Previously...

The hermit in front of him was Vintage and his face had become illuminated by a bright yellow glow that seemingly came from Impulse himself.

The last thing the ZIT member saw was a look of horror from Beef before he screamed out.

Impulse was suddenly plunged into a bright and painful light. Beef's hands left his shoulders and he could hear others yell out after Beef had.

"Holy shit-"

"Whoa! What the hell!?"

"Take cover!"

Tears ran down Impulse's cheeks as he squeezed his eyes shut as tight as he possibly could.

"Guys?" He called out blindly. "What's going on?!" He cried out.

"Someone go get Xisuma!"

And now the conclusion...

"Get down!"

Scar had hardly any time to react to the call out. He didn't even process what was attacking him and his fellow hermits in the first place. All he saw was a yellow beam of light come streaking through the air and strike Vintage.

Right. He was kneeling in front of Vintage, trying to see if he was okay.

The mayor was snapped back into reality when another yellow beam shot inches from his head.

Letting out a cry of startlement, Scar turned his head in the direction of the shot. His two green eyes landed on Impulse who was just illuminated by yellow light, forcing Scar to squint in order to spy the rest of his body.
"Wha- What the heck?!" Scar blurted out.

Ethos, who was already facing Impulse, had his shield out. "That looked so similar to a guardian beam." He replied, sounding perplexed- yet at the same time absolutely baffled and confused.

Scar gave one glance at Ethos before he redirected his attention to Vintage.
Vintage's face was twisted into that of a cringe. His breathing was slightly labored and there was a nasty looking burn mark in the center of his chest that expanded outward.

The mayor trembled. "Oh man, what do I even-"

"Get Vintage out of here Scar, I'll cover you if need be!" Ethos interrupted.

Shooting a panicked look at the Canadian, the green eyed hermit hesitated before doing as instructed.
"Up we go, Beef. Sorry in advance," Scar warned before he steadied himself and took hold of Vintage's closest shoulder.

Vintage hissed in pain at the jostle of his wound, but the two stood up with Vintage leaning heavily against the taller hermit.

Scar struggled with the brown haired hermit for a moment, trying to get the other's arm up and around his neck. "Okay- Okay- we're up. Now let's get out of here,"

As Scar began to guide Vintage away from the danger zone, Ethos remained.

The Canadian had his shield up and was watching the next events with wide eyes.

Hermits that had yet to land were now landing. They were all actively avoiding Impulse's front to prevent from getting blasted.

Doc, False, Iskall, Xisuma- all of them- were beginning to land and advance towards their out of control friend.
"Quick, grab his head and turn it up!" Cub ordered from further back. "The beam seems to damage block integrity as well!"

A handful of hermits dashed up from behind while others remained in their places or airborne.

"Guys? What's going on?" Impulse cried out, He tried to turn his head to try and see any of his peers.

"No!"

A hand grabbed the top of his head and jerked it forward and up at an angle. The sudden movement caused Impulse yelp out in startelement and confusion.

"Hey! What did-"

"Sorry Impulse," A voice said in an apologetic tone. "But you've gotta keep looking forward and up, okay?"

Impulse swallowed roughly. His eyes hurt so bad and he was so confused- scared- would be the proper word.

"Someone knock him out! Quick!"

More tears made their way down Impulse's cheeks. Fighting through more of the burning, he managed to open his eyes one last time before he saw something- or someone- with wings fly down in front of him.

"Peace!"

He could feel a soft and small palm rest against his forehead before a wave of calamity washed over him.
Heavy breathing was all he could hear for a moment, before a voice spoke up again.

"Peace, you're at peace, Impulse."

The pitch of the voice was recognizable. But the unsure tone of it felt wrongly foreign.

Shuddering, Impulse's eyes shut again, with the burning pain now nowhere to be felt. "Ze- Daph?"

Zedaph let out a weak chuckle. "It's okay, Imp. You're safe now. Just go to sleep."

Impulse simply let himself slowly let go of consciousness. Zedaph's suggestion was starting to become more and more of a reality, with the confirmation of being safe greatly assisting it.

Soon Impulse found himself slipping into unconsciousness.

=== Persona ZIT polyship ahead, this is your warning ===

Impulse groaned. "Can I take off the bandana now, Joe?"

"Not yet." The southerner replied. "And their medical bandages."

"Come on, I wanna see the new server already!" Impulse complained, practically pawing at the medical cloth that was wrapped around his head and covering his eyes. "I also wanna meet Gem and Pearl."

Joe let out a scoff. "Oh for the love of- Zed, Tango, will both of you come and occupy Impulse's time with something other than wanting to avoid a full recovery?"

Impulse inflated his cheeks with air before deflating them. With a huff he crossed his arms over his chest like a child. "How dare you pull the partners' cards on me."

Impulse could feel Joe smirk at him- the cheeky bastard- but his focus was pulled away from a retort when he felt a pair of slim arms wrap around his waist and soft feeling wings tickled at his forearms.

"Are you complaining, Imp?" Zedaph questioned coyly.

Another voice laughed. "I think he is, Zedaph."

Impulse sighed in a huff, but allowed himself to relax and rest back a bit against Zedaph. "I am not complaining, Tango. Thank you for asking."

Tango simply laughed at him again before he went and rested a warm hand on the tallest ZIT member's knee. "You're welcome."

Impulse could feel Zedaph rest his cheek against his shoulder.

With another sigh, Impulse craned his head back. "What does the world look like?"

Tango gave the tallest ZIT member's knee a gentle squeeze. "It's just like any other new world we've opened up."

"And the new members? Gemini and Pearl?"

Zedaph giggled behind Impulse. "Both of the new girls are sweet."

Impulse groaned. "Both of you are so mean to me."

Zedaph laughed some more as Tango ducked his head to try and at least muffle his.

"You love us and you know it." Tango stated, grinning, despite Impulse not being able to see it.

Impulse paused for a second before smiling. "You bet I do."
