Grian fidgeted silently yet anxiously where he sat on the floor with his large purple wings surrounding him. He thought this would be like a normal quirk filled school, not like a military style boot camp.
It was just him and a receptionist sitting in dead silence as they waited for the hero Titan to arrive.
Grian had always dreamed of meeting Titan just not like this. Not under a circumstance where top pick students from different quirk school districts were pulled from their normal lives and pushed into a hero carrier.
Honestly, Grian would love to be a hero. But on his own terms. He hadn't even gotten the proper training or schooling to become a hero yet. Or at least he thought. Yet here he was, waiting for Titan to retrieve him so he could start a very different training process.
Grian swallowed uncomfortablely in the dead silence.
The silence was only interrupted when the door opened and the hero Titan, was standing just through the doorframe.
Grian felt himself freeze, feeling himself shrink where he was.
Titan of course stood taller than him. He had resting angry looking eyes and his features appeared to be hardened from all the hero work he's done; with gray hair and a grey beard to vouch for that.
Without as much of a warning, Titan stared down at the winged student. "Xelqua was it?"
Grian held back a frown as he shakily stood up. "I-I- Yes sir. That's me, sir." He preferred not to be called his old name. But Titan was just too threatening to try and correct.
Titan seemingly observed over the student before giving a sharp sigh. "Alright, come and follow me."
Grian made his way to the door.
"And be quick."
Grian felt his heart stop for a moment at the command as Titan took down towards the hall.
The winged student merely followed with a quickened pace to follow Titan's demand.
The older hero didn't waste anytime and started to tell him information.
"You are going to be teamed with one of the largest hero groups we've ever trained together. Your group is special. You, along with all the others have been hand selected by government officials to create a powerful team of heros that will serve as a positive role model for the entire world."
Grian swallowed again. There was a lot of pressure already and he hadn't even met his supposed team.
With hesitation and nervousness, Grian braved himself to speak up. "May I- uh- ask a question, sir?"
Titan gave a tired sounding sigh. "Please, just call me TFC."
"Uh- Um- TFC? Why get students? Why not just put everyone through your old program and-"
TFC ended his question with a firm answer. "Because the old program had fatal flaws in it. There were cheats to get through the system to become an amateur hero. The world needs properly trained quirk users to protect it. And that means the world needs people with quirks that are actually useful."
Grian fell silent again, licking his lips as TFC walked up to a door and opened it.
Turning to Grian, TFC continued. "Go inside. Meet your team. Get to know them. It'll be a fatal mistake if you don't. You get the rest of today until 8pm tonight then I'll come back and retrieve you all to show you to your sleeping quarters. Understood?"
Grian subconsciously straightened, standing taller as his wings tucked against his back. "Aye sir, yes sir."
TFC gestured into the room. "Get going."
With haste, Grian did as he was stood. As he got five feet into the room, Titan shut the door behind him and that left Grian on his own to meet the others.
Grian sort of froze where he was.
The room was filled with a bunch of other people. A little over two dozen people were sitting, chatting and mingling within.
Grian could feel himself become overwhelmed. First all the pressure about how they had to be these perfect role models for the world and now trying to get to know so many different people?
Yeah, overwhelmingly exhausting.
Grian could feel his throat tightening and had it not been for someone running up to him, he probably would have had a panic attack right then and there.
"Hia! You also must be part of our group too!"
Grian looked at who came up to him.
A girl came bouncing up. She had big happy blue colored eyes and her hair was a nice brown that covered her right eye. She had pink and blue colored flowers in her hair to represent a crown.
Grian also had noticed the huge temperature drop when she got nearly four feet from him, causing him to shiver. "Huh?"
The brown haired girl smiled brightly, seemingly not noticing Grian's shiver. "I'm StressMonster101! What's your name?"
Grian stuttered for a second, looking at Stress. "I'm uh- I'm Xelqua. But I prefer to go by Grian."
Stress' eyes somehow brightened even more. "Nice to meet you Grian! I love your wings, purple's my second favorite color!"
Grian chuckled, still with a nervous sounding tone lingering. "Uh, thanks. I'm glad you like them."
"Oi! Its another wingy boi!"
Grian blinked as Stress bounced off again over to another male who was kind of sitting on his own.
Before Grian even knew what happened, another male student had gone up to him.
The student had demon like wings, his hair was a striking yellow-blond and his eyes were an orange-red color. He was also the exact opposite temperature of StressMonster and he was taller.
