Are You Willing To Die For It?

Okay, all you Legolas fangirls, you will probably hate me after reading this.

I don't care though, if you don't like my writing, then don't read it.

Also, some of the dialogue might not be accurate.....
Savvy?
-------------

Thranduil shouted out a command in Elvish at what little remained of his shining, Elven army.

They immediately began marching forward in sync, their golden armor glimmering despite the snowy clouds.

They suddenly stopped, and Thranduil stared in annoyance at the lone figure who was blocking their path.

Tauriel.

"You will go no further!" She said slowly and confidently.

First, she directly disobeys me by going after that stupid dwarrow, then she thinks she can stand in my way and tell me what I can and can't do?! Thranduil thought furiously.

"Tauriel, let us pass." Thranduil said, warning lacing his voice.

"No. If you leave, the dwarves will die." She responded, firmly holding her ground.

Thranduil's reaction surprised Tauriel.

"Yes, they will die," he said, showing absolutely no concern for the dwarf army.

"And today, tomorrow, a hundred years hence, what will it matter? they are mortal, their lives pass quickly, like sand through the hourglass."

Anger flashed through Tauriel's eyes, and she nocked an arrow, aiming it directly at Thranduil.

She spoke, her tone was filled with blame and disgust.

"You think your life is more important than theirs!" She almost shouted.

"But how can it be? there is no love in it."

These next words cut into Thranduil like the edge of a knife.

"There is no love in you." Tauriel said, curling her lip and glaring at him.

For a few seconds, there was only silence, the Elven army nervously awaiting their king's reaction.

Thranduil began to turn away, and Tauriel started to feel relieved that he didn't punish her for her harsh words.

But he must have seen that relief on her face, because suddenly, faster than any eye could perceive, Thranduil whirled around and sliced Tauriel's bow in half.

She gasped, and let the two halves of her bow fall to the ground with a thud that echoed all throughout the ruins of Dale.

Thranduil's eyes were wild with anger as he placed his long, silver sword at the she-elf's throat.

"What do you know of love?!" He shouted. "Nothing!"

Tauriel's eyes filled with tears, and a single teardrop ran down her cheek as she looked at Thranduil, all her anger turned to surprise and shame.

He continued, "what you feel for that dwarf? That isn't love. Are you willing to die for it?"

Determination flooded Tauriel's mind, and she spoke boldly,

"Yes."

At that one word, she raised her head defiantly. Glaring once again at the Elvenking.

Anger blinded Thranduil, and he was barely able to keep from shouting.

"Alright then, if that is your answer." He said, rage causing his voice to be on the verge of breaking.

And with those words, he quickly flicked the blade of his sword across Tauriel's throat.

Realization and shock flashed across Tauriel's face, before she fell to the ground, her eyes now lifeless and gray, and a thin line of crimson across her pale neck.

Thranduil immediately felt terrified of what he had just done, but he hid it so well, that his soldiers didn't even know it was there.

They all tried not to gasp or cry out, especially Feren, a young ellon who had known Tauriel personally, and had become close friends with her.

He looked down at the icy cobblestones as tears threatened to fall.

Everybody stood in silence, all staring at the fallen she-elf.

Suddenly, a scream of terror and pure heartbreak cut through the silence.

Thranduil quickly turned, already knowing who the voice belonged to.

Legolas ran to them, and fell to his knees, before cradling Tauriel's lifeless body in his arms, tears streaming down his face.

His blue eyes were clouded by sorrow.

He looked up at Thranduil, his grief quickly was replaced by burning anger.

"How could you?!?" Legolas cried out, his voice was like an arrow to Thranduil's heart.

"What could she have done to deserve this?!?"

Thranduil made sure that no emotion showed on his face as he spoke.

"She defied me, and she fell in love with a dwarf!" He said, looking his son directly in the eyes.

Legolas could have just jumped up then and there and injured, or even killed his father.

And Thranduil fully expected something of that ilk, so he moved away slightly, and braced for an attack.

And if Legolas had done those things, they may have damaged Thranduil's body, but wounds of the flesh heal, whereas a scar on your soul will never fade, even if you live forever.

And Legolas left a scar of that exact kind, when he didn't lash out at his father, like he had expected. But simply stayed there, a look of grief and betrayal marring his fair face.

Thranduil knew that he would shatter if he stayed there for any longer, so he quickly gave Legolas a hard stare, allowing some of his inner turmoil to be visible in his eyes, so that maybe, his son would hate him less.

Then he began to leave, and the gaurds followed.

But suddenly, he paused,

He knew that this would be the last time he would ever see his son, so he would at least part with something that he knew Legolas had wanted to hear for so long, ever since his mother had died.

"Legolas, your mother loved you. More than anything, more than life itself."

He didn't even await Legolas's reaction, before he walked away into the swirling snow, leaving his son behind, feeling lost, but with those words racing through his mind.

And they never did meet again, at least, not on this earth.

Somewhere far beyond the sea, beyond grief or tragedy.

But that, is an entirely different story.

~~~~~~
I think you guys know by now that I hate Tauriel.
MonsterCupcake61176 this MOST CERTAINLY did not make you cry.....
But I didn't have any better ideas.
