them on top of everything.

They headed out, towards Ren's group, and Scar got a brilliant idea. He murmured it into Cub's ear and he nodded grinning maliciously. As soon as they were fairly close to the other three, Cub and Scar shared a sweet kiss. 

"Eww you two take it somewhere else," Doc exclaimed jokingly. The two cunning teens grinned, knowing he would say that.

"Ok, fine by us!" Cub lifted Scar up bridal style and made their way back to the shore.

"wAIT I DIDN'T MEAN IT LITERALLY-" Now Doc was alone with his crush and his friends. Great..

Meanwhile, Grian and Impulse had seen what Cub and Scar did, and they knew what they were getting at. 

"Ummm Ren, I forgot something with our stuff!"

" I'll go with him-"

Ren was confused as the two ran away giggling like crazy, then understood as he saw who was approaching him. Oh sh-

"Hey Ren!"

" H-hi Doc... " Ren cringed at his stutter, wondering how he could flirt so easily with everyone else, but got so flustered around the tall teen. A wave suddenly came and knocked Ren over, sending him stumbling over his own feet. He would've tumbled into the ocean if Doc hadn't managed catch him by the waist at the last second.

Ren blushed, cursing his clumsiness, then got even more flustered when he realized how close he and Doc were- and Doc had his arms around Ren's waist. He saw Doc leaning in closer and he leaned in too, the two getting closer and closer and-

"REN? I'M FINALLY HERE- oh wait did I interrupt something-" Iskall decided to show up at the perfect moment, just when their lips were about to touch. Doc was so startled that he accidentally dropped Ren into the water. 

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry Ren!" Ren resurfaced, red as a tomato. 

"I-uh, it's o-ok." A very flustered Ren started to swim back towards the shore, Doc watching helplessly as he left. Iskall awkwardly followed him, mouthing a sorry at Doc. He didn't know who he wanted to punch more, Iskall for ruining the moment, or himself for ruining his chances by dropping his crush into the water.

"I feel like a complete jerk now..." Doc sighed and swam to the shore too. Scar and Cub approached him, grinning. 

"How did it gooo?"

" Awful! We nearly kissed but Iskall ruined the moment then I dropped Ren and ugh-" Doc buried his face in his hands as Scar sympathetically patted his back, and Cub frowned sadly.

"I'm sorry Doc, but hey if you almost kissed, then he probably likes you back right?" Scar tried to cheer Doc up but he just wasn't feeling it. He pulled his shirt back on and glanced at Ren, who was flustered and talking to Impulse, Grian, and Iskall. He'd never like me back.

Ren meanwhile, was upset as he knew he just missed his chance to kiss Doc.

 "I'm so so sorry Ren! I swear I didn't know!" Iskall apologized profusely.

 "Its ok Iskall, it was an accident..." 

 "Maybe you should talk to him?  Ask to hangout?" 

 "No. Absolutely not."

 Iskall, Grian, and Impulse looked at each other, then looked towards Cub and Scar and caught the couple's attention. 

 "We'll be right back." They left, leaving Ren to mope. 

They met up with Scar and Cub, who already knew what they were planning from the looks on their faces. "I'm guessing we're literally gonna drag them together?"

"Spot on Scar."

Cub immediately approved. "We're down then!"

The five shippers nodded and split up, grabbing their oblivious friends and dragging them towards each other.

"What're you doing?!" Ren hissed angrily. 

"Its for your own good Ren!"

They dragged them in the sand until they were within two feet of each other, then scampered away. Ren silently cursed the five as he looked into Doc's eyes. 

"Can we go somewhere where they won't bother us? I'm tired of their shenanigans." Ren honestly wanted to just get away from his annoying friends and be alone with Doc.

 Doc looked rather surprised that Ren was actually talking to him, then smiled and nodded. 

"I know the perfect place, come on. " He hesitantly took Ren's hand, and while he blushed, he didn't pull away. They walked off to a small secluded spot, and Doc carefully climbed up and pulled himself up to a tiny ledge, just big enough for two people. He offered his hand to Ren, who took it and climbed next to him. It was very small, but comfortable, with a pretty nice view of the beach.

"Nice, right?"

"Yeah." 

Doc carefully put an arm around Ren to make sure he wouldn't fall, hoping he wouldn't pull away. Instead, Ren leaned onto his shoulder slightly. Doc bit his lip, wondering if it was a good time to try and kiss Ren again. There wasn't any chance of someone of interrupting, it was just a question of whether he had the guts to do it. 

Little did he know, Ren was debating over the same thing, stealing glances whenever the other wasn't looking. He decided might as well try, and if it didn't work out he could crawl under his blankets at home and cry his heart out. He was going to do that either way, either from sadness or regret. He wrapped his arms around Doc's neck, forcing them to face each other. They stared at each other, transfixed.

Doc leaned forward and kissed him gently, and Ren was shell-shocked for a moment, before he remembered to kiss back. They pulled away after a few moments, both looking like actual tomatoes. Doc motioned towards the beach where their friends were waiting.

"Are we going to tell them?"

Ren thought for a moment then grinned evilly. "Nah..."

Doc smirked and pulled him into another kiss, both of them knowing they wouldn't tell their pushy shipping friends for at least a month.