"Grian, right?" The demon looking student asked.
Grian suspected he must have heard Stress say his name aloud. She wasn't exactly quiet. "Uh yep. That's me."
The blond haired student gave a grin, showing slightly pointed teeth. "I'm Tango. Nice to meet you."
Grian gave another smile. "Nice to meet you too." With another pause, Grian could no longer help himself. "So, what quirk do you have?"
Tango chuckled. "Eager too huh? Don't worry, in a little bit we're all gonna circle up then say our names and our quirk names."
Grian sighed quietly before nodding. "Alright."
Tango laughed. "Don't worry, I've been dying to get to know what everyone's quirk does. I hate trying to guess."
Grian silently agreed as Tango continued to ramble on and drag him towards some other winged students.
Time Skip
"Alright, everyone circle up! Its quirk sharing time!" A student yelled out to the rest of the room.
The room quickly scattered into an oval like shape. Everyone looked excited while some looked nervous.
Grian himself was nervous. A lot of these other people seemed like the type to have very strong and very powerful quirks.
Now that the room had quieted down, a student with two pairs of bee wings spoke up. "Alright! We'll go around the circle. Say your name and your quirk name. I'll start."
"I'm XisumaVoid and my quirk is Command Magic 5."
Heads turned about in affirmation of X's quirk. Some quiet whispers also spread about.
Grian froze when all eyes turned to him next.
"I'm Xelqua, or-or Grian as some of you may know. And my quirk is Jinx Magic."
Some students waved hello or gave approving thumbs up. Which Grian sighed in relief at.
"Howdy, I'm Cubfan and my quirk is Karma Magic."
"Hello I'm Scar and my quirk is Jester Magic."
"I'm Wels, my quirk is Paladin Summoner."
"I'm Joe Hills, I've got Poet's Tongue."
"I'm Keralis, I've also got Command Magic level 2."
The other students gave positive hums or small exasperations of surprise.
"I'm ZombieCleo, my quirk is called Gesture."
"I'm Hypno. I've got Hex Magic."
"I'm TangoTek, my quirks called Plasma!"
"I'm StressMonster! My quirk is called Shattered Ice!"
"That explains the temperature drop I felt when she came near." Grian thought. He could also tell that some of the others came to that very conclusion as well.
"My name's Ethoslab, and my quirk is called Shadow Frost."
"Name's Impulse and my quirk is Radioactivity."
Some of the students had mild looks of panic on their faces. To which, Impulse laughed at. "Don't worry! My Radiation isn't gonna kill anyone!"
The room slightly deflated at that more positive/lighthearted reply.
"I'm FalseSymmetry, my quirk is Copy."
Grian could instantly tell that some of the more serious looking students, were already making some mental guesses on what False's quirk could really do. The sounds of a Copy quirk meant that many of the others had to seriously watch out.
"My name's Zedaph and my quirk is Angelic Spirit."
"I'm xBCrafted and I've got Haste Effect 4."
"My name's Mumbo Jumbo and uh- my quirk is Red Tracer Effect."
"I'm Docm77 and my quirk is Explosive Lightning."
Everyone in the room all stared at Doc, as if asking if he was actually serious.
Doc merely sat with his arms crossed over his chest while a calm and confident; almost cocky looking grin spread across his face.
The next person cleared their throat in order to kill the obvious startle at an explosion type quirk. "Names Biffa, I also have Haste Effect level 1."
"I'm Jevin, my quirk is Transfiguration."
"I'm Rendog and I've got Rage Transfiguration."
Several confused looks appeared on many of the students faces. Ren with a Rage kind of quirk? He seemed too nice to have that kind of quirk.
"Hallo! My names Iskall85 and my quirk is called Dragon Hearted."
"I'm Bdouble0100 and my quirk is called Phantom Fury."
"My name's Python and my quirk is Fire Serpent."
"I'm Vintage and my quirk is called Bullrush."
"And I'm Jessassin and my quirk is Shadow Stealth."
The room filled with a bunch of the others asking questions. Mostly people asking Doc if his quirk actually exploded.
Grian himself was just trying to keep his cool. He wasn't ready, or at least he didn't feel ready. He could practically see himself cracking under all the pressure that this group was going to be put under.
"A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link." Grian thought grimly.
The purple winged student glanced over to a clock.
6:55pm.
This was going to be a huge challenge.

Fin
How'd I do for a chapter like this?
There were so many characters I had to put in- wifneifnaie- totally worth it though.
No regrets-
