Here's some cute hobbit fluff!
~*~

Sam walked up the small path leading to his cozy hobbit-hole. Where he knew dinner, and a steadily growing family, were waiting for him.

He had been gone nearly all day. Wandering the woods of the Shire, and thinking about Frodo.

Frodo.

Sam had tried to forget about his precious Master after he had departed to the Undying Lands, but his longing and heartbreak was too deep.

How could you forget about someone you cared for so deeply? Someone you suffered with, someone you sacrificed so much for, someone you carried up a mountain because they had no strength left?

Sam often took these long walks, hoping it would help, but he almost always came back with a memory of him and Frodo sitting together in a clearing or on an old log, which he would have came upon in his wanderings. this memory would prick at his heart like shards of broken glass.

But the pain was always eased by Rosie, the lovely hobbit girl who Sam loved to watch when she danced, many years ago, long before he had even dreamed that they would ever wed.

She was so understanding, so empathetic, he loved her dearly.

Also, the hobbit had found a small surprise on his venture that day.

Sam smiled faintly as he neared his bright, yellow front door. The sounds of children laughing and running around could be heard from inside.

Suddenly, the round door opened, and five small faces peeked out at him.

"DAD!" little Rose shouted gleefully, before racing out to leap into her father's arms. Elanor, Frodo, Merry, and baby Pippin (who could barely walk) followed her.

Sam laughed as the tidal wave of small bodies crashed into him.

"Samwise!" a mock-scolding voice said from the doorway. "What have I told you about staying out so late?"

He looked up to see Rosie standing in the doorway, holding a bar of soap and grinning at him.

"Hi, Rosie." Sam said with a little chuckle.

"Hello, love." She walked through the doorway and ushered the children back inside before hugging Sam and giving him a small kiss.

"Sam..." She said as she pulled away, "have you been eating...apples?"

"...Yes, I just found it lyin' by a tree and-"

"But I thought the crops didn't do very well this year!"

"I know! I have no idea where it came-"

"Oh, Sam!" Rosie said lovingly before kissing him again.

Frodo used to say that...

~THE END~
