Pearl felt like this was an interrogation.

Gem was to her left, holding her head down and keeping her hands cupped together in her lap.

Grian- her old Evolution friend- was sitting in front of her with two other people from his server. An older looking man with white hair and a beard, and another that was wearing a full suit of armor and a helmet.

"Pearl."

The brown haired girl raised her head up, locking eyes with her old friend that she hadn't seen since High School. She remained silent.

Grian's eyes dug into her own. "Do you remember anything?"

Pearl bit her bottom lip, turning her head down and digging into the deepest depths of her memories.

"Its Logic,"

"Yeah? What about him?"

"He's gone."

"Gone? Well- when will he be back?"

"Pearl. He's not coming back. They took him."

"What?"

"..."

"Who took him?"

"I'm so sorry, Pearl."

The brown haired girl shrunk back. Her wings curled around her like a blanket as she shook her head, blinking back the tears that had begun to form.

"No," She quietly stated, breaking her silence. "I don't remember anything."

The helmeted player on Grian's right adjusted his own standing position. "Does your friend by chance remember anything?"

This time it was Gem's turn to shake her head and speak up. "No. I was- with them. Pearl found me and saved me from them."

The helmeted player frowned. "Who's them?"

Silence hung across the five players.

The older player finally let out a sigh. "They were both with the Watchers." He stated matter-of-factly. The tone he held was so sure that it made Pearl shutter.

Grian and the helmeted player looked at the elder.

"How do you know, TFC?" Grian questioned with a suspicious stare.

The elder, TFC, stood straight, turning his near white eyes towards the other two. "They both swarm with Watcher energy signatures, Eh-Suma. Just like Grian when he joined us in season six."

The helmeted player- Xisuma- exhaled, bringing a hand up to the back of his neck and scratching it. "I forgot how good you were at reading signatures like that."

TFC simply gave a sigh as Pearl moved her eyes between the three.

"Well," TFC continued. "Let's get these two women settled in with the rest of us. If they don't mind of course."

Gem flinched. "N-No, we don't mind."

Xisuma nodded. "Alright, we'll get you both introduced to the others."

Extending out his hand, Pearl saw Xisuma possibly smile behind his mask that he had on his face.

"Welcome to Hermitcraft, ladies."

"Grian?" Pearl whispered, holding her arms around herself like a self hug. It was late and she was standing near the Boatem Pole she had seen Grian and another server player build.

Gem had returned to her own starting home and Pearl couldn't bring herself to disturb the doe hybrid at such a late time.

Grian turned on his heel to his old server mate. His large wings were drooped ever so down. "Yes Pearl? What do you need?"

Licking her lips, Pearl choked on her words. "I-I..."

"They took him."

Bowing her head, Pearl could feel tears run down her face and her own large wings touch the ground.

Grian approached her. He gently hovered his hands over her forearms- not yet physically touching her. "Hey, you okay?"

Pearl squeezed her eyes shut. "Please don't disappear too." She choked out, suddenly letting go of herself and leeping forward to embrace Grian in a hug.

Her tears were now freely falling.

The sandy blond haired hermit flinched, but returned the embrace. His wings went and loosely wrapped around Pearl as he held her close.

"I've gotcha, I've gotcha. I won't disappear. That I promise." Grian muttered quietly to the winged brunette.

Pearl sobbed quietly as she just clung to Grian like he was her only lifeline.

"Please don't disappear, please don't disappear." Pearl muttered back, over and over to not only Grian- but to herself.

Whether she was trying to beg Grian to do as she requested or if she was trying to reassure herself her nightmare wouldn't come true- she wouldn't know.

Trembling, Pearl just remained still and in the embrace of her friend.

Aight- who needs a tissue?

Oof- a lot of Grian these first beginning chapters- but I'm not exactly sure who else to write Pearl angst with other than Cod Boy himself so-

Oof-
