Day 5: Holiday hater
Tango didn't have anything against Christmas per-say, but he sure as hell didn't like it. With all the bright lights everywhere there was never a dull or quiet moment. And he hated it, because one of the few reasons he actually stayed up late to watch the stars appear in the dark night sky.
But now? Now it was all just bright lights, lights that hid the beauty of the night. Lights that hid his only comfort at times.
So with an irritated sigh he sent a text to Grian.

<Hey G?>
+++Grian+++
<Hi Tango! Need anything?>
+++Tango+++
Yeah... Can you take me to that one little build above the shopping district? Please?>
+++Grian++
Sure, see you in a bit!
The demon sat down in front of Grian's cart, one of the less decorated shops in the district, only having a few fake snowflakes hung up here and there on it. Which he was thankful for, and he silently thanked Grian a million times over for it.
It took Grian awhile to get to him, the small Hermit wrapped in a tight burrito of clothes. He let out a little snicker at the sight, not being able to contain it, "Comfy there, man?"
Grian glared at the demon as he made his way towards him, standing on his tiptoes to better get access to rub his cheek against Tango's. The action even more cat like then when the taller did it since he was an actual cat, "Ha ha, very funny," huffed Grian, words kinda drowned by the scarf he had.
"Sorry, couldn't help it," smiled Tango, "But seriously, what's with the layers? You usually only wear your sweater or a thicker version of it. So what changed?"
"Impy was being overly worried about me getting sick," said Grian with an eye roll, thinking that his boyfriend was overreacting, "He wouldn't let me leave without all of it on"
"Sounds like a classic Imp move," grinned Tango, chest rumbling with a little laugh, "Now, can we head off? I'd really like some me-time as soon as I can"
Grian smiled at him sadly, knowing exactly why the other wanted to get away as soon as he could, "Sure thing, Tang," and with one swift motion he grabbed the blond under his arms and took off, going up and up until he reached an almost invisible platform, "We're here"
"Thank you, G, I appreciate it"
"Anything for my favorite-not-brother-but-still-brother brother!" grinned Grian with bright eyes, violet eyes almost glowing in away. He plopped himself down next to the demons feet, said demon was still standing in the same places as when they'd landed, "Aren't you going to sit down?"
"No," said Tango absentmindedly, red eyes locked onto something down below them. Looking down himself the dirty blond could see a group of people down below, thank you enhanced eyesight!, mingling and talking. Among them where Zedaph, his dark brown knee length coat wrapped tightly around him, and what looked like a steaming cup of hot chocolate in his hands, "He's so, so..."
"Happy? Cold on the outside and warm on the inside? Blond? Outside?" enquired Grian, an eyebrow raised in a questioning manner.
"So breathtaking," breathed Tango, proving his words true in the same sentence as he said it.
Grian smiled at his friend, "You love him," It wasn't a question, just a statement.
A soft smile spread across the blonds face, "Yeah, I do"
A thought suddenly hit Grian, and a wide smile spread across his face, "Wait here! I have to go get something!" and then he was off, flying down to the ground.
Tango looked after him, a bewildered expression on his face, "But I can't go anywhere without your help down?..."
A few moments later the sound of terrified yelling filled his ears, and his eyes narrowed onto the origin of the sound with a slight growl. In front of him came Grian flying back, a panicking Zedaph in his arms, "Grian, where are you taking me?! And why me? I was enjoying my hot coco!"
"Well, Lamb," smirked Grian, a wicked smile on his face. A smile that made both blonds near him shudder. Now, what's so shudder worth about this smile? Well, it was a full teeth smile, and since Grian had very sharp teeth it looked kind of frightening, not to mention that you couldn't tell if it was predatory or playful. So yeah, there was much to fear with this smile, "I have a little present for you!~"
"Whatever it is, I don't want it!" screamed Zedaph, mauve eyes wide as he clung to Grian.
"Oh? So you don't want to get a private date with Tango that just happens to be the perfect moment for you two to get together?" asked the builder with faux innocence, small giggles breaking free.
