Annnnnd were back! But to be honest considering our track record it probably won't be for long-
Anyways I hope you enjoy!
Scar sighed as he sat at his boring, regular job. It was just sitting at a computer and pressing buttons, but Scar enjoyed his job. He never goofed off, he never took short cuts. He was the perfect model employee.
Though when his boss called him up he knew it wasn't good.
"You must be wondering why you're here, Scar?" His boss asked with a sigh, motioning for him to sit. "You're fired."
"What? Why?" Scar asked, eyes wide with confusion. He didn't do anything wrong, did he?
"The truth is, Scar, you're too good. Your individual and well preforming work ethic is discouraging your peers. You continually hand in assignment after assignment and it's raised the bar too high. If you weren't so stuck in your work I'm sure you would've noticed. So as you leave this building today, try to be empathetic and pay a little more attention to their faces."
"But- Mr. Xisuma-"
"No buts Scar. I'm sorry, but I'll have to cut you loose. Please don't forget anything on your way out." Xisuma looked away. He didn't want to do this, but it was for the best. Many people were rushing their work to try to keep up with Scar and that's led to mistakes in paperwork and their has been three people who have passed out from exhaustion from pulling all-nighters.
Scar nodded sadly and walked out of the office, packed up his stuff and went home. He sighed heavily and threw his stuff in his office, sitting on the couch and thinking what he could do.
Maybe he could get another office job? But would they fire him like Mr. Xisuma did? What if he got back at Mr. Xisuma and make him regret firing him?
Later..
Scar slipped outside, sipping coffee and walking around the garden outside the office sadly. It was a beautiful day, the grass was green, the trees swayed gently, the birds chirping songs with the bees buzzing. It sounded like a symphony of nature. It was gorgeous.
"Master Scar?" Scar heard someone behind him. Scar turned to see one of his many butlers behind him. Bdubs was his name. Scar knew every single person who worked for him and often hung out with them.
"Yes?" Scar asked patiently with a kind smile on his face.
"You know you shouldn't be out here alone. Many would die to have the amount of money you have." It was true. Scar was loaded, he had billions of dollars that he could just throw away.
"I just needed some fresh air, I was just fired from my job." Scar huffed crossing his arms.
"You were fired? What for?" Bdubs knew he didnt need the money, infact, Scar was only working because he didn't want to seem like he was flaunting his money.
"I worked too hard, apparently. It stressed the other people out."
Bdubs frowned, letting out a confused chuckle. "Really?" He asked incredulously, to which Scar smiled faintly at.
"Yeah... I do feel bad for everyone that works there. If I could give them some cash, especially the ones that struggle the most, I would. But obviously... too suspicious." Scar mused on ideas, letting them stir in his brain.
"Would you like anything to drink, Master?" Bdubs asked, watching the concentration fill the man's eyes.
"Please, call me Scar, you know that. And no, but thanks for offering," Scar smiled kindly, nodding his butler away.
Time to figure out his plan.
Scar smiled to himself before he went inside. He went inside and started making phone calls.
~
Xisuma was surprised when the resignation papers were set on his desk. He looked up to see Iskall, one of his most diligent workers.
Xisuma looked to Iskall, extreme confusion on his face as the man left. What could make one of his best workers quit so absurdly? And it was right after Scar did, too.
Scar smiled as he watched from the cameras, he'll make Xisuma rue the day he fired him, beg for him and his other workers back.
Over the next few months, Xisuma became more and more confused, but more sure of what was happening. Several of his best employees had left his company (they had shrugged, saying they enjoyed working there but they their eyes on the horizon and craved new things) and there had been a new business open across the street.
Who owned that business? The very man he fired himself; Scar.
Scar paid a high salary to all of his workers and was in the same business as Xisuma's business. He was the CEO of his own startup company with Bdubs being his vice president and a friend named Jevin being his secretary.
Scar's business was already prospering pretty quickly because of all his connections with higher up companies.
Xisuma sat at his desk. He was clearly dishevelled with what has been happening, and was very suspicious of Scar. How did he start up a company and get it booming so quickly?
Should he go to Scar and confront him? That was insane, but his business was dying, so he had no choice. He was already standing at the doors, there was no going back now.
Xisuma entered the store, pushing his hair out of his face and straightening his tie, almost nervously. Why was he nervous? "Is Scar here?" He asked the receptionist, watching as they started at him.
"He's currently in a meeting-" the receptionist started, but Xisuma cut them off.
"It's urgent." Xisuma said, fixing his tie again out of nervousness. The receptionist sighed before sending a call to someone.
"Go on ahead, take the elevator on the left all the way up." they said, pointing X in the direction he needed to go.
"Thanks."
Why was he so nervous? He was just talking to a person he fired that was getting to have a better company than him. He shouldn't be nervous.
