You know you don't have a chance. You know that there is no way a quiet girl like you could ever get the extremely cute new Korean foreign exchange student to like you.

But hey, at least you had the guts to give him your number.

And now all that's left to do is wait.

You feel super giddy, coming home and screaming into your pillow for a while before your phone turns on.

His name is Jimin. Jimin Park. Or Park Jimin, since that's how names work where he comes from. You think about the way you met him, which was really awkward but hey, at least you did it. You gave him your number.

•••

He was sitting on a bench near the bus stop- perfect because you didn't miss your bus. You were fumbling with a folded piece of paper in your hands with your number written on it. A small piece of paper ripped neatly off of a lined sheet. You wrote your number in the prettiest handwriting you could use and told Autumn, your best friend, that today was the day.

Today you would give him your number and you would not change your mind and chicken out.

But looking at Jimin, all handsome and cute, sitting on his bench alone, you realized you didn't have the guts to do it. He wore a black beanie that pushed his silver hair over his eyes, a light pink hoodie that made him look soft and friendly, and blue skinny jeans with black converse high tops.

You turned around, not ready to approach this beautiful creation of god, but Autumn laughed, turned you back toward him, and pushed you over to the bench- a little too hard. You managed to stumble over a rock and trip over, almost falling down but catching yourself on the bench- a very startled Korean boy caged between your arms.

You blushed so hard you could rival the fall leaves that were starting to turn orange, and stood up. "U-Um," you stuttered. "Sorry. I-I wanted to... give this to you."

You held out the slip of paper to him and he looked at you with some kind of confused but awed look in his eyes for a moment before he remembered to take the paper.

He opened the paper, read your number, and looked back up at you.

And he smiled. His smile was so pretty and it made you want to smile, despite the awkward situation. So you did.

"I'll text you," he promised, his voice quiet and shy. "But... it looks like your bus is ready to go."

You had looked over in panic to see your bus door closing. You looked at him with wide eyes. "I'll-I'll see you later!" You said hurriedly, and sprinted to your bus to bang on the doors. Luckily, the bus driver let you in for once.

After glancing back at Jimin, only to find him looking back at you curiously, you practically skipped to your seat somewhere near the back of the bus. And when you opened your phone to let Autumn know that it worked and he would text you, your phone died with no way to charge it.

Well frick.

•••

You bust the door down to get into your room and leap onto your bed, tossing your backpack onto the space in front of you. You tear it open and rip out your charger, a look of glee on your face as you search for the best place to plug it in. You lean halfway over the edge of your bed and with trembling hands, plug the charger into the wall.

You wait an excruciating two minutes before your phone finally lights up and you see the shining face of Benedict Cumberbatch with his curly hair on the set of Sherlock, your favorite show. You've watched all the seasons three times through. God you love that show.

But that's irrelevant at the moment. You hurriedly type in your four digit code to unlock your phone and tap the green icon at the bottom of your screen that is the texting app.

010 *** ****

Is that him? Did he have to wait long? Does he not like you now? That was not the best first impression- falling over him and then almost missing your bus and then not replying to his text immediately.

You read the text.

Hello, this is Jimin
You gave me your number

Your heart thuds in your chest as a huge, wide grin crosses your face and your fingers dance on the keyboard to reply to your crush of two and a half weeks.

Hello
Sorry I didn't reply, my phone died
My name is Y/n

Hello, I'm L. I started this book a while ago and I wanted to see where it would go. I really want you all to read it and like it, so if you enjoy, please comment or vote. This is my first book so I'm a little nervous to be writing. I don't want this author's note to get too long, so I will leave it here.

Thank you for reading

Next chapter tomorrow, or tonight if I have time to edit.