Both blonds spluttered, much for the same reasons, as the words registered in their minds. And soon heavy blushes coated both of their faces, much to Grian's amusement, "I'll leave you two too it! I'll be back in the morning!" And then he dropped Zedaph on the platform before leaving, probably to get home and lose the layers and cuddle up to his boyfriend.
"Soooo, what now?" asked Tang, feet lightly kicking at the platform.
"Do you like me, Tango?" inquired Zedaph after a few minutes of silence, not looking the other blond in the eyes.
"Of course I do! You're my best friend!" said Tango, eyes wide. Had he made something that made Zed doubt that? Was it because he didn't show up to any of the pre-Christmas parties? Oh god, maybe it was!
"No, I mean do you like me more than a friend?"
It was a short silence before Tango answered, "And what if I did? What would you do then?"
Zedaph chuckled lightly, hair bouncing with the action, "If I'm allowed to, I'd kiss you until Grian returned, and I'd make you my boyfriend if you'd accept it,"
"I'm sure that can be arranged," said Tango softly, sitting down next to the other.
"Which one?"
Tango smiled, taking Zedaph's face and turning it to face him, "Both"
Without any prompting Tango leaned in to kiss the taller blond, Zedaph's soft lips meeting his own in a sweet and tender first kiss. Both parties eyes closed as they got into it more, months of longing finally being quenched. To bad air was a thing you require to breath, so they sadly had to part.
"That," said Tango between breaths, a happy smile printed on his face, "Was amazing"
Zedaph hummed in agreement, forehand resting on Tango's own. He wasn't really paying attention, to distracted by the beauty of a man in front of him. The way the pale moonlight would illuminate him from behind, making him look otherworldly. And the way his smile pulled up to his eyes, scrunching them up so adorably. It was all just so breathtaking, all so unnecessary for him to love Tango but all still appreciated.
"Hey Zeddy, you paying attention?" asked Tango, head tilted to the side slightly to the side as he looked into Zedaph's eyes.
"How do you mean it?" asked Zedaph back, "If I was listening to what you were saying? Then no. But if you mean taking in your beauty? Then yes, I most definitely was paying attention"
Tango blushed an even deeper shade of red now, and he buried his face in Zedaph's chest to try and hide it. But he soon forgot all about it when he got distracted by Zedaph's heartbeat. It was rhythmic and calming, and he could feel the pull of sleep come over him.
So that's why he answers both of the other blonds questions without thought, though he didn't regret his answer for the first question.
"Tango, do you want to be my boyfriend?"
"As long as I get to be yours in turn"
Zed let out a chuckle, "Of course you can be" a few seconds of silence, and then he asked again, "Love, why do you hate Christmas so much?"
"Everyone is so happy on this day, when all I ever got on this day was ten more reasons to run away"
...
"...You didn't mean to tell me that, did you? Tango? Oh, your asleep. Hmm, I'll have to ask you in the morning, I'll have to ask you then"
And then he too followed in his boyfriend's footsteps and also fell asleep, Tango's naturally high body heat keeping him comfortable.
The next day was filled with many hours of talking and comforting on both their parts. But in the end it all turned up, with Zedaph convincing Tango to come to one part, with the promise that they'd leave as soon as Tango was even feeling the tiniest bit uncomfortable.
And it took awhile, but Tango now felt comfortable enough to go to at least a party for a short while. And Zedaph couldn't be prouder.
Many years later a ten year old tanned blond little demon girl gave a small dirty blond man a giant hug, thanking him for getting her daddies together, and for getting pa comfortable enough to come to her party. The male blinked in shock at the girl, wondering how she knew about that, before wrapping her in a fluffy hug telling her that it was all her da's work. But she still insisted on thanking him, claiming that "Not enough people knew how amazing he was!" He was pretty sure he almost kidnapped her after that, but thankfully he stopped himself.
<>Sorry that I'm a bit late with this! But I decided to set everything back a day so yeah, that's what going on now! This was originally going to be angsty, but I wanted to try writing a non Grian ship, and I think it turned out pretty good!
Now I have to head off to bed, have a wonderful time everyone!<>
