Sol would hear many gasps of shock, horror and despair emanating from inside the Vault Of Secrets over the next year. He had jumped at the opportunity to provide security at the Vatican. He had been chosen because of his work with the CIA and protection details as a Secret Service member including being body guard for U.S. Presidents including Clinton and the Bushs.

Many times he had to feign concern as Petros(Carter) returned ashen-faced from the depths of the Vault. Thankfully, sometimes, the Monsignore had stayed so long at his task, that Sol's shift had ended and he had been relieved by one of the other Sols.

Sometimes he wondered if the one they called Petros even realised he had been relieved. He was often so shaken by what he had witnessed that he rushed past Sol after the locking ceremony without making eye contact or speaking.

Sol had a lot of time to ponder his hopes for his impending retirement as well as the current focus of his bodyguard duties and the changes that had occurred at the Vatican during his short tenure as Vault Guard.

I wonder why this priest is so special. He turns up around 18 years ago apparently as a novice with Dan. He gets treated like royalty from the get go especially by Graz. He rises to Keeper of Secrets. Then not long afterwards he ends up assassinating the Guardian Angel of Secrets and his body guard, my friend, Andre.

Then instead of getting me to take him for a ride Graz orders me to spirit away a known terrorist leader to escape by helicopter. After successfully seeing to the take off he gets me to help Anton clean up the scene of his father's death and remove his body before the police arrive.

It just doesn't make any sense to me.....or to Anton. Especially since Andre had been reporting strange happenings and an increased level of covert operations since this Petros' arrival.

When I first saw him after the incident I thought there was no way the bastard could.pull through. There was just too much blood. But the prick has not only survived but been promoted. Nothing here makes any sense but Anton and I both know from experience the difference between a good and a bad time to stick your head out and question the Black Pope.

Petros(Carter) started to dig into the origins of the IOR bank. It seemed it had operated through a shell Dutch bank which in turn operated in concert with an American finance group which would eventually be shut down and all funds confiscated by the U.S. Government for trading with the enemy.

However the IOR had given warnings to the Bush syndicate in time for them to extract their fortune before any government actions could be implemented.

This would prove very beneficial for the IOR to have a succession of U.S. Presidents beholding to the Vatican for not only their fortune but their very election to their office.

Behind the scenes the IOR had used combinations of entrapment, bribes and blackmail to rig pre-selection results.

Backing both sides of conflicts and even causing the conflict in the first place became the modus operandi for the Vatican and their Rockefeller silent partners.

By the time the war with Japan came to it's inevitable conclusion the IOR had set up a Financial Triad of the IOR in the Vatican, Wall Street Hedge Funds in New York and International Monetary Funds in London.

Using gold and stolen art collections from the proceeds of the Second World War they were able to exert influence over the politics and economies of most of the nations of the world.

One exception was the Soviet Union but by skillfully using its influence to establish the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and blackmailing its hierarchy it was able to plant the seeds of the Cold War.

The Vatican was able to inaugurate, populate and control the set up of the United Nations, NASA and the Pentagon Dark Money Program.

The Cold War brought in unbelievable wealth from the US Military Industrial Complex. The Vatican was also able to benefit from the Russian Military build up through it's influence and support of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Although Stalin and Lenin were Marxists they were also greedy enough to leave the Church alone and profit off the relationship while publicly denouncing it.

The more time Petros(Carter) spent discovering the Vatican Secrets the more he realised that exposing all this to the world was going to take precedence over his personal vendetta. He was glad now he hadn't acted in haste and ended Petros' life. There would be plenty of time to extract his revenge on his father . . . or, at least, his father's body.

I wonder what Teacher is doing with Peter's spirit. I hope he is embarassing him with the truth bombs in his movie.

Petros'(Carter's) musings were interrupted by a knock on the door

"You asked me to let you know when 6 o'clock came Monsignore. It is time. I leave in half an hour so if you want me to help you lock up . . ," Sol broke off.

"Yes, Sol, thank you, I'll finish up now. You are very efficient."

"We aim to please, Monsignore." Sol said hiding his sarcasm.
One day I will aim to kill.
