Chapter 20 - Fallng In Love Again
Time: Modern Day
Location: HereAfter
Peter asked again "Where is Amelia? I need to see Amelia . . . now!"
"I told you she is with her mother, her mother needs her at the moment," Teacher countered.
I have to explain. I have to make her understand!" Peter whined.
"Understand? Understand what Peter? Understand why you killed her mother? Is that what you mean, Peter? I'm sure she will understand. I'm sure she is telling her Mum as we speak, as she supports her Mum as she watches her life on Earth draw to a close."
"I was angry, I wasn't thinking straight. I loved Amelia so much. If her mother hadn't interfered. If she had just delivered my letters . . . things would have been different. Amelia would still be alive. We might have gotten married . . . had even more kids, been happy. I wouldn't have become a murderer. None of it would have happened if she had of stayed out of it."
Teacher spoke now, "Now you are beginning to understand Peter. What people have done to you, and what you have done to others . . . the consequences are unknown and far reaching."
"I didn't mean to hurt anyone. I have never been like that even as a kid. Dan . . . it was Dan. . . all along. I see now. Dan arranged all this. He could have told me the truth any time. He didn't. Why did he pretend to be my friend? The Cheval's friend too?
He didn't tell me about Amelia. He let me think she was alive, and didn't want anything to do with me. He convinced me to become a priest . . . to go to Rome. To go with other girls. He sent other girls to me, ones that even looked like Amelia. I don't need to see a movie to know what's going on now do I?"
"Well said Peter. You are slowly learning how to access the All."
"The All . . . what exactly is that?" Peter inquired.
"The All is what is, what was and whatever will be," Teacher answered matter-of-factly.
'What you are witnessing in the Joi De Vie is not really a movie but it is presented to you as such until you can understand what's really going on."
"And what is really going on then? Is what I'm seeing not real?" Peter asked.
"By real you mean did it happen? Yes it did. In fact what you are experiencing is the energy reflections of the past. The best analogy, that you might understand, is how, as a child, you learnt, at school, that light from stars is still visible to us even though those stars may have long since super novaed and died, or vanished into a black hole," Teacher explained.
"So I am seeing the past?" Peter asked.
"Yes but more than that. The energy reflections are sensory reflections . . . sights, sounds, emotions, insights and imaginings, or in other words, dreams."
"So when I see Amelia, she is forever young and I am forever old? So I've lost her forever haven't I?"
"You still love Amelia you think, but are you in love with the memory of Amelia or the Amelia, as she is now . . . the mother of the child you had murdered and the child of the mother you had murdered?" Teacher queries.
"I didn't know that the investigator in question at the time was Carter let alone that Carter was my son!" Peter pleaded.
"Still, you obeyed the orders of the Black Pope without question, didn't you? In the case of Monique, you alone decided the course of action after her visit to you. You panicked that some of your Secrets could come under scrutiny. That your blood oath could be compromised. You knew that it was wrong, but since the only person you worried about, Amelia, was now dead . . . did you not realise Amelia would know, or were all the things you professed to believe in, as a priest, lies.
This is what you need to sort out before you meet Amelia again. Before you love Amelia again, before Amelia could conceivably forgive you for murdering your and her child, and her mother. That is a big ask, even here Peter. I think we need to take you away from her to allow you both time to reflect and heal." Teacher decided.
"What's the point. I am too old for her now." Peter wailed.
"Have you leant nothing Petros!" Teacher asked, rhetorically using his Vatican name to shock effect. "Did I not tell you there is no time here. Age is a function of your body which you no longer inhabit.
"Therefore you and Amelia are the same 'age' as everyone else . . . timeless.
You are merely seeing the reflection that Amelia has chosen to present to you. You too will soon learn how to present your essence with any chosen reflection from your past or even your future . . . you as you were or as you want to be . . . it is up to you, as I told you when you first arrived this time . . . there is no time here, and you are in control, you just still don't know it. Amelia has learnt her lesson . . . you must accompany me now, to learn yours!"