Well, maybe. He heard a ding and got off the elevator, following the receptionist's direction. He knocked on the door, seeing Scar was already sitting in his chair. His ex-worker purred a simple, "Hhello. How may I help you, Mr. Xisuma?"
Xisuma fumbled for his words, "What- you- just- how?"
"Well you see I have connections in high places, and I worked my way to here." Scar smiled like a Cheshire cat. He was enjoying this very much. Seeing the man he almost destroyed right in front of him was enough for him to smile.
Xisuma was trying to keep his cool, especially in front of Scar. The usually nice and happy person he knew was gone, it was terrifying to him. He gulped, sitting in the chair opposite of Scar.
He was trying not to stutter when he spoke, trying to cover his scared tone, it was like he was being choked by Scar. "It seems like it would be hard to get here t-through connections, you must have alot.."
Secretly, Scar was freaking out. He kept his large cheshire like smile and listened to Xisuma, former boss and person who used to be oh so confident and powerful, shake with fear. Scar had done his job well. He was now a multi-billionaire, rivaling Xisuma.
"Of course! Didn't you do a proper background check on me? My family has lots of connections." Scar purred, placing his elbows on his desk.
"I-"
"Of course you didn't look too far into me. You just wanted to see if I had a criminal record."
Xisuma was melting in the chair. He had no clue how to respond, Scar had won. Scar had gotten the best of him. He ran a hand through his hair, taking a deep breath. "I'm not s-suppose to look too far into anyones f-file."
Scar stood up and walked behind Xisuma, patting his head gently. "Why, I don't think my blood line counts as too far in, Mr. Xisuma."
It sent shivers down his spine when Scar said his name. It felt like he was getting cursed, it made him more uncomfortable than he's ever been.
"The Good family is highly endorsed Mr. Xisuma. Most people know this." Scar giggled as he sat back.
X didn't know what to say. He was speechless. Scar was from that Good family?!? He really screwed up.
Xisuma opened his mouth to speak, but was cut off by the door opening.
They both looked to the door, seeing Bdubs standing there. He motioned for Scar to come to him and whispered something in his ear. Scar whispered something back and looked to Xisuma, "I should take my leave, now. Thank you for stopping by, Mr. Xisuma!"
Xisuma was left in the office, alone and in fear. It was like Scar had two personalities. He was royally screwed now. What should he do, then?
Xisuma paced the room. He wondered if he should leave, or wait until Scar came back. Leave, or wait, leave, or wait, which one? Xisuma was getting impatient.
He decided to leave.
He ran through the building, looking at the different rooms and offices and people working in them. There was a red haired gentleman in a tux in a private office closed by glass walls, sipping some tea. Down the hall, a more casual looking person in a red sweater was dashing around, printing things and scribbling down ideas on a whiteboard.
Xisuma recognized most of these people. They all used to work for him and he couldn't help but feel his heart break. They all left him so they could work with Scar. It felt like the world was collapsing in on him.
He scurried to the elevator quickly, not wanting to be there for another second. He needed to be home, in a place where he could let his feelings out. He never knew someone who was so in line and nonchalant could be so intimidating and take his place as a strong businessman.
——-
Scar was looking for recruits. Recently, he had a Dream about a super rich tin-can with a squad of mismatch hero's and decided hey, why not and just like that now his vision was this much closer to becoming a reality
Of course, once Xisuma heard about it he wanted in. He could try and get it all from the inside. Scar destroyed him, he could destroy Scar back. Fight fire with fire. The only question is how? Alter ego maybe?
An alterego seemed like a good choice. His disguise was a green helmet with a purple armour and basic armour. He had newly bought weapons, shame he couldn't test out his new toys.
It all happened so fast. He was standing, staring off into the starry sky, until he wasn't. The cityscape blurred together as he fell. The air was ripped from his lungs as the ground grew closer and closer. He didn't bother bracing for impact, his fate had already been sealed. Xisuma wasn't the smartest guy alive but he was stubborn. He never went back on his word, so when he wished Scar would suffer just like he did, Scar never stood a chance.
It was a normal day to Scar, at least until he met his demise. He went around the building like normal. What he didn't know what there was the intruder. He wore a red suit and held a knife in his hand, he was waiting under Scar's desk. Scar eventually went to sit at his desk, when he sat at the chair he was pinned down with a hand over his mouth. "Not a peep, Scar. You'll regret angering Xisuma."
Was it one of Xisuma's followers? Was it family? The figure pulled the knife high in the air, then swung it down onto Scar. Scar let out a muffled scream, trying to pry the other man off him. "You failed."
It stabbed him one last time, over his heart, and Scar didn't live for longer than thirty minutes. When Bdubs went to get him for a meeting, he saw his bosses body and shrieked.
